What if they put so much stuff on the disc there's no sounds and you have to download all of them and they're straight up amazing and everyone can shut up

As long as they show an updated build at TGS with some improvements we're fine, otherwise it would be safe to expect delays no??

Don't count on it. Well, GT5 was delayed but I'm afraid PD feels the job is done with more content and some physics as well as UI improvements, and they already have that and some more. After all, this game comes for the PS3 after the PS4 launch so Sony is probably not putting too much pressure on PD. Furthermore, based on the experience we've gained from GT5, what Kaz says in interviews mostly mirrors his vision rather than the next game.

I couldnt give a toss about sounds, im pretty sure you can buy a exhaust pipe for a real car and make it sound like its counterpart in GT5/6.
Therefore its realistic imo

What if they include a magic wand with the game that takes you in the world of fairies?

Seriously though, is the goal to shut people up or get a quality product?

I'm not familiar with any vacuum cleaner exhausts but even assuming there are, GT is supposed to simulate the sound of stock cars rather than what they could sound like if "pimp my ride" had a few hours with them. Maybe they should also have all the cars handle like boats. I mean, with some tweaking and sea water, it could be realistic.

You're either joking or in denial. Regardless of what you may be able to do to a real exhaust, stock cars in Gran Turismo should sound almost like their real stock counterparts. That's like not caring if a stock Supra comes with more than 600 hp in GT6 because it can be achieved in real life.

I don't play a game for sounds anyways..

GT has always been visual for me. Even watching replays with just my personal music playing works for me.

Physics for me. Some cars sound good, most don't. It's all physics for me, it is a driving game after all. :)

Everything is a placeholder etc.

Thanks for putting words in my mouth

Can you for sure confirm to me it isn't a demo and that everything you see is final?

Physics are the most important thing in a driving simulation but sounds are also a huge part of what it makes the spirit of automobile driving, and the spirit of automobile driving is adrenaline you assimilate in taking speed close to the road or any outside elements mixed with the technical dimension of steering and control abilities.

No sound, no adrenaline, no excitation. In a perfect simulator, you must be able to feel the engine just behind you, its vibrations, its heat, its violence. And this was never really the case at Gran Turismo

This is why Forza for example is generally more exciting despite a little more arcade physic and sometimes too caricatural engine sounds. I hope Kazu have understood this point when he tested all these awesome cars in recent years.

If you think sounds are that important in a demo (which isn't final), then you can believe that.

You are kidding yourself if you truly believe there will be any major substantial improvements in engine sound going from the videos in this thread to final release.

Edit: That wasn't meant as being rude, more of a wake up call.

That's pretty much IT. There's at least a good two months (and then some) left to tweak the sounds. It isn't wrong to say the engine sounds to the Z4 GT3 aren't good. They're far from good. How can you rule out that they really haven't finished tweaking the sounds to it though?

Not everything is a "placeholder". Everything is what it is until we get to see what the release version of the game is like. Well, so then, everything's a placeholder in that case, but let's just stop this "placeholder" mockery. The game isn't finished PERIOD.

Nope, the same way nobody can confirm the opposite.
That's ludicrous. Like, really? Like, wow... smdh

He never said that. Although, there's room for improvements and tweaking and optimizations in many areas until the game releases.

How is it ludicrous exactly? We have no exact confirmation about the final sounds. Some people chose to stay optimistic while others chose to stay pessimistic. How is one side more wrong than the other?

Except I'm not the one going around repeating the phrase as you seemed to think I'm doing.

I never said I did "believe" it.

Let me make this clear to you guys: I'm not saying something spectacular will happen with the sound nor am I coming to the rescue with "Its a Placeholder" Every time someone criticizes the sound. My point is that the doom & gloom complaints that often seem to sound like they know what is and isn't final are abit unnecessary (just as the posts with the same thing posted are at people when they say criticize the sound). Its a demo, whether we like what we see (and hear) or not. Its not a claim, its basically what it is. I'm just waiting until the game comes out and would suggest the same to most.

Another thing: Can some of you stop messing with anyone that posts how little they care about sounds? Sorry but not everyone enjoys the same things and that includes the sounds.

I don't even care for sounds, the new course maker is the one thing I'm more hyped up about. Something that other racing games need nowadays because without it, there BORING IMO.

If the redesigned track editor came along with a event editor for a-spec... :dopey:

I want to see gameplay of the Ford GT40 and Shelby Cobra Daytona so badly now. I want to see the color selection of the GT40 too.

EDIT: Yes, if I can make my own events offline; I would never stop playing GT6.

Finally someone gets me... We need proper physics! Especially weight shifting I.e. lift off oversteer. The weight shifting would also help collision physics because that's what makes even the slightest tap into a spinfest for both cars.
