Yes I say Credit Scam, I spent 302,000 credits getting my car ready for the seasonal challenge but only won 119,000 credits. Ohh and a really ugly colored paint chip.

I want the game to know that I am very upset with the way they released this game, 3 seasonal every two weeks and each one released will end up costing you credits by the time you are done, I have spent way more so far on credits than what I have won doing the seasonal, and what do I have to show for? paint chips, ugly colored ones at that!

I suggest a boycott of all seasonals and send the game makers a message that we are not all stupid sheep who follow without thought,

I have many other gripes about GT6 but I don't want to take the focus away from the issue at hand!

Seasonals should earn you cars! or at least enough credits to offset the costs of purchasing and tuning the cars, I hope this gets through to them so that we can stop getting ripped off!.

I don't see it as a scam, I see it as subtle guidance towards microtransactions and a hopefulness that you'll use them. Why would anybody spend their real money if they could make lots of credits easily by replaying constantly new seasonals? And why have prize cars when you can just have them all available to buy?

In GT5 the seasonals were the go-to earners with the added bonus of always having new events added to stop you getting bored. What sucks for them is the Red Bull championship in GT6 is a good earner and not too difficult. What sucks for us is it's boring after the 100th time!

I've had it even worse! Enter car that's been fully prepped with everything possible added, remove the nitrous bottle and finish the event. Headed back to the garage only to find that I had to repurchase the entire nitrous system that I had already paid for!

I do have to agree, the color chips really suck. Different shades of green and grey, never anything really cool or fun. And cheapy cars that we can sell for a bit of extra cash wouldn't hurt too.

Although I can see where your coming from with this, for myself, I just haven't seen it as anything to lose any sleep over, especially going as far as a boycott. I really don't think that that is going to do any good. The suggestion that I can make is this, if you are that unhappy with the payout of the Seasonals, just don't do them. For me, I do the Seasonals for the competition, any prize/money I may get is just an added bonus. If you're doing these events just for the money and/or paint chips, there are plenty of other ways to earn money in the game and then, with that money, you could then go to the dealership and buy some cars with the paint chips that you want. Pretty simple solution to the problem...don't you think?

Boycotting all seasonals is not the answer because these are time trials that improves your skill with your friends online times. So these time trials we are not getting ripped off so we just have to wait and see when we get seasonal races after GT5 online server closes down and we have to hope and pray that happens and in the mean time we just have to be patience.

There is a Seasonal Event in GT5 where you do 1 lap of The Ring & get paid 1,000,000 credits (with the log in bonus maxed out of course), it takes well under 7 minutes. I can't see anything like this ever being in GT6. That's one of the problems with PD, they'll give you something (a game feature or whatever) that you get used to, then completely remove it from the next game, & cause much upset to their customers.

Killing the game ... just to earn more money ... makes my stomach turn

The saddest (not to mention the most frustrating) thing is, that's exactly how it worked in GT5. If you didn't win any extra money, you at least got back what you put into your car. I wonder what the frick is going on over at PD's office.

Not really cool or fun?... hmm lets see:
2 silver crome paint chips...
2 gold crome paint chips.. :indiff:
several matte paint chips.. :irked:
1 blue fluorescence...:yuck:

in fairness though you dont really need to spend big money to gold a seasonal..most of the cars you can win by playing career mode and 40k or less will set up ur car.all you need is fully customisable suspension, transmission, racing exhaust ecu and then your sorted

I never experienced massive payouts in GT5 because I played it for just a few hours after having played GT6, but could it be that GT5 payouts were higher than they should have been? I understand you want more for your time spent, but to get tangled up in knots over it seems silly to me. Play another game (be it on Playstation or another format entirely), get some fresh air, or just veg out if you're frustrated that they don't do things the way you want them to do things.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confidence_trick
A confidence trick (synonyms include confidence scheme and scam) is an attempt to defraud a person or group after first gaining their confidence, in the classical sense of trust.

I fail to see how that's a scam. You've been told in advance what the payout for the event was. Your choice whenever you want to spend more credits than you'll earn trying to climb the boards or not.

Also, how in the name of all that's holy you managed to spend 302,000 credits on any current Seasonal?

And that seems to be for one car. I bought the S206 Impreza for 56k I believe and put about 30 into it to get gold in the event. My BMW was stock. Didn't need to buy the FXX.

