GT5 Used Car Database [in progress]

Im just gonna jump in here and tell you what i found out, sorry if its already stated somewhere but im in a rush, 5 races = 4 days.
I to have found the usd rotaton is the same list from day one using the same disc on the same console with diffrent accounts.

p.s incase you didn't know you can enter the race and leave and enter and leave as many times as you like keeping track on paper or in your head and calculate how many days have elapsed to save going back to main menu and quiting game etc.

I noticed this as well awhile ago. At first I didn't want to do it because I thought it would wreck your win/lose ratio....BUT, since gt5 doesn't have that feature...all is good. Ive been keeping track on paper til I get my Formula GT. I've got about 146 days to go til one shows up in my ucd.

(Highlighting in the quote above is mine...) Saw a post earlier about this as well... I'm confused... Isn't there a Formula GT right now in the Online Dealer? Since they started this feature, there's been one of these included with every update, just in different color schemes.

Far as I can tell, the pricing is the same, so why wait for it in the UCD?

ok thanks. i just needed to know because i am cutting the famine/fastas list out of my personal list for the time being so that it loads up quicker online
 
I have a feeling the length of this list stems from the fact that PD needs to make available not only each make and model of car, but also each color, while still maintaining control over which cars are the rarest. A car with twenty or so colors is not necessarily the one they want to be the most available car, so they spread out the list by adding duplicates of cars with less colors that they wanted more available. This may be why the first several times we see a car it is in the same color, to act as a spacer for the more rare cars.

Just a theory though. Too bad we didn't take data for all the colors, as it might be an indicator of how close we are to finding the end of the list.

Actually this dawned on me this afternoon, and I'm about to test a theory...

Early in the game in my first account I bought a RUF BTR, silver, with about 75 miles on it...the latest BTR's I've encountered are pale blue with 54,000 miles...

I'm cycling 4 more accounts at the moment and am curious to see if that original RUF shows up or a blue one shows up...also will test the VW Beetle '49 car, my original buy was grey, all others have been black...

That is interesting and if the case we might be looking at a list longer than I want to consider. Another point to note is I believe that users starting out in the other half of the list (where Fastas data resides) were seeing the same color cars at the beginning as my half of the list.

I am doing a test upload where I split the list into two sheets (still one document). The loading time may not be much faster but it will save me adding rows in between the two lists as we fill in more data.

I don't know what to call the lists as there are so many contributors. List 1 is data from my region of the list and list 2 is where Fastas region is found.

Compiled List Split

If I get enough positive comments then I'll probably change the current compiled list to be split (so everyone's bookmark still works).



Edit: I have changed the car counts to reflect what is appearing in each part of the list. It is interesting to note that List 1 has seen 800 unique cars and list 2 has seen 802 unique cars. I haven't had time to do any more comparison yet.

Yeah, I know...everything I need and/or want is online...problem is, I don't have an online connection for racing. I haven't gotten around to getting all the hardware I need. I'm slogging through the game old-school style. I should probably start a thread and have the mods sticky it, titling it something like, "The I Don't Race Online Thread"...or something. lol
 
I just wanted to shout out a HUGE thank you to all those working on these lists. I have now found where I am on the list and it's fun to look ahead and see what cars are coming up. I can plan to have funds available to buy the ones I want.

I'm a long ways away from any unfilled areas, but if I come across some I'll be sure to help out.

the only downside i can see from having 2 separate lists is it would be harder for somebody new to find where they are at in the cycle. instead of searching in one spreadsheet, they would possibly have to search in 2 sheets

Are you sure your original Beetle wasn't a prize car?

I have been tracking colour names on my list - only 300 days so far however - but can't check the RUF colours as they're unnamed. I haven't yet seen any instance of a car appearing in two different colours, other than the high/low mileage Charger 440.

I would suggest you read through more of the thread so that you understand how this list works. It looks to me like your are around day 555 on the compiled list. Did you list the cars exactly like they are displayed in your UCD?

If you load the compiled list in my sig and go down to about master day 1733-1737 you should find your spot.

Yes...that's probably very possible....could have been a Level 5 ticket or a 1000km....
 
Hi,

Here is my last continuous sequence of cars. After these days I was missing only about 30 cars and I didn't feel like recording all the cars from UCD anymore as there was typically only 0-2 unowned cars in each five day cycle. It also seems that once you find a rare car, like R8 LMS, it will soon appear again. It happened numerous times.

I cycled to up to around game day 1650 in five day cycles until I had all the cars except Lancer IV rally car '97. I tried additional 100 days to find the missing car, but gave up. I finally got the missing rally car by running intermediate special rally event on my other account.

Currently running "automatic" a-spec grind on dreamcar championship indy track. This is quite easy way to level up, ~9800 exp/108k cr in 7:45 min, change oil once a day, other than that I can leave GT5 running by itself and do something else. I've gone from lvl 33 to lvl 35 in about 48 hours. This way I might actually play all the events, ONCE. If I had to drive 24h Le Mans four or five times to reach level 40/24h Nurb, there is no chance in **** that I would ever do that.

My current game day is 2270 and haven't been able to match days to those which have been documented in the compiled list.
