May I remind you that not every opinion in the world is the absolute same...don't expect everyone to think this game is at least par...and they don't.

Exactly.

Thing is though, the constant defenders of the game aren't exactly bright either. They'll counter GT5 against Forza 4 with points that aren't related to the argument and are usually false anyway. I mean, I think GT5 is great, but I can actually accept it has flaws and will accept what Forza does do over it (or what I know of it anyway).

My comment wasn't about that, but shouldn't that be the case with EVERY piece of entertainment you own? Plus you should expect that at a website that is first and foremost a Gran Turismo news source.

For example, I come to the GT5 section here to read tweets, etc., because I still play this game on a daily basis.

I guess I just don't see the point of talking about something that brings so much displeasure to ones life when "that" is nothing more then a video game.

Maybe I am getting to old.:ouch:

8 for me. Would have been a 10 had afew additional performance cars been premium such as bmw e46 m3, toyota supra, and saleen S7 just to name a few, and the want to have wheel change options for std cars. And lastly a more challebging a spec mode. Otherwise the game has been great especially if you find a good group of racers for online play.

What do you think GT5 deserves a 1-10 scale, 10 being the best and 1 being the worst.

My score for it 6/10

And this is why kids shouldn't play GT5.

GT5 beeing the best GT made and you giving it a 6 clearly shows you lack some serious understanding of this whole franchise, hence your oppinion is invalid.

For me:
On release - 80/100 maybe even 75/100 (put it at 8 which makes a round score of 4)
1.1 - 90/100 (round score of 5)
2.0 - As far as GT5 goes 95/100, this is the best score GT5'll get from me (again, avg score of 5)

For a game to go from 8 to 9.5 it's a great achievement.

I think a better question is, why are people who see GT5 in a negative manner still posting on a forum ONE YEAR after its release!

Let it go friends and find another game.💡

I know, because they're full of ****.

Not sure if serious.

See my previous post.

Warning: Long rant to follow.

I have quite often wondered to myslf what i would rate GT5 out of ten, as i've been asked by friends a few times. Now, i am not a complainer, i take what i get with a smile on my face, but this community has different oppinions. There is many things they'd like to see added to GT5 through updates, like...
-Livery editor
-More advanced course maker
-Smarter AI
-Better online filtering options
-More stable online play
-More tracks
-More cars
-More photomode locations
-More course maker themes
-More aero options
-More wheel options and the ability to use them on standards
-Etc, etc...

Now, while i admit that having some of those things would be cool, i refuse to complain about them. Why?
When GT5 was released a hell of a lot of people were dissapointed. They got caught up in hype and were rewarded with dissapointment. Alot of people had real problems
"The game keeps crashing please fix it"
"Load times are really bad when signed in to PSN"
"The frame rate is constantly dropping"
"The standards have no cockpit:"
"My $600 driving wheel isn't supported, when it was in prologue"
"The damage is no where near as impressive as advertised"
"There aren't enough events"
"Standard cars look worse than they did in GT4"
"People are cutting corners in GT Academy"
"The game gave my PS3 YLoD due to overworking it"
"There are no leaderboards, the game case said there would be leaderboards
"why is there no endurance saves, i can't leave my PS3 on all week, i have a family."
All were extremely fair complaints, about what many considered game breaking things.

Over time, the updates have slowly crossed out much of the long list of players concerns. The major points have all been adressed in one way or another which leaves people to complain about the sort of things in my first liat. As i said, it would be pretty cool to change the rims on my M3 GTR or race a new V8 Supercar around Bathurst, but do you know what's cooler? Watching something slowly grow and develop right before your eyes.

GT5 has come a very long way since release, which people often forget about while typing on this forum. I believe the term that best describes them is complacent, they just don't appreciate how good they have it.

In this thread i noticed someone saying
The damage is disgracful
Do you know what was disgraceful? When there ws no mechanical damage online and rammers were free to push their way to the front.

GT5 may not be perfect, but do you know what? PD are trying damn hard to make it so. This is a game that has been out 11 months, and only now does the developer see the game as finished enough for people to pay extra for DLC. Not to bring up the usual argument, but can anyone name a console racing game that was/is still getting feature adding updates damn near a year post release?

That is just one reason that i give present day GT5 a 10/10. Not to mention...
-There is over 230 beautifully replicated cars to use
-There is 800 bonus cars, among them some really exceptional pieces of history
-There is a fair selection of tracks with varying difficulty and length
-There is freedom for everyone to do basically what ever they want with these cars on these tracks...
-There is a massive variety of things to do online, and great people to be met
-There is a community of devoted fans that one can come and chat with about any issues they may have have in the game
-It has the ability to make you feel completely at one with a car on a track

Call me a fanboy, a troll, a tosser, a 🤬, a 🤬 or a 🤬... In fact, call me whatever you like, the fact is this is MY game, it has all i really need and it is the only reason i even own a Playstation.

For "Some Racing Game" it would be 9,5/10 but since it's GT then... I can't give it more than 8,5. It's simple... I am expectiong more from the Gran Turismo series.

Better physics (I think many of us know it's flaws... massive flaws), GT5:Prologue's quality shadows, more stable framerate (with less tearing).. at least 40 track locations and over 600 unique Premium cars... and it would the best game in the world ;)

ps. sorry if my English is bad...

Poor game design
Very bad AI (even after improvements)
Terrible UI
Many Inconsistencies

As a fan since GT1 I expected better.

with sadness - 5/10

8.9

I'll give it a 9/9.5 as soon as:
All or most of the old tracks return
standars can be used in photo travel
photo travel gets more location (gt4 locations + main menu locations)
more dream cars

10/10 hands down nothing comes close. My only problem was the endurance race but that's not a problem anymore.

