@photonrider I can't see why not... a Supra is still a Supra, but my fault for not further stipulating that as well. I thought we had cases of different years shown in timesheets before this situation, but sadly I can't find the one I was thinking of.

Apples to apples though, the only real fight I'd expect to get is referring to the old 2800XX as a "true" Supra, even though here in North America it was know as the Celica Supra... but even then, what other Celica's had 6 cylinders that weren't race cars.

Cheers

One for the Highwaytripper Hippie. It's lot more fun than I thought it could be, but the elevated driving position made me a bit dizzy and I had to tip my wheel forwards by 45 degrees to get the authentic bus-driver feel.

20160208_210612.jpg

I didn't really tip the wheel - couldn't find the right allen key.

Phew. For a moment there you had me worried.
You know you are only one trophy away from gaining access to The Hatch, and you have worked for a long time on this Series - you deserve it. Best of Luck!

So does this mean I can accept RMan72's entry, Baron? Let's make sure we are all on the same page before we move on to the final tally. Entries for this event will close Friday 12.00 hours GMT (Thursday, AoE.)
The way I understand it now is 'any model' irrespective of model year/sponsor/tuner?
Please confirm for sure so that all players wishing to enter that particular event are following the same rules. Thanks. 👍

Right. I will adjust that right away - I meant to put .009.
But this leads us to a conundrum.

If your time is 4:20.000 - then it wouldn't be the closest to 4:20.000 it would be 4:20.000 dead on.
If two players get 4:20.000 they are both winners. If one gets -.001 and the other +.001 they are also both winners.

Obviously we cam calculate to the nth or dead on but it would still be a situation where more than one player can come up with the same result.

So this is an interesting situation that has developed around the challenge.
As well - to keep it simple and avoid any calculating I'll set down the times as entered and we can look at the Tally at the end and cross that bridge when we come to it as to how close, and whether more than one player has reached the same goal of 'closest' to 4:20.000 in regards to actual time.
Sounds good. But I think two people will never get the same time, but you never know.
if someone gets 4:20.000 then there time would be .000 and can't be beaten only equal.

Unlike this one. Although I did discover that there comes a point where going sideways across the grass is slower than going round the corner.

Playing with grass while in a Samba? :sly:

*starts making pancakes.

For the French Kaiser...
Cheers

Another trophy stolen from me?!

*shakes pudgy fist at the Baron.

GT300 Super Gas Torch

Nothing like a 0.001 increase in my previous time..... Just enough to tie for the lead!:rolleyes:👎:grumpy:👍:eek:

In conversation with bjl23 a few days back we both decided that co-winners will each receive titles - even though the chance of that happening was very slim.
But slim sometimes shows up if given the chance - so at this point (unless someone beats both you and 'Bobby Lee') you are finally in line for that third trophy and the privilege of joining the Club at The Hatch. ;)
We look forward to your input in designing events.

@nowayback - could you please confirm for me the total time on the TT, and as to what events the Expert readouts are for? I could guess, but I'd rather be sure. Thanks. ;) 👍

Looking at the leaderboards as is it exists now, seems like even wahthewalrus has a chance of picking up a trophy. Just depends how the chips fall and who picks what trophy. :mischievous:

Can't believe it's a tie. Never thought a tie would happen.

Good work.

In here the difficult is quickly achieved. The impossible takes a bit of time. :D
If you were around for The Time Traveller Trophy you would agree.

Ok @ photonrider put times post #1664

Thank you, nowayback - since there were multiple events run using the same race I was unsure as to which they applied to. 👍

Congrats to @nowayback on a Double - no accident that he's on top of the Trophy Board - a round well played.
Design-An-Event Tickets were won by @steve nfs, @StirlingMoose, and @nowayback.
Please discuss your new events at The Hatch so that all details could be worked out before we publish them in the main thread. Thank you. :tup.

A special mention for @RMan72 for picking up on the game so quickly, and whose neat, well-signed timesheets were a great example of how entries should be submitted.

Other winners were:
Vic Reign93, Ed_Night, RMan72, and the Super Gas twins - bjl23, and DisabledRacer.

Congratulations to DisabledRacer for earning the privilege of joining the licenced GT Hunters at The Hatch. Well-deserved and long overdue. ;)

@photonrider are you trying to kill us?? :scared: The Pace Rocket event would certainly put someone in a grave in RL!! The rabbits DO NOT like being stuck behind an open wheeled mini car! They did everything in their power to keep me from finishing this race!

