Battman, can you please confirm if the Xanavi Nismo GT-R (2003) would be eligible for this series? I bought it off the online dealership (734,000). It is still stock and has 509hp. The only thing I've done to it is change the oil, and tuned the transmission.

That car will be good. I will add you to the driver list in the OP.

Had a lot of fun tonight guys. Would have been even more exciting if there were more than just 5 of us racing. Will do my detailed race report tomorrow.

Great race last night guys. Hopefully we get more for the next one.

Final Results are as follows:

1st - Battman23 (PP) - 22 points
2nd - xisco - 15 points
3rd - tr1mble - 11 points
4th - scuudz - 8 points
5th - rynedee - 6 points

League page will be updated as well.

Would be nice if everyone did a brief race report so everyone knows what their fellow drivers went through during the race. Here's mine:

I was pretty nervous going into this race after fairing pretty poorly in the couple of race I was available for last season, but had gained a little bit of confidence lapping around the same pace as rynedee in practice who finished 2nd overall in season 1. I started 3rd or 4th on the grid for this race.

I had a pretty good start, and gained on trimble, who was right in front of me, pretty quickly. At the first turn, I think I touched the back of battman's car and that probably led to him oversteering a bit on the exit. That was enough for trimble and myself to pass him. Positions changed on almost each turn during the first lap except for trimble who opened up a little bit of a gap probably because I was in second and holding battman back. Towards the end of the first lap when I was in 4th, I got bumped (unintentionally) off track by rynedee and this left me playing catch up from last place for a while.

The remainder of the race was just a race for 2nd place like ryne had predicted since batt was so far ahead of everyone else. I managed to do a few quick laps and caught back up to xisco and ryne who were having an epic battle for 3rd. I think we went 3 or 4 laps with them scrapping about 1.5- 2 seconds ahead of me. Xisco then made a mistake which led to us passing him, but he more than made up for it with his pit strategy. He pitted early and Im sure ryne and I decided to stay out as long as possible but it was a bad idea because once xisco came out of the pits he was 2-3 seconds faster than us on each sector. He was probably only 5 seconds behind us when we pitted. trimble probably suffered the most since he was really struggling with his tires and spun out a few times which led to me passing him and I went into the pits in 2nd place.

ryne, trimble and I pitted at the same time and I just got out in front of him. He passed me after a couple of laps and thats how it stayed until the end of the race.

Even though I finished 4th out of 5 racers, I think anyone could have finished second with proper pit strategy. I had a few good battles with ryne and xisco, and for a couple of laps with trimble. It was a lot of good, clean racing fun.

Highlights for me in this race:

1. Never spun out :)
2. Ran the 3rd fastest lap in the race.
3. Managed to keep my mistakes low (maybe a couple of big ones over 19 laps is great for my standard)
4. Exciting, but clean battles with xisco, ryne and trimble.

batt: I just noticed you put in a mandatory pit-stop during the middle 3 laps of the race. Mandatory pit-stop is fine, but why the need to dictate when it should be taken?

I guess we don't need to mandate when it should be taken, I thought of it more as a general guideline.

Here is my race report:

did alot better then i thought considering i bought the car earlier in the day just for the race...

was in first for a lap and a 3/4 from the start untill battman cruised by me and got a short cut penalty at the hard turn after the last strait, then proceeded to fall farther behind by 2-3 sec a lap

Realizing i should have went in reverse to go back to the pit after i took the turn in to fast and producing a 3:23:xx lap time as it felt like i was driving on ice for the next lap and totally lost my pretty nice lead for 2nd

After that was a fun little 1 vs 1 with scuudz because he was no more then 1-2 sec. behind me for the last 6 laps and if i made just 1 little mistake he would overtake me no problem

All in all it was a fun race....i know a few adjustments i have to make for the next race....feel free to add me and we'll race around a little bit...im on most nites

See you all next week!!!

please change my car for next week's race to:

Honda ARTA NSX (SUPER GT) ‘06

i did not race this week so shouldn't matter what i'm driving, right?

looking forward to racing with you guys next time, i watched most of the race yesterday.

thanks,

-d

really wanted to make it out this race but sadly i didn't :( had a long day and actually fell asleep during the time the race took place haha..

Hopefully i'l be there next week. I had a question about horsepower though. Since scuudz has 509hp as he stated on the previous post can you make a hp limit for 510hp with hp mods available?

For example my yellow hat supra is running 498 hp after an engine overhaul and engine oil change. I'm pretty sure a air filter will get me close to 510hp.

I doubt anyone can notice 10hp difference but it might be worth something after 19 laps.

I'm fine with no mods whatsoever but if given the option to run few more HP why not?

i am in but i have a question. in the first post you have super gt 300 cars but how are they supossed to compete with gt500 cars if they are only 300+ hp if nomod alowed?

Sorry I missed ya on the 20th. Been having alot going on so hope to see ya on the 27th. Later guys. :guilty:

My bad thought those were all GT500 cars. I took the list from another post on gtplanet and didn't check it, thinking it was correct. I will try and get a better list to correct it. Thanks.

UPDATE: Took out the RX-7, Gareiya, and IS350. I think that was all the GT300 cars in there. If there are any others let me know.

The HP limit is 522 because my car after a oil change is 518

What he said. I noticed that (as usual with GT) the HP's get messed up. But still no messing with tuner parts! :) I will have the limit set to 522 for all races due to these discrepancies.

I'm confused.

I thought we were racing stock SuperGTs, but we now we have a HP limit of 522?

Can someone explain what is allowed and what is not allowed?

they are all stock...the thing is,some cars like mine are over 500hp from the dealership

Just went to GT Auto. Got an oil change. Went from 485 to 509. I bought the car at 493. It seems that the game is accounting for engine break-in. That would explain why i had to keep messing with my car in the first series to drop below the hp limit.

There was talk of allowing racing softs in this series but the question of how the different grades of tires compare was left unanswered. Anyone interested in running laps at Monza with the different tires for the sake of some 'research'?

did you overhaul your engine as well or just oil change? Cause the hp goes up after the first overhaul.

My car runs 498 after overhaul and oil change but if the rules are no tuning parts allowed, then let it be so I guess.

Lets just wish the stock hp differences of these cars don't really make that much of a difference. Cause on paper it seems 24hp is alot on cars that can handle similarily and fully utilize 500hp. Its not like we are adding that much power on a car that is always breaking traction. These cars GRIP!

See you guys next week.

i just did an oil change...i bought the car new so i couldn't overhaul the engine..

and dont worry about the hp differnce...battman was pulling away from me the last 16 laps with ease...and you really can't tell...even on the straits...

battman i have an rx7 LM race car which its specs its for gt500. can i use it? its around 520 bhp. if not i have the woodone supra 03'(519 bhp) the arta nsx 00'(505) and the castrol supra (515)

okay great. I just didn't have experience racing other JGTC cars so made that kinda assumption. can't wait for the next race!

This weekend I had a catastrophic mechanical failure. I will be out for the forseeable future. My mechanic will take a look sometime this week.

Y'all have fun, I look forward to seeing the race results/recaps.

rynedee

I have it saved. How do I put it up here? It's a pretty big file.

i use photobucket....idk what the max is..but i have over 100mb videos on mine

My Blu-ray drive bit the dust over the weekend. I took my console to a local repair shop where they quoted me a 7-10 business day timeframe on the repair time. It took them one business day (really, two hours last night).

I will, in fact, be able to join y'all in Thursday's race at Monza. All i need to do is download the 608 megabyte 1.05 update and possibly suffer thru the install process one more time.

I mistyped... My game save file was erased for some reason. I'm now at level 0, with no money. I guess I won't be meeting y'all at Monza this week...

This sucks...

EDIT: Never mind.
