GT5P lags after update

For those experiencing slowdown: are you using the cockpit view? The load on the rendering engine should be highest with this view, and an overloaded renderer would cause frame rate to drop.

This lag is happening to me to.All time trials and free runs ON and Offline are affected in all views.I have tried all resolutions with interlaced and progressive but all are the same.I now have no way to set cars up without joining a race. Strangely all races and the Drift trial are not affected.
Very disappointing indeed.how do i go back to Spec 2?

Mine lags now too running on a 1080p set. I have tried online and arcade, both seem to have just enough of a frame rate issue to drive me crazy. The only view I use is the cockpit, so maybe that's my problem. I really hope it gets fixed, if not I won't even be able to play it the way it is now. It did seem like I noticed it more in the new California ferrari, but that might be because that is the car I had been trying out the most.

Hi there! I have this problem too in time trial but it seems that doesn't affect everyone? Maybe reinstalling fix this? Anyone fixed this or is it general but one's noticed and other didn't?

I have it too. When I drive Ferrari California and have interior view. There must be bug somewhere in the interior displaying, because when I look back, the landscape is flowing smoothly and when I select any of other views, then it's smooth too.

The lag is also visible in the replays... especially when you see the car from a big distance it sometimes seems like it is skipping over the tarmac....looks like a bumpy ride.

Same here for Ferrari california and Evora mainly at Fuji (less on the other tracks) and only with cockit view.
Bumper, roof and car view - all smooth.
Other cars are OK.

I had a dozen of downloading errors. Maybe the new update installed wrong...

Hopefully they will fix this soon. Online racing is very important, the longer they take to fix...they more people will dislike the game. It's a win or break situation. Alot my friends has stopped playing because the online lags big time....it's not smooth. Come on PD....fix this already! :P

i'll try it tonite, but since the update, i've really only been in Drift trial at Eiger polishing up my skills. I pretty much ALWAYS use inside/cockpit view. I enjoy the interiors/working gauges and it feels the most realistic using the G25. I will try time trial tonite to see if this lag/frame-rate issues affect me as well. I'm on a 32" 1080p samsum HDMI cable.

Online is smoother than ever for me... only freerun (when your alone on the track) laaaags badly. Doesn't technically make sense, but that's how it is!

I currently feel really rather sick. I've been doing the online time-trial with the California at Suzuka and I'm getting well under 10fps - I can say the word "frame" between every frame being draw. No idea if it happens with other cars and tracks, this is the first I tried after the update and I feel too sick to try anything else now.

40GB PAL PS3, European GT5p, 576i TV, bumper/fender view.

I had some other quit disturbing thing going on today.
Starting up prologue and i got the message that there was an update(!) so it downloaded real quickly and there was the movie starting: showing the california etc... so what happend?
When i looked in my garage everything was there as it was before i downloaded the spec3 update the day it came out.
i worried, rebooted the ps3 and prologue and yes it was back to when i saved yesterday.

I found this really strange, and so my question is : has anyone else had this "thing" going on?

before saying, yes i downloaded the spec3 update as said on the day it came out and have been paying alot since then.

Still very strange. I swear it only lags when Im alone on any track with any car (freerun or timetrials) !??

:ouch: same here, :scared: bad framerate only when i'm running without opponents (freerun and timetrial)
and PD don't solve it!!! :banghead: 🤬

Why dont you try reinstalling the full game? my Prologue has perfect framerate on that modes.

I came across when trying a setup change with the Ferrari 430 in free practice at Suzuka earlier today. Seems like there is somethin wrong with the latest update, as the framerate drop is very bad in practice.

Exactly what happened to me on my brother's Playstation. Free run, Suzuka, F430. The frame rate was horrendous. Very hard to play it like that. He has a SDTV. My copy doesn't do this and I have a HDTV.

Are you guys with frame rate problems since the update all SDTV?

Problems still after reinstall and deleted savegame "#%&$&%#$"% :ouch:
i need to try after ps3 update, but i guess it will keep problems! :nervous:

It's some sort of bug with specific video settings / output, is my guess. Those with the problem:

What is your TV, video resolution, and what kind of cable do you use?

SDTV PAL 576i (720x576) standard cable (from the box). After Spec III update GT lags in Time Trial and time events (like the one with Ford GT on HSR).

I bet PD is rendering game engine always in 1280x1080 and PS3 internal scaler fits it into actual screen resolution. All the lags and framerate drops are present either in highest or in lowest possible resolution.

Anyone know if this still happens since the 2.52 firmware update?
Still happens with 2.52. I guess we'll have to wait for the next GT5p update to cure it.
