Incoming . . . :scared:

Our Mission Statement in the OP states, among other things, that this project is to foster the game between all levels of players, from raw Beginners to accomplished Experts in the spirit of healthy and sporting competition.

It was because of this that the Whoosier Rule came into effect; to protect all Levels from being swept up by one player entering and winning every Title - much like a 10th Grader taking the prizes away from the 5th Form and Kindergarten too.

The Whoosier Rule enabled and encouraged Beginners to enter the Hunt for Trophies too, and not only compete with others on a similar level for the greatest amount of sport and improvement in skill, but also to fraternize and learn from the Experts.
It also encouraged Experts to come in and show how well a particular event could be done, setting benchmarks for all levels to aim for, and also providing an opportunity for Experts to battle Experts on discrete and level playing fields of their own for the most cutting-edge sport possible.

The 'Whoosier Rule' - 2 words - stand for a very complex idea that protects the Title Game in here from any troll, hacker, or even transient alien to enter the Hunt suddenly and take every Title for any particular round at any given time.
Long-time GT Hunters (and anyone who has read Post #2) know the rule simply as 'To each their own.'

To sum up - the definition of the Whoosier Rule simply means a player cannot win more than one title from any particular round of Whoosier-ruled Events.

So we use this term to put that all in a nutshell as well as honour WhoosierGirl who demonstrated in the beginning of this GT Title Series that a top-gun alien could, if they wanted, take all the titles in any given round - and so firmly set the bars in place that prevented that.

This doesn't give the chance for Experts who are in here regularly to compete in many races, so further Special Levels were created - restricted to Qualified Experts Only or Bonus Open-to-All events for added fun and opportunity towards good sporting events and extra Titles of Achievement to be earned for aliens, too.

Okay, moving on -

Now that all players who read all that should be up to date on the Whoosier Rule and the various Levels - let's move on to the 'RMan Effect' - again 2 words to describe a complex idea.

This has happened before, but it never exploded across the leaderoards until quite a few more than the regular quota of Events were set up last round.

This coincided with the arrival of a player who was all over all the Events quite enthusiastically and causing a ripple effect right down all the Boards - even the Events this player wasn't eligible for - such as the Restricted events reserved for Qualified GT Hunters to partake in.
The RMan Effect.

That's enthusiasm for you - and it's great - but as easy as it is to merely DQ the ineligible entries - when RMan72 entered and was at the top of the Board for many events he was actually eligible for, the ripple effect it caused nearly washed ashore as a tsunami for the runners-up in those events.

Because Runeers-up stand to gain Trophies if there is an alien going wild at the top of all the Boards. The Whoosier Rule protects them.

Actually I'm looking forward to the effect surfacing again - and I know it will reoccur when players get the idea that entering the events is what pays off - not just being at the top of a particular leaderboard only. Entering the right mix of events pays off, too. Look at the list below - final leaderboards at the end of a theoretical round - and Mr Red causing a ripple effect by dominating the Boards - the effect we will refer to simply as the Rman Effect:

The RMan Effect - Mr. Red is causing The RMan effect - all over the Boards and at the top:

A - Entry level - WR
1. Mr Red
2. Mr Green
3. Mr. Blue

B - Beginner Level - WR
1. Mr. Red
2. Mr. Green
3. Mr. Bue

C - Intermediate Level - WR
1. Mr. Red
2. Mr. Green
3. Mr. Bue

D - Expert Level - WR
1. Mr. Red
2. Mr. Green
3. Mr. Purple

E - Open Event - No WR
1. Mr Red
2. Mr Purple
3. Mr Orange

F - Restricted Event - No WR
1 . Mr Red
2. Mr Purple
3. Mr Orange

Let's look at Mr Red's performance over the course of this one round above.

Mr Red is causing the RMan Effect now. The RMan Effect
forces the Whoosier Rule deeper into play, as it further protects those who are doing their best to climb up the boards and uphold our Mission statement.
If not for the Whoosier Rule, the RMan Fffect would have Mr Red getting 5 of the 6 Titles - even after being DQ'd in Race F and the 6th title going to Mr Purple.