This had to be one of the most fun events I have ever done in GT6.
By the third race I was howling with laughter (in between fits of absolute white-knuckle suspense.)
This is not your ordinary mile-and-a-half in a minute-and-a-half episode repeated over and over while you try to knock a tenth of a second off your time. This will bring out driving skills in you that you would never have imagined you had. This will have you driviing forwards, backwards, sideways, and occasionally upwards. This will have you reversing at warp speed, shifting gears at ludicrous speed and making decisions at the speed of thought.
Which means you have to think fast.
You have to keep an eye on a pack of wolves that surround you and have one thought in mind - to tear you apart. You have to look ahead, look behind, look sideways - and most of all have infinite patience in controlling the absolute road -rage around you.

Do the event 3 times in a row with the same field - and you will never look at the GT6 AI in the same way again. They come alive. With one thought in mind. They want you dead.

BTW - awesome time. I know how difficult this one is - even though I only tried it thrice. There's only so far you can push electrons before they go schitzophrenic and destroy your equipment. Don't blame me for black smoke and burnt hair.

:)

BBS.

:lol: It took me 5 times of running this event with the same rabbits just to make it to the finish line! I had to fiddle with my ballast and position to try and keep the car going straight everytime the rabbits would hit me. They just love to smash into that little rocket! Needless to say I'm hooked and will be going back for more mayhem!!

:lol:They just love to smash into that little rocket! Needless to say I'm hooked and will be going back for more mayhem!!

For some reason they start to get totally enraged and then begin to work together - all they want to do is get in front of you. The moves they make are absolutely monstrous at times - unbelievable driving. At moments I'm thinking - that's not possible, those are almost 'human' moves - rather, moves executed with such precision and 'thinking' you would think that they have some sort of 'willpower'.
It's all 'If P then Q' of course, but it becomes quite absorbing, let alone the driving exercises they put us through that improve our driving and handling skills.

@photonrider are you trying to kill us?? :scared: The Pace Rocket event would certainly put someone in a grave in RL!!

Absolutely. To the latter part. :)

It would certainly put someone into the grave pretty quick - so don't try this in real life.
That's why we built a simulator - a driving simulator.
It's quite liberating to be given this tool. Especially if one is a petrolhead. Drive races, drive time trails, drive around aimlessly, drive like you're driving an ambulance, a squad car, a Midget delivering the goods in a hurry with some wild traffic out there on the road . . . just drive.
That is why we have so many cars, and it's not so much how they look from outside (though that's totally cool, too) it's how we feel when we can simulate being wrapped in these machines, hurtling them about every which way and loose. It's a driving paradise.
Because no one gets killed.

Yup, don't try it in real life - but the skills you get out of it may save your life some day. ;)

Room for improvement if those two slow-pokes in the back hit the gas instead of the brakes while racing to the finish line!

Autumn Ring is a great location to play with a bunch of lower PP cars - but this bunch is very feisty. Some of the lead rabbits are exceptionally fast and take quite unorthodox lines to foil your plan, while the slower rabbits seem to go even more slow - as if they know what you are up to.
The Rocket is an absolute joy to drive here. I used it in the Intermediate, too - very addictive at Apricot, just whips the competition's ass.

Sorry for making another mistake @photonrider ... guess I need glasses now! :banghead:
Cheers

Not a problem. I'd rather have over-enthusiasm than lack of interest. 👍
We don't want to scare away new players - especially Entry Level players who may just be getting into Gran Turismo - with blazing alien times like that.
I must admit the RUF and Apricot don't like each other - and it is a very tempting challenge for experienced players.
An Entry Level player putting in a good time on that track with that car deserves a trophy.

  slow down..

Hard to do.

Goes against our primal instinct. We must be first - and to do that we must be the fastest.
Even before we become human we are programmed with this primal instinct - racing to reach the egg first. If we don't reach that egg first we aren't born. It becomes a matter of life and death and it is in our DNA even before we are conceived as human.
So we must be first, must be the fastest. If someone cuts ahead of us at the cash-out we become enraged. If someone cuts us off on the highway we become enraged - it's instinctual, it's a matter of life and death.
Actually, no. The person cutting you off on the highway or the cash-out line isn't going to get to the egg first, it just seems that way.
This then becomes a contest of willpower versus instinct.

So this is why we stop short and try to make the journey more interesting than the destination. This is why we have events that are not only 'get there first', but 'get there as interestingly as possible'. We limit ourselves, or put obstacles in our way, or give ourselves targets other than 'get there fastest and first' so that we can also enjoy the experience of driving - real driving - to the full.
When I read the tag 'real driving simulator' I take it that it's the driving that is supposed to be real, not the simulator - a real simulator would set us back what NASA spends on one.
Maybe one day it would cost us less than that and we would have comparable quality, but for what it costs now, this game simulates a lot of good driving stuff, and there's still a lot more to explore in it.

On with the game! New event from the Moose himself :scared: to be published in a moment. Heads up! ;)

Here comes The PP Ninja

Edit: New event posted. If you can see it.
