Yes I have had it freeze a couple of times, twice in the game and once on the loading screen on one occasion it restarted the PS3 and gave the message about wanting to check the files which of course I canceled and went back into the game with no problems.

The 2 times it froze in game were
1: I tried to select Tsukuba in test drive mode but it went to Monza. I backed out and tried again and it froze.
2: I accidentally went into multiplayer mode and selected nurburgring before I noticed that i was in the wrong mode, I meant to create an online race. I backed up to the track selection then tried to go back from there and the game stopped responding. I quit the game and restarted, no reboot, no messages.

I have had the game since release and played it everyday and aside from the one loading hang the others were a minor inconvenience at worst. No biggie.

I have also had a few issues with PSN the first week I had the game and a couple of times thought it was frozen but it wasn't, instead it was a problem with the PSN connection that caused GT to appear frozen for I don;t know at least several seconds possibly a couple of minutes, always seems longer when you are setting there waiting for the screen to show you something

I have the game since almost two weeks. Only froze once while pausing it and turning the racing line on. But that's it.

I've owned the game since launch day with nothing more then some unusually long loading times. Though, with so many others getting a freezing issue, it's only a matter of time until I get my first one.

It seems we either have several deluded or uneducated people here, or they just haven't bothered to read correctly and do the maths. GT6 has only been out for 24/25 days, which as far as I know has always been less than a month.

OR was the OP just trying to reveal the people who have been playing since day one without any sleep? :odd:

Anyway, only played since Christmas day, on V1.02, without any freezing issues.

I have the game since the 22nd, I've had my first and only freeze at the 27th, when the countdown to a GT500 online race at Mt. Panorama was around 20 sec, I was passing through the Hell Corner and the game freezed, I waited for like 2 minutes and then I decided to restart, but the PS3 didn't come up with that thing saying it needs to check your data as it does when it happens

Please answer the poll whether or not you have had a freezing issue on your console. I'm mainly referring to the freezes that result in a the PS3 requiring a file checkup.

You might consider asking people to post type of PS3, type of HD, Blu-ray or digital version.

PS3 slim here, SSD, Blu-ray version, game 80% complete, played since USA release date.
No freezes here, did have audio drop out once, seems related to auto-demo.
No recurrences since disabling function.

Thanks for creating this thread. :)

Valid point, could be hardware related and not software.
I also run PS3 slim, SSD with blu-ray disc.

I had some freezing issues before the v1.02 update.it usually happends when the game is done auto saving and I turn off my ps3.this happened about 4-5 times in the same month.im using a 500 gb super slim

Nope, not yet :) first 2 weeks running in 720P, then I run it in 1080P. Smooth experience so far, no freeze or anything. Always quit the game via XMB quit option.

I'm running PS3 slim, originally 120GB but now with a 1TB drive, Blu-ray anniversary edition from release day, and I haven't had an in game lock up, but the console did lock up whilst downloading the 1.02 patch, which I can't see being related to the game itself as it was simply downloading from PSN, not installing or using the game disc at the time.

Slim120,bR > running GT6 since 6th and It Freezed 2 times after small updates and once online after my router decide to quit . Nothing serious except starring 2 minutes @ "rebuilding" screen :D Otherwise everything is ok.

Had it freeze once to the point the PS3 had to reboot and it asked for a system/file check or something, other than that the game did freeze once more, more but I could exit the game from the XMB and gestart to play without issues.

Btw, technically nobody has the game for more than a month at this point, that is, if you don't count the few that got the game (a week or two) before the 'official' launch date. But since this poll will probably be open for a while longer, after next week, people will be having the game for longer than one month :p

Only on the 1.02 update. Haven't even had frame rate drops after that, it's running perfectly (250GB Slim).

No offence, but what's the point of this?
Everybody knows GT6 freezes up everynow and again, so 99℅ of the answers will be yes, of course.
You just wasted a thread bro! :D

Blame the hardware perhaps then ? GT6 pushes the hardware harder than any other game, maybe Fallout 3 GOTY, Last Of Us, GTAV and MGS4 can compete with it. I never have any issues, GT6 is perfect so far, not even audio drop out. I drive so many miles already, maybe close to 5000 ( races and a lot of test drive/tuning/testing )

Only once but it was right after installing a new ssd. I also had a controller and my wheel hooked up at the same time as well as running the Xbull races for the first time. I believe it had everything to do with the new drive but it did freeze on me and required a SYSTEM CHECK

It has frozen twice on online, but that can be caused by several things, for example a network failure.

And as someone pointed out. No one has been playing since a month or more because the game wasn't even out...

owned since launch (although it hasn't been a month yet since the game came out...) and hasn't frozen on me once yet... fat 40GB with new HD here...

Got it on release day 6th Dec (so how can people have had it over a month?) played every single day for hours had no trouble at all until 3 days ago it froze on Mount Panarama, night time, rain.

One and only freeze, touch wood!

Only time the game had freeze on me, was my fault, doing the VGT glitch select the car by mistake:dunce:

So 41 people here have been playing for over a month even though the game has been out less than a month and even those who got it early have not had it over a month yet. So basically 33% of the people who responded thus far are lying ;)

Also note when it comes to freezing online it may not even be freezing as when it looses connection it will keep trying to get data for a while, long enough that it will appear to be frozen but if you leave it alone you will eventually get a server error message and the game will return to normal

I got my game the morning it came out. It was running slow and chunky the first week, then it froze on the epilepsy warning screen. After the file check I tried clearing the cache daily. The speeds picked up and after another week I felt the game was stable and running like it should. It's worked great since.