But - because of the Whoosier Rule, Mr Red - even causing the RMan effect - was only able to take away 2 Titles ( 1 WR and 1 Open).

Here is where the ripple caused by the RMan Effect starts:
When he picked Title A - The RMan Effect caused Mr Green to be hit with the Whoosier Rule - because now Mr Green was in line for multiple Titles. Mr Green picked Title B.

After Mr Green picked Title B, Mr Blue took Title C and Mr Purple took Title D because Mr Red and Mr Green already had swiped the Titles they wanted.

Title E was an Open Event (no WR) so Mr Red snagged his second title.

In the Restricted Event (which was actually off-limits to Mr Red since he wasn't qualified - (he entered Entry Level, too) Mr. Purple scored again since he was P2.

As we can see even causing an RMan Effect, Mr Red was actually matched at the Trophy game by Mr. Purple.
The Whoosier Rule snapped the rubberbanding that an alien does to this game of gaining Titles.

As one can see now - this is more than just a bunch of Time Trials - we're actually playing a driving/racing/levelling/trophy/points game in here - almost the kind of game we played in GT A-Spec Racing pre-GTAcademy's gaming focus on a TT philosophy.
In addition - the stronger the RMan Effect the more fun the levelling game, the more tension in the final dealing of the cards as we finish a round and look as to who played the races well according to their skills and snagged the most amount of trophies while dodging the bullets fired by the Whoosier Rule, but using the Rman Effect to the best advantage.

Because of the Whoosier Rule - even with the strongest RMan Effect in play - not often has a player won more than one or two titles at a time - though this has been done a few times - By MTM79, Vic Reign93, steve nfs and notably nowayback - the latter earning so many Winning Design-an-Event Tickets in one go at a time he created the nowayback Clause whereby Winners could keep the Titles they legally won but give away their Tickets to players who wanted to design events.

To make it further trickier, some Events come with Titles but no winning Design-an-Event tickets - obviously to prevent a logjam of Events being designed and presented all at once - a logjam further prevented by the fact that these Tickets have a limited life.

With this in mind over the weekend there will be several new racing/driving events added to compete in, expanding The RMan Effect, of course, and making the Whoosier Rule really work to make good its premise - 'To each their own.'

Winning a 'Double' or even getting a 'Hat-trick' (3 legitimate Titles) is then difficult and exceptionally well-executed and whoever does that also gets 'their well-deserved own'.

There we go. The great Voice from the Blue Akshic Record Keeper Eternally Recording has spoken.
But is this all I have to offer for now?
Oh! No. There is something else going on in the game now. Something Moose got away with once before and was overlooked and we carried on . . . and seems like one of the new players is trying it . . . will they get away with it?
Got to keep an eye on those Moose-like antlers. I mean, antics, antics . . . sly fellows, meeses. Mooses. Big. But stealthy. Don't look them in the eye. Don't. :sly:

I understand.
Therefore if a new player (like me in the previous round) chooses to go into a Intermediate event, then he can participate there and in the Expert level, but not in the Beginner one.

It keeps up an challenging and healthy competition for everyone.

Actually . . . you may do all the events - in private. :)
Nothing to stop you doing that and I'm hopeful many players are actually doing just that - using the leaderboards as benchmarks and trying out their prowess themselves without actually submitting timesheets.

You (and I'm talking you, specifically, are eligible to enter entries for ALL the events except the ones restricted to Licenced GT Hunters.

Once you are qualified (3 Trophies to get there) you attain Vic Reign Rights (The Licence) - this permits you to enter into any events for holders of Vic Reign Rights - but at that point you lose the eligibility for Entry Level Events.

I understand.

It does. We have polished it over the year into quite a fascinating circuit. Thank you for the interest - and don't forget to take a shot at the Entry Level Events while you are still eligible.
As you may note, the Baron just threw in an entry for the Beginner's 'Runaway Champ' event - and he's no beginner - but he still tries the event because he is still eligible for it - and that gives the opportunity for a Beginner (or any Intermediate or Expert, in fact) to challenge his time.
However - if he stays at the top of that Board and decides to keep the Title in the end, he forfeits any other WR Titles he may earn this round.

