A couple of NASCAR entries. These brought back memories of when I was doing the career in skinflint mode and the NASCAR car was the best one for the job. I also remember giving up on the "Like the Wind" one until I'd won something faster. Driving to Wales and back on the M4 is not really my idea of fun.

From the above entry, history shows that when we stretch the band as tight as possible - in essence dragging the lead rabbit as fast as he can run - Allison in the 88C-V can do a max of 4:09.---, which is far faster than the time he put in here battling nowayback:

So what this shows is that - given the opportunity - the rabbits will battle us to the second.
If Allison took off and did what he was truly capable of (4:09.---) then he would have beaten nowayback.

I find it hard to believe these rabbits don't race us with statistics like this that show they are not merely lapping blindly but actually aware of the playerskills/car-selection combo and adjust automatically.
When the band is snapped as nowcontrol did while using the LM55 they fell back to racing among themselves at the max speed.

More details of what we did with Allison and Co before, in here:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gt6-ai-hub-the-heat-is-on.320606/page-4
I got 1st quite early on, they are not too eager to pass, usually. But Allison and few others were. Let them pass a bit then drafted and passed them again. Wasn't too eager to test them too much though. If I hadn't passed Allison so early he would have been gone.

So with the holiday events currently ongoing, I guess we'll have to wait until the New Year for new events that actually have Beginner, Intermediate and Expert levels assigned to them, eh?

If that's the case, I'll take this opportunity to wish EVERYONE a happy holiday season... be safe and happy people!

Cheers

@photonrider Post 1381 - my 4:48.646 was for the Dream Car Championship Race 2 NASCAR Windstormer, not SSR7 Gearhead, which I didn't post a time for.

Whoopsie. :O
Corrected now, Moose.

@TheInfamousJEW6 - sorry, mate, he spotted it.
*returns bribe.

Does this mean no new events till the new year? I can't say I'm particularly inspired by PD's offerings.

We've had so much pressure applied to each other by ourselves that it is nice to take a little bit of a break.
We have to remember, too, that many new players are only now picking up (or downloading) GT6 - and there may be hundreds of thousands of players worldwide that don't have the prize cars already or lack credits.
As seasoned (and consistent) players, we not only have a better grasp of the game (and a more educated critique to offer) but can also tend to get tired of same-old same-old, always looking for something fresh.
I will put up some events soon - events more focused on fun than technical skill - for the holidays, and when PD gets back to feeding us the regular fodder we'll go back to crunching those numbers again.

I see that you have overtaken the Baron on the Trophy List and are now in 4th position chasing MTM79 - great work!

Oh my, the Red Devil! The last time I drove that beast I had to turn on TC, and then I had to get MadMax to show me how it was done. How many sets of tires did it need? One set per lap? I think this is going to fun.

With racing tires and and srf it's not such a beast after all. Quite docile actually. But those poor tires. Only just made it with three stops (RH, RH, RH, RM) and that was nursing them a lot of the way. I'm wondering now if four stops on RM might work better.

20151222_192152.jpg

Hilarious antics from the old hardtop Corvette. Passed him near the end of the lap, sliding about in a cloud of smoke on obviously shot tires. I went into the pits and was amazed to see him go straight past. When I caught him again there was no car visible. I was just chasing a cloud, out of which emerged the Corvette, initially at 90 degrees to the track, then flailing about in front of me before eventually catching it. Wish I'd saved the replay now. Must have been an interesting lap for him.

Took a longer break here, because i don't like driving with SRF.

But i couldn't resist the new TT challenge, epic choice @nowayback.

It is a diabolical challenge - I'm beginning to wonder what goes on in that nut of nowayback's. I'm sorry you missed some of the races in here that were non-SRF (in fact we had all aids off) that were arranged for Licenced Hunters - maybe we can arrange a few more in the new year.
GT6 is winding down anyway - but I'm glad we've done over a hundred events - and we'll keep going till whatever new comes up that we will all move over to.
Good to see you back and making the other speedsters antsy.