Before Spec II, I'd give it an 8.9 because it does have some irritating things about it, but... it's Gran Turismo with much of the feel of a PC sim. After Spec II, 9.1, the changes have been very nice, but I still want more. 10 being metaphysical perfection, I'd say that since Kaz is still not happy with it either, there's still room to grow and improve.

But on the happiness scale, I love the thing. :D

10/10

It's lasted me a year and I'm still not done with it.

7/10. I like just about everything about the game, but the customization and career mode is poor. Online needs more work too by adding matchmaking and more leaderboards.

Don't understand how anyone can give the game a 10/10. That says the game is perfect, or close to it. Are you really saying the game is near perfect?

It completely depends on what is more important about the game to you.

I personally give a 9/10 after updates, and a 8/10 at release. I really have fun with the game, the "GT feeling" rulez 👍

This is what we don't want. Valid arguments aside, this is about GT5, not Forza. There's another thread for that.

In my opinion 8/10.

As much as I love the game, it's hard to ignore the pretty major problems with it. This game absolutely blows away the competition in certain areas. Physics are among the best out there, graphics are mind blowing. But in other areas it falls short, even missing basic features that have been around since the 90s. So much so that even the massive list of cars can't make up for it.

Things that make this game better than most:

Huge car list: This means a massive amount of variety in races; even if none of the divisions are fully supported.

Track creator: Simple, limited, little user input, who cares. It's a massive amount of new a different road surfaces to drive on.

Off Road: Yup, as above, not fully supported. But not a ton of simulation games even include rally or off road without including only that.

Physics: On consoles, top of the line.

Weather, day/night. Looks exceedingly good, changes up the driving, providing even more variety.

Things that bring the game down a few pegs:

Standard/premium. Dumbest, most confusing thing in a long time. Frankly, it doesn't bother me, but it's still idiotic.

Damage modeling, is frankly terrible. No penalty for crashing either.

Sound design: Some cars make my mouth water, others make me gag a little. Terribly inconsistent.

Crash physics. Goes along with the above. Crashing is part of racing and the cars just float around awkwardly, not to mention you can't even roll over online. Breaks immersion and is annoying.

AI, is terrible and annoying. Regardless of other games that share this unfortunate trait, it's still a big problem.

Race variety: the actual variety is fine, but the event list is rather short. B-spec doesn't do anything to help this. Seasonals help a lot, but they don't fix everything and are online only.

Customization: we need more of it, cosmetics are important too ya know. More parts, decals, whatever. The game is lacking in this area.

Menu system, is okay, but not smooth and rather clunky.

Systems: Things like the way garage is sorted, paint chips, other items, upgrading, adding/removing parts, rewards collection, buying cars, etc. Lots of them are just little things that don't make much difference, but they still make little sense, are clunky, unintuitive, and need work.

That's about it. I love GT5 like few other games. As someone who generally dislikes racing games, GT games are about the only thing that keeps my interest. But it's nearly every five minutes that something in the game makes me go "What the heck were they thinking?"

This is what we don't want. Valid arguments aside, this is about GT5, not Forza. There's another thread for that.

I wasn't trying to bring up Forza, and besides which I brought it up over someone else saying about the people that ranters on the game should not be here. Thing is though there's nothing against the rule for them being here, especially on threads like this...

I wonder, if they remove the 800 standard cars and go with the GT3 route. (GT2 500+ cars to GT3 200+ quality cars) Will GT5 get a higher rating?

IMO people are just expecting way too much on PD's small team. They are one of the best devs, but they are no superhuman that can create everything fast. Also, people forget that they are mostly Japanese and NOT American or European, hence they don't have the same view of what people wants when it comes to creating game that cater to other people (vise versa to western developers), especially in today generation where everything is "WANT more" attitude.

Hek I only use 4 cars, 4 tracks, and rarely touch the tuning aspect of the game, but I could already give it a 10/10. :D

P.S. I guess I just appreciate GT5 as a driving sim, than a game.

When it first came out I would of given it an 8, with all the recent updates I think it deserves a bump up to 9.

My score for it 6/10

IIIII think a good solid 1.2/10.

Knowing what GT5 could have had with all resources committed to it for another year, I'd give GT5 a 7.5 when it released.

Now, 8.9 is the rating. It'll be over a 9 once we get the missing tracks that we thought were going to be IN the game when it released.

Fanboy in me says 10/10

Being honest: 9/10

Physics in the driving department are amazing in my book. and thats the whole point of racing games right? For it too feel right? And with full wheel support it makes it a perfect game. Grand selection of cars and day/night transitions are incredible.

But of course it lacks things. Lacks a few "desirable" cars and cockpit views. But thats it, do those things really make this game a flop? To Forza fanboys maybe. :dunce:

GT5 is so much better than Forza!
No really, does anybody care which number I rate this game?

7 on release, 7.5 now. If they add the online and arcade options to Aspec and stop the Ai slowing mid corner it'll jump to 9.

Give us the classic tracks for free and it'll go to 9.5 and be the game it should have been IMO.

Astro-Racer
10/10

It's lasted me a year and I'm still not done with it.
This.

I give it a solid 9. It has entertained me for hundreds of hours for the $50 I paid for it.

Without turning my post into yet another wishlist, my only 'regret' is that I didn't preorder to get the Stealth bonus and that I didn't play Seasonals/Bonus Races1-6.

The ratings of 4, 5, 6 are a joke and not credible.
