So strange. As I said in post race chat, I was performing very well, very concistent in the mid/high 43's, rarely into the 44's, but now that I look at the race results, I see I was actually the slowest car on the grid (john excluded as he retired)
I just dont know what I did wrong... Sure, I ended up last because of a bad Q and a few misstakes, would have been batteling jfrod if it was'nt for all that. But the fact I was the slowest car on the grid baffles me...

Checked replay no incidents, off's, spins or bumps. Thanks @Stephen Vann for sharing what @TRL_Andromeda had told you. The change to DF and L/S/D worked great, car was just as fast but way more stable 👍.

Race Report:

So Monkey got past(passed?), and didn't 2 stop! And that was that lol, no touching him yesterday, so well done and you deserved it 👍

Must also add the closing laps were very scary, pole sitter and fastest lap setter Nissman was closing down like a homing torpedo, up to and often over 1s a lap chunks and had there been one more race lap, I would have 1.) been overtaken, and 2.) run out of fuel. Almost that video repeating itself @nissman !

In summary though and as it happened - I think I could have won, had I (ahem)...not had a Monkey on my back

My report

A mistake in lap 1 (again :banghead:

) killed my race. After this lap my gap with the group was 13.9 seconds. Too far from all of you. But I love this track and I enjoy to drive here. I have to say that after 90 min Im happy with my performance. Most of the laps were medium and low 43s and my best was 1.43.08 (very close of fastest lap).
I finished 5th with 14 sec gap from the winner.

@nissman Do you think that one pit stop would be better for you?

I think so, especially after 2 pace laps we done before start. I had track position over Monk, he was 4 sec behind at 30 min, the HSV was better on long run so I think Monk would catch me eventually near the end of race but would he get pass me on this track where it's so hard to overtake is another question, so yes I think I would be much closer to the win than on 2 stop. Interesting last season at Motegi I went on 1 stop at it looked to be the wrong decison, this season a 2 stopper was the wrong decison.

I still dont know which decisión is the right one. In both seasons I went on 2 stops. Last season finished 2º, and yesterday i finished with the same gap that I had after first lap. Maybe next season I try 1 stop
