Well done, Hall - smart playing. Anyone who has actually done this challenge will agree - it's a lot harder than it sounds.
Now I have to try again. Maybe stash away an MTM card.

@GTsail290 Excellent rabbit hunting. So the answer to the question "How many cars can you overtake?" seems to be one. Would two be possible? If not I can't see a way of making a contest out of it still. If you have any ideas you're welcome to my ticket.

Nice going with the Yellowbird - 👍 - a fresh challenge for me to go after. Don't worry too much if you can't come up with a challenge - there is only so much we can do with one event. You can always try the next one - due in just over a week.

Tried out a few events..... Hoping I don't finish last.... Except for my pathetic Volvo time, which I know will finish last!:O

I don't think that I could catch two cars, but maybe one of our resident alien drivers could. On one of my races, the next car was about 3-4 seconds further up the road, so it might just be possible if the 11th place car was another slow rabbit. For me, just catching the caboose was good enough to make the repeated races worth the time:)
During the first four laps, its quite un-certain if you will catch the backmarker:nervous:, but towards the end of the 5th lap, it starts to look possible, and then you begin the 6th lap and just reel him in!:)

If only O. Griffith in the Mini Cooper '02 would have pushed down a littler harder on the gas pedal, a 1.5 second gap could have been possible!

Look how far back O. Griffith in the Mini Cooper '02 is!

Note how Keskitalo in the Rallye and Delaunay in the Clio are impatient to go and are pushing the whole pack. Griffith in the Cooper and Mathis in the Sera are laggards - backmarkers placed in the field by the game to slow you down in the beginning of the race. Reeves, in the March, is one of the worst. They should be kicked into the middle of the field a couple of laps from the finish. :dopey:
Quite a fun exercise, and this car is a blast to drive - not easy to get tired of tooling it around Tsukuba like you own the track - and can make the car turn on a dime if you wish.

In a sense this is like also corralling a bunch of wild mustangs - we are carboys. After some attempts at this it is amazing to feel the power and agility in the Roadster - able to accelerate ahead at the drop of a hat, stop in its tracks, turn like a shark hunting blood, and is quite ferocious if allowed to contact and battle.
I won't be surprised if the pace aces in here crack 1:00.

I see the other events have taken off quickly, too - now the grim battles through the last weekend before the home stretch. Good Luck Racers! May the best driver win! :)

OP updated to this post.

I'm not surprised Johnny Mathis is a bit slow. He's eighty you know. First crooner AI I've seen.

Water never got above 30%, so I stuck with RS the whole race. the mistakes I made are just worth a second or 2, and I might have lost another 2 seconds or so due to carefull driving towards the end. Nevertheless, I'm very pleased with this time.:)

I also saved the replay if anyone wants to see.

Would be great to see :gtpflag:

Will try to 'tune up' this old wagon Volvo. Hope to get an 'Eagle' pot if can't get a 'Hole in one' as Ed Night.

Saw R. Piccolo gets maniac from the replay. He overtook all the front runners when started from 4th position to lead the race as early as possible. When I overtook him, he looks more angry and doesn't want me to win. This makes me stressful the whole race not to make any silly mistake. :O

@photonrider Big thanks for all your work putting these events together. Great choices for the new races. Looking forward to trying all of them. To kick things off I had a go in the F40 at Matterhorn. It's probably not going to be the fastest horse but it can't be beat for enjoyment.
20151121_192024.jpg

I've got an idea for the beginner event which I will post later. I'm not clear on the ticket for winning the Yellow Bird trophy. Is it a restricted (no aids) or open event?

@StirlingMoose - on the fly right now but saw your question and see you're online - so quick response. Options are all yours - the event is restricted to Licenced Hunters. Torture us. :)

Thanks for kind comments - much appreciated. 👍

For the intermediate event (Safety Car Chief ticket) let's see how those AI cars react to this beauty old Mercedes Benz 300 SL Coupe Chrome Line. Fastest time win. Haven't tested yet. Maybe not easy to win

As promised here is the beginner event.

Beginner level race at Eifel.
Mitsubishi i-MiEV '09
Highest placing, fasted time if tied.

It's going to be hard getting to the front here, and even harder staying there if you do. The car isn't fast and there are no power upgrades available, but it does handle rather well (it's classed as MR), despite looking like a four-wheeled tuk-tuk.

Initially I thought about trying it stock but then I saw the specs. So did the tyres, power and weight upgrades and left everything else stock. No aids for that authentic 50s feeling. It's a wild ride for sure. Required a lot of concentration just to get round without hitting anything. And that last downhill into the sharp right-hander is super tricky without abs. I recommend trying it like this for fun before getting on to the business of actually winning.

Had a blast (off) in the Rocket too.