In the end, you are eligible to take away 1 Trophy Title from the WR Events that you are eligible to enter, and as many as you can from the Open Events. So even a P2 or P3 in WR events can pay off.

Good Luck. 👍

Aha. The OP isnt really direct on that (in Germany we call it: talking around the hot mash).
Thanks for clarifying again :)

Phew! Moose Event averted.

@StirlingMoose - take note. :mischievous:

I understand.

As you get steeped deeper into the culture more things will make sense. And reading every event thoroughly also helps as each event is treated separately and may have various caveats, terms, and conditions to them.
Obviously, all that information is tempered by the use of language by one born into it, and so may sometimes be obtuse when translated (whether mentally or technologically) into another.
I am absolutely thrilled, though, when we have players from all over the World participating and trying to wrap their heads (metaphorically, of course) around the concepts we juggle in here.

Let me break down the Current Events.

Note that some are Off Limits to Licenced Hunters, some are Off Limits to Non-Licenced Hunters (players with 2 trophies or less,) some are Open to All.

Some are Whoosier-ruled, some aren't.

Some have Winning tickets, some don't.

All the above belong to this round that closes when this current round ends.
There is a maximum of 4 titles to be won by any one racer - either by a complete rookie or a terrifying alien doesn't matter - they have the same chances at it.

Other events with a different closing date are not part of this round and will be in the round of events that close on that date - even if it is just a single event or multiple events ending for that particular round. This should clarify the situation further I hope. 👍

^ Count me baffled. Doesn't this put you in P2 in that event? Good start?

Took the Hippie out for a trip on the highway - very addictive!
Did it just twice - but what a blast. This is an event one could work on for hours.
A good tune, of course, would make a world of a difference in getting this monster to come alive.

But I was impatient to try the Hare Splitter and the Restricted Turbo 2002 race again (just love that Beemer bone stock, no aids, what a lovely drive!) but thought i would try a quick couple of races at the Runaway Champ.
Holy hell! It's like the AI knows right away what we are up to.
I went race after race trying to get away from them, but man they stick like glue:

Finally I gave up and asked a friendly Irishman to lynch that mob:

.001 out of first is as close as you can get to the lead... And as frustrating as you can get! By saying I will NEVER play the game again, that's my sarcastic way of saying thank you to the GT6 Gods for teasing me! And you and I both know I will play GT6 again and again...

Sorry @RacingHardTV but they are the same MODEL of cars... Supra's are Supra's no matter what the year is...

Manufacturer or Marque = Toyota

Model = Supra

Cheers

The Hare Splitter
Whoosier Rule OFF. ALL Players welcome to enter.

Objective: Largest gap between Player's Model and closest following same Model (irrespective of sponsor/tune-shop) driven by an AI Driver.

You are the creator. Thought that different year of build is a different model. Sorry for confusion

Phew. For a moment there you had me worried.
You know you are only one trophy away from gaining access to The Hatch, and you have worked for a long time on this Series - you deserve it. Best of Luck!

So does this mean I can accept RMan72's entry, Baron? Let's make sure we are all on the same page before we move on to the final tally. Entries for this event will close Friday 12.00 hours GMT (Thursday, AoE.)
The way I understand it now is 'any model' irrespective of model year/sponsor/tuner?
Please confirm for sure so that all players wishing to enter that particular event are following the same rules. Thanks. 👍

Photonrider my GT300 SUPER GAS time is .010.

Right. I will adjust that right away - I meant to put .009.
But this leads us to a conundrum.

If your time is 4:20.000 - then it wouldn't be the closest to 4:20.000 it would be 4:20.000 dead on.
If two players get 4:20.000 they are both winners. If one gets -.001 and the other +.001 they are also both winners.

Obviously we cam calculate to the nth or dead on but it would still be a situation where more than one player can come up with the same result.

So this is an interesting situation that has developed around the challenge.
As well - to keep it simple and avoid any calculating I'll set down the times as entered and we can look at the Tally at the end and cross that bridge when we come to it as to how close, and whether more than one player has reached the same goal of 'closest' to 4:20.000 in regards to actual time.