Or, could it be that there weren't microtransactions in GT5, & therefore no need to "encourage" people to buy them?

This. And this again.

They're IMO why we have relatively low payouts, no seasonal races, very few prize cars and no paint chips without buying a car in GT6. Oh and a half a million price tag on chassis restoration.

Then it's just a matter of PD trying to get in on a trend established by, from what I understand, numerous other development houses. As sad a state as you may believe you're in, it's just a sign of the times. I'm thankful I like my "slow" cars that don't break the bank.

BINGO!! It's very obvious that the payouts are designed around the MT's, to force you to either grind laboriously, or buy credits. Even the online racing payouts are ridiculously low and actually discourage, rather than encourage you to play the game.

You're right Johnny, as it's certainly discouraged me from playing the game. That & a whole lot of other reasons.

And you're really thinking of putting these on one of your cars? Unless you want to make it look like ice cream or whatever.

Would rather racing seasonals instead of superlaps; but if you need/want credits you have to 'grind' some

Yes I painted some cars in silver chrome and they look preaty good. The gold chrome look fantastic on any wheels specialy whit a matte black combination. The mate paints I used on some old timers. The blue flourescence is a must if you want to build some ricers. And really... I like the ice cream look. ;)

I just felt really used yesterday i think i came across a little harsher than i wanted too. I do the seasonals for only one reason and for me thats tuning and comparing my cars performance world wide. I however still feel cheated and wouldn't mind doing the seasonal over and over again until i got to make money but thats not the case. You only get paid once.

So whats the point in complaining if you cant offer solutions. So here is what i would love to see.

1 payout for everytime you do the challenge

2 provide the cars and give us the car if we get gold.

3 have some races against cpu, vary the type of competition. ie drift, 10 lap challenges, or even multiple track races...

4 keep the current format but make traction control or skid recovery unaccessable. But payout everytime!

Mainly make it worth our time and you will see more participation

Ps on another note not to sidetrack please bring back the lines on the transmission graph, show the torque max RPM, and the scale on the sliders. I would pay extra for the speed testing track.

Those are all reasonable requests, and frankly I would like to see an "advanced" transmission tuning option (emphasis on option, because not everyone would like it) that requires you to put a number in each box instead of relying on sliders with low and high limits.

The thing I find irritating isn't the complaints is that these same issues seep into most every corner of the forums when they have a dedicated place. Yeah I realize this IS that place, but I haven't addressed it to a great extent and the trunk makes for a better target than each and every leaf; you bought the game and are disappointed that it hasn't turned out the way you wanted, which is [sincerely] unfortunate, but I can't imagine anyone is forcing you to continue playing it. I really don't mean for that to sound so 'tough cookies, kiddo' but there's no nicer way to put it.

The outright best issue I can think of to pinpoint for complaint is the lack of communication from the developers. They made choices in designing the game that users might not like, they have the right, but there's no excuse for not keeping customers in the loop when they're unable to provide the service they've committed themselves to.

I remember in gt5 you could play the events over and over and get 200 to 500 thousand not counting log in bonus. Now it is like 20 to 50 thousand and you could only play once. Also in gt5 you could get a paint, helmet, suit for 1st 2nd 3rd.

There was a time when I would have said it was practice, but it's so easy to finish the [higher payout RedBull Standard] races that it's difficult to enjoy them. If they implement grid races as seasonals, they really need to increase the opponent ability. I for one would like to see more events structured similar to the Missions and Coffee Breaks (except for knocking cones over).

IIRC TT's never paided out more than once once in GT5.
As for the seasonal yes I would love to see some A-spec seasonals but with the bugs I think they have more pressing matters to fix first than getting the A-spec seasonals working.
I do agree the MTX formate has forced a lower pay out in game than we are used to from GT1-GT5 but this is to be expected, if the game had flown off the shelfs like GTA V did than we would proly have the stuff we want but i can almost promise they are bairly in the black for the game with projected long term costs of the game with the poor game sales. So really PD is trying to hard to figure out how to fix this game dev GT7 and *cough* add features we have been asking for. But they are going about in the wrong fashion.

Of course I could and proly am compleatly wrong with the money aspect of the game and they are rolling in the dough are laughing all the way to the bank.

PD don't force you to do seasonals and payout $$$ is displayed before you enter event.

So really, you are disappointed with the choices you made.

Perhaps you could change the misleading thread title to reflect this?