My entries for the "GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD" event...

Total Time: 7:05.133

Cheers

Great. Now I have another lunatic to help me get into trouble on the Moon.
But we need a third astronaut, don't we? Should I extend the event till the New Year?
I thought this event was easy? :D

Super job on the 'Peak Performer' event - you really drew out that peak-performing rabbit - racing the fastest AI and winning the race is always a pump-up.
Now you have to master the arcs at Death Valley.

With racing tires and and srf it's not such a beast after all. Quite docile actually. But those poor tires. Only just made it with three stops (RH, RH, RH, RM) and that was nursing them a lot of the way. I'm wondering now if four stops on RM might work better.

TBH, I only completed the race twice so I could get a quick leaderboard to put up, used RMs in the first race, but didn't work. switched to RS, RH, RH, RS and got a better time. It's just one pit-stop too many. can't get the RH's to go a full four laps unless some drastic suspension tweaking takes place that takes off all tire-scrubbing

But I'm leaving it to a GTPlanet driver to suddenly come up with a podium. Or even outright stomp the hell out of that Devil and get a win.

I'm going to kill him. I had to restart both attempts because of that rabid cuss. He's programmed to hate the player.

Actually if it was real life, penalties or no, he'd be punched in the kisser as soon as the race was over.

First crack with the red devil, there is about 10 sec still to find due to settings improvements and less mistakes, and probably another 5 sec due to driving improvements etc. So in theory, 1'st is possible, but I fear the rabbits will speed up accordingly...
In practicality, I believe 2'nd is the best result possible. But I really do want 1'st, so we'll see.

Either way, Benchmark:
20151224_020323.jpg

Oh, and BTW, I did 4 stops, all stints 2 laps on RM.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

First crack with the red devil, .......... But I really do want 1'st, so we'll see.

That's the spirit. 👍 And it looks like I have to find another three minutes, never mind seconds.
Still . . . that gives me a lot of room for improvement now that I know what can be really done.

After a bit of a break I booted up the console to run this event to get an initial leaderboard. Did the race twice, then my console crashed immediately after the second completed race. Ding, ding, ding, ding . . . .
Had to hard quit it. Haven't started it up again after that - but hopefully the problem doesn't return.
Doesn't seem like everybody is having this problem, though - so I wonder what triggers it.

View attachment 494980 Red Devil, used RH-RH-RM-RM . Except for last pit, dont use recommended amount of fuel, try to figure out how much you need for your stint.

This is crucial. More than tire wear, the seconds spent being delayed at the pits taking unneeded fuel is what can cripple us. Very astute fuel management is needed, apart from babying the tires.
A 4-stop speed run seems to be the way to go - and as TRL_Andromeda confirmed RMs would be the coice for an express run.

I like this car - it's all blood and guts, and gad, when you get it moving it runs like the devil.

I tried a 3-stopper (RH-RH-RM-RM) and while it was faster, it just wasn't enough. I just lost so much time on the last lap of the stint, as the tyres was just gone, I tried to nurse the tyres better, but time loss was just too much. Finally I said "SCREW IT" and decided to go for a 4 stopper on RH tyres only. this ment I could apply a more aggressive setup, and go for a full on charge, 100% push for 10 laps straight. Not caring one bit about tyre management. and well... the result was astonishing really:

Whats even more crazy is that I did this with just 616pp, as my oil has worn off from previous attempts, who knows what could be done with full power...
20151226_033514.jpg

The fact is that even though I was on RH tyres instead of RM, both laps got faster, not only the 2'nd lap, but even the first lap as well, simply because I could attack the track more vigorously.

I was able to finish in 6th place with the Red Devil with a time of 26:02.863. If I can find 2 more seconds maybe I can catch F.Heikkinen in the Ford GT LM Test Car and climb up another place.:) My pit crew is certainly getting tired of changing the tires on my Red Devil after I run them down to the cords:eek:
