GT5 "Spec 2.0" Discussion Thread - Read the First post!

Two things would make me happy.

1) More tracks. It doesn't matter if they are from past GT's or completely new. This would keep me interested longer.

2) More garage customization. I would like to add as many tabs as we would like to make it easy to find similar class cars. Kinda like the favorites tab. Then I could have SuperGT, DTM, LMP, tuners, etc.

I would be really happy with the livery editor but can live without it. Would like more cars but can live without that too.
 
What happened to headtracking?? I bought the pseye just for GT5, tried to configure it, worked like crap...and only in arcade mode.
Way to go PD! 39 euros flushed down the toilet.

This thread has been successfully derailed in TWO ways.

1. Instead of this thread being about info about the next update, it just became a giant wishlist (which we already have threads for).

2. People bickering about complete nonsense.


If you ask me this should be locked, every post but the OP deleted. Then, when there is actually some information regarding the update, the OP be updated by a mod. That way people still can't post, because I have a feeling all the posts would still end up being a wishlist even though there is no point to it, or people getting upset they didn't get what they wanted.

Good job to those few posters who didn't just go along with the wishlists and bickering. My hat goes off to you.

Haven't checked this thread in a few days: have we gotten any hard, non-speculative info about what will be in Spec II or the DLC?
 
What i hope we get is:

1) New/classic circuits like Yas Marina, Singapore, Valencia, SPA, Silverstone, Red Rock Valley, Grindelwald, Midfield, Apricot Hill and many more.

2) If you crash into a tire wall it would be more realistic if it was like GRID.

3) Livery Editor is a must-have for a racing game. Imagine a Peniston Oil BMW or a Monster Energy Imprezza.

4) More cars. LMP, F1, Daytona Prototypes rally cars, drifters, Porshes

5) More circuits and Cars means (hopefully) more events. Daytona 24hr, Spa 24hr.

6) Night time and weather for more circuits. Racing in the night at Suzuka or in rain at Deep Forest.

7) Online friend invite is something we need. I don't want to send a message to my friends saying what restrictions the room has, what circuit, how many people and so on.

8) Online banning. If someone get kicked out of rooms x amount of times he/she will be banned for a week/month.

Worked pretty good for me.I like it better than the normal cockpit view because I can actually sit higher and further back and it actually look like your on the inside of your car.
I hope they eventually allow it in all modes.
Make sure you do it in a well lit room and have the setting set up right.

Probably because you're sitting close to the tv (or wherever you put the pseye).
I did my best to set it up from a distance of 2.5m. Nothing....the camera moved randomly, not when I moved my head.
 
Yea you probably had it set up wrong.The distance not suppose to make it do that because of the box that goes around your head .
You just gotta tweak around with it.
It was acting weird for me but when I lit the room up better it started working almost flawlessly.

That sucks, you have a month to get a new one. 250 bucks, ain't bad. If you have a job you can afford it, if youre a teen, cut grass for the neighbors. No excuses that you wont be able to play with GT planeteers with spec 2.0

Hmm don't think my neighbours will pay me to mow their lawn as they already have gardeners :@

I get £20 a week to mow the lawn at my house. So right now I have £30 plus £40 coming up so £70.

Plus I missed the free X2010 :(
 
I hope they will add C63 AMG Coupe, E63 AMG, S65 AMG, BMW F10 M5 and Golf R. The current line up for Merc, BMW, Volkswagen is pretty boring.

hello guys today is 1st of October (saturday) 2nd of october is Sunday 3rd is monday, so does that mean that today is first week of October? and 3rd of october (monday) is the second week?

Well i think first week = first seven days, i say this because if the 3rd it's already the 2nd week it's too fast for usual pd times lol

I was think about that too, Those Kaz count this Saturday and Sunday as first week in October or does it start on Monday.

If you count today as a week, then there would be 6 weeks this month haha.

I'm thinking it'll be between 16th and 22nd. The week after 'that which should not be named' is released. Going to download the demo for 'that which should not be named'.
 
Yeah I´m also optimistic about Spec II... Maybe we get mooooore Japanese cars :dopey:

The GT5P SpecII update was huge... and free 👍

The worst scenario would be if they only converted standards to premium... We still have soo old cars in GT5... Its incredible that PD missed it to implement new and actual cars...

Just a quick FYI, PD is a contracted developer. Having some familiarity with contracting work and B to B contracts I can categorically state that many of the stipulations posited in this thread do NOT resemble reality. I will put it to you this way (however PD and Sony's contract stipulations are under a NDA, so no one really knows)... But, at the time that Sony 'Signed' Pd to a their most recent contract, the Xbox360 and PS3 were just about to come out. This fact and coupled with the fact that GT5 is one of the highest selling series in video game history and the fact that M$ was looking to replicate their success (like they did with forza). Basically, PD could have named their price and terms of the contract which they signed. From what I have heard, PD signed either a 5 or 6 year contract that guaranteed two games. We can deduce this because PD averaged a title about every 2nd year in the past so... The delivered on their contract and now may be negotiating the next one. Sony owns most if not all of the Dlc proceeds that they store and sell on their servers and while some dev may get a cut these days but when the contract was originally negotiated, selling dlc was not exactly en vogue so one could see PD allowing any DLC proceeds to be taken by sony. At the same time sony almost surely only put stipulations on overall sales to make the contract valid. I would be shocked if they havent hit this. They are probably negotiating their next contract now and thus nothing much has happened or will happen unless PD isnt going to hit their numbers or Sony throws PD a bone to sell DLC both things havent happened or there would already be DLC for sale. That being said, If a new contract is signed, all bets are off as there will be more prescriptive terms in any future contract as obviously PD was not and could not be compelled to release what was supposed to be their marquis release with the then new PS3. These facts and others perfectly explain why PD has been dragging their feet the past 6 years and why things are finally progressing after years of stagnation and bickering.

this is all i want. more real life circuits plus some classics. maybe bathurst etc.

What I expect from Spec 2.0. is:

-More restrictive A-SPEC entry requirements, such PP or weight limit, licenses...
-Ingame saves
-Option of choose hour and time on Arcade Mode for Nordschleife & Le Mans (like online mode)

Wouldn't it be good if we could select/create performance categories by selecting each car? Would have for tighter categories = better racing
