GT5 NASCAR 2011 update/DLC?

Are you serious? You must be doing offline racing because I tried it at my friends 2 days ago and it was the worst online racing I have ever played.I played Nascar 2003 on my PC for years which was the benchmark until iRacing.GT5 is way superior to Nascar 2011.They acknowledged they released a piece of junk so they could hop on the Nascar bandwagon.Go to their website and look at the complaints.Burned out wheels for the 360 fans,thats great at $200 bucks.Can't join rooms,crashing at the start of races,I could go on but I won't.As much as I like Nascar that game couldn't hold GT5's jockstrap.Why do you think people are asking for DLC on here because that game is good??

While the offline is really good, the online does have many bugs, which Eutechnyx is working on for a future update. But really though, if you get a room/lobby with few people who race clean, it can be really fun.

I hate online gaming, so yes, I've only played offline and never have had plans on going online.

so what if its not as popular in other countries. most of the forms of racing in gt5 arent in all countries, people dont complain about them.
and have you seen the number of people in nascar rooms online?

Sadly, I'm not getting my hopes up. This would probably be near to the bottom of their 'to do list' I'm afraid. I mean I prefer the 2010 look of Nascars anyway.

I dare say Nascar is one of the most represented form of racing in the game considering the amount of premium cars. Don't you think it is a bit unfair to all other racing fans if you demand still more nascar cars when nascar has only about 7 million fans in the us/canda compared to several dozen million fans of other motor sports all around the world?

There are about 20 million formula 1 fans in europe which is nearly tripple the fans of nascar, and there are only 3 formula cars. Do you see them ranting, we want more cars, newer cars ...

The STandards are JGTC cars. I just have the Premium number off the top of my head. There are plenty more JGTC, a few D1GP, a bunch of rally cars, touring, LM's, etc.

So NASCAR really does not have a lot when you consider the Standards.

The standards don't really count, since they're last-gen. I personally think NASCAR is well represented already, PD actually modeled each NASCAR individually, despite them looking the same as each other, this is evidenced by the fact that each NASCAR has a different interior. So NASCAR does actually have a lot compared to other, more popular series. WRC fans only get 3 premium cars, DTM fans only get the Lexus ISF and there are no BTCC/ETCC/STCC/WTCC premium cars so quit moaning about GT5 not having the latest 2011 NASCAR cars.

As far as their apperance is concerned, yes. PD's time would've been better spent premium-ising these cars rather than modeling each NASCAR from the ground up. They should've only modeled one Ford NASCAR and one Chevrolet NASCAR and then just changed the textures. It would've been a lot more time efficient and those of us who are fans of other race series wouldn't have been so neglected. Asking for 2011 NASCAR's, when other race series are so badly neglected, is just being greedy in my opinion. Like I said, that's just my opinion, feel free to disagee with it but I personally think PD shouldn't spend any more time on NASCAR until GT6, it's already well represented and it's time that more popular motorsports, such as WRC or WTCC, are given some premium treatment.

Dear god I hope PD doesn't waste any more time on Nascar in GT5. They wasted enough trying to get close to nascar by forcing Aids on cause their engine can't do the draft effect.

I'm not the hugest NASCAR fan but I appreciate GT5's effort to diversify the game and give us a wide variety of events (granted, still a massive shortage of A events!)

but on topic, I could think of other DLC content I would rather have. I'm really doubtful we would see any DLC though. It took them so long to come this far. But maybe they will prove me wrong

I'm hoping that Nascar 2011 game gets patched up though I had some interest in playing

That wouldn't have been a particularly accurate way of doing things. I doubt that is how they did the JGTC cars in GT5.

Considering how dire the situation is with WRC for the past few years, I'd have to question the standard by which it is more popular than nearly any other major racing series.

Its all the answer that is needed. None of those assets were made for GT5. Most of them date back to 2001, in fact.
In regards to stuff made for GT5, and stuff that will return for GT6, the amount of NASCAR models in the game is quite sizeable, greatly exceeding those of any other series besides JGTC. Saying that there should be more Premium NASCAR models because there are more total JGTC models when most of the JGTC models are standards is completely unfair.

Do you have any friends on GT5? I have met so many great people playing GT5 online.Give it a try,if you get some good people in a room its a blast.I'm not talking Nascar rooms only.We do full damage,no aid,no assist rooms and the racing is awesome.There is some mistakes made but no idiot drivers and everyone is respectful.Add me and come join.

You have a point there and I have to agree, just because the standard models don't look so nice they are still nice to drive. However the premium treatment of all the nascar models still holds some benefits (benefits doesn't seem the right word, I'm no native so sorry for this) which a lot of the standard moddels don't have. The most important comming to my mind is buying them when you feel like driving them. You know that if you have ever ploughed to the UCD to come buy a specific car. That's tyring work which needs a lot of patience.

This thread reminds me that they had a lot of the 2009 cars (with the wings on the back) ready and showed them in several trailers back then (at E³ 2009 for example), also with several paint jobs for certain drivers. Wish they would have added these too, than we could have 2010 and 2009 races.

If Kaz really wanted to make $$ he could come up with 50 new Premiums and charge $1.99 a piece. But that would involve business planning and giving consumers what they want.. not sure he's into that.

I don't own NASCAR the Game 2011, but from screen shots, they don't even have it 100% correct. The official NASCAR game still has Kurt Busch driving the blue 2 Miller car, but he is of coarse in the 22 Shell car this year, and he isn't the only mistake that I have seen in the lineup for the game.

NASCAR game titles have always been misleading, being one year ahead of the actual dates.
NASCAR 2005= 2004 NASCAR
NASCAR 2007= 2006 NASCAR

This is untrue. The Sprint Cup cars went through dramatic changes between last year and this year. That's why the two-car packs came about at Daytona and Talladega.
