GT5 Used Car Database [in progress]

Ok gentleman, I offer my services to this cause. I will use a "sleepy" PSN ID I have in my PS3 to do it from a game save day 1.

AND I will use Famine's excel sheet as the base-format for writing down the data. However, I won't record all the data he tracks. If it is alright with you guys I'll just record the basics. Which are:

Week - Make - Model - Colour - Year - Mileage ( I have it in kms, btw) - Level - Cost


Is this ok with you guys?

I would add that if you find that your day 1 does not match a list already out there that you use a consistent method when recording the order of the cars. The only way this master list is going to work in the end is to know exactly the order of the cars and not just which day they appeared on for you.👍

Is my list layout ok? I haven't been tracking the newer days because I missed a bunch but on my other account I plan on going back and filling in the earlier days since my list doesn't match up maybe filling it will help.

I just looked at your list and realized that my car numbers are not correct. I wrongly assumed that car 1 would be at the top left, basing off the format you used in your spreadsheet my format is for example:
day1 car6 - day1 car5 - day1 car4 - day1 car3 - day1 car2 - day1 car1
because I went top down. Sorry if that caused any issues :guilty:

I'll fix it up before I upload the next version.

That won't be any problem. It is easy for me to correct the order as long as I know how it was recorded. It took comparing my list to several others to determine what I believe is the order that PD is using.
 
I think you are matching Fastas list day 441 with an offset of a couple of cars. However you have the car order preserved in the car lot while Fastas list doesn't so it is providing information that I didn't have before.
 
I find it a just a tiny bit odd that the day 1 for DarkVVind, myself and Fastas is +-10 days on the cycle. Makes me hopeful that the cycle isn't terribly long. I'm well aware that this is completely wishful thinking though.

So I just checked my XMB and I'm at raceday 794, so is that probably a good time to start cycling to get a FGT?

Without knowing what your start list is so we know where you are on the cycle, no-one can answer that.
 
Hmm, not sure what to make of this online collectors dealership in the 1.05 update; I think I'm going to ignore it.

It makes a bit of a mockery of having rare cars. Has PD panicked and bolted all of a sudden? Anyway, I'm not going to record from it. I hope it's not a short cycle of 'desirables'.
 
Don't you guys think this update might have changed the used cars cycle, do you? I started "working" on this yesterday (when I finally got some free time) and now I'm not sure if I shouldn't simply restart ...
 
You know, Famine, this is all probably because you met Kazunori Yamauchi in person, he knew who you were on the site and that you would be the person to lead this quest, so he decided to play a little game with you. He saw someone equally determined to perfect something as himself and wants to play.

He likely added the Online Collectors Dealership because he has realized that a mind game with you was going too far for the average person. So, he left his little riddle for you to work out in the game but gave a reprieve to everyone else. It may even double as a test to see if you give up.


On purpose or not though, I will be shocked if you don't get at least an email when you figure this thing out.

One thing is for sure though, not many developers go to this degree to hide their patterns. I had the patterns in EAs AI algorithms for Monopoly worked out in my head after two games. I can beat them on the hardest difficulty without effort. I had to quit playing because it was too predictable.

But this, multiple users running multiple databases in multiple regions around the globe, and almost a month in no one has it yet. The man did not want it found by the undeserving, that's for sure.

If it is really random there is no point in recording it. At least the UCD is following an algorithm.

I agree it makes a mockery of having rare cars. I guess they had it prepared in case people started complaining about not finding the cars they want. Or we will have seasonal events where certain cars are required and this online dealership makes them easier to find for everyone.

It is listed with the last day on top, first day (620) at the bottom.
Cars are listed as shown in game.
First car is top left, last car bottom right.
The mileage and credits are listed but the color is generic as the way I first record the data is by photo then look at the photos then transfer the data to Excel.
I left out any info given in the second screen such as weight, power, actual color, etc. I also left out the level for each car.
The data in the list is enough to identify which car is which and eventually I will add all the info for each car.
This is my first time with Excel so if the file is not loaded correctly let me know.

This list matches up with no other list yet.

Considering these guys are pushing 1,000 days in and still haven't found the end of the cycle, and are even missing some cars, it is quite possible that PD realized it would be a necessity for people to progress at all.

This is great Kenny, may I suggest you use the spread sheet via your gmail account? I used it to catalog my WRS races back in the day. You can upload your current xls data so you don't have to retype the info.

I haven't been keeping track (unfortunately, I know, but I lack the willpower and the skills to work on a spreadsheet) but I'm at some 700+ days and I haven't had any overlap with any of the lists in this thread either.

We could very well have a 2,000-3,000 day long list to deal with.
 
I just have noticed that your used car lists differ from my game. : / For example many says that VW Bora V6 4motion comes to used cars on 27th day, but in my game it hasn't come on that day...

Nah man. You're coming in WAY late in the game (as did I...I'd logged for 5 days and then just checked the forum yesterday and found that an immense amount of work had already been done). Read back over the last dozen pages the catch up if you wan't, but:
1) there is a pattern, it is not random. The first day MAY be random, but then you plug into a cycle
2) the cycle is HUGE. No one has seen it repeat yet. Could be thousands of days
3) It is NOT different by region.
4) You're just on part of the cycle that no one has logged yet. That's a good thing for the bigger picture. What you should do is start logging yours. Maybe someone will start to see your pattern in their cycle, and know that they have "met" yours and can complete a gap by using your data

I've been through the lists posted here and suspect the pattern in my dealership has not been posted yet - correct me if I'm wrong. Here's a version which I'll try updating as much as possible.

You were correct that your pattern had not been posted yet. I've been away and hadn't updated my list in awhile. If you download my latest list my day 287 matches your day 305.

I've also just started to overlap part of crazedmodder's list so that is good news.
 
It's strange, my first 30 cars corresponds exactly with Famine's, except mine started (top left) with the Ford GT (No Stripe), but from then on, there's differences between our two lists. I've recorded so far from game day 1 to game day 47 and it matches up in places but not entirely.
Of course, it's likely that I'm reading your data wrong since it's set out differently from mine, mine is simply one spreadsheet with day 1 (top left to bottom right) then day 2 (top left to bottom right) etc. Is yours set out so, for instance, on the day 6 page, the actual cars on that page are ordered with day 6 at the top and day 2 at the bottom? Effectively in reverse order of my list? That would probably explain why I can't find any similarities beyond Day 1.

Yes. Most recent cars at the top, same as in the used car screen itself.
 
I have 15 days of my UCD logged. Days 461-475.
I have no overlap with TornadoAlley....That's the only data i've checked....I have some cars not in that list too.

Would it help if I started a new savegame to see what the situation was the days before your list starts?

Actually that would be very helpful to fill in some more data.

I've stopped collecting info regarding the Cr. and km for the cars to speed up the process. Someday they might get filled in but I don't have the time right now.
