I have seen pictures of boxes rising up out of the track at Eiger before. I've been looking, but I don't remember where.
Saturday nights I run all reverse tracks. I have run Eiger reverse for several weeks now. For my first race of the night tonight, I ran Eiger. The room hadn't filled up yet. This is from my dash cam. We ran three races there, this was the only time the boxes appeared. You will notice here that the boxes have mass and slow my Karmann Ghia down when I hit them.
