GT6 to be available on PSN for digital download

Get some kip now... You will be shattered when its ready to play!
I'm in the UK, nothing downloaded yet and no sign of it starting.
 
Are the pre-order bonuses, such as the 1 million credits, activated by default in the PSN version? I'd like to start downloading asap but I'd rather not have those "free" money.
 
PSN still says "available 5th Dec", nobody downloading yet, and there are two options basically :

1. Available to everybody at the same time : Wait to 00:00AM 6th Dec. , it's 18.35PM in Japan, so they must start to download in less than 6 hours, and therefore, it will start to donwload today 5th Dec here in Europe and also USA.

2. Available to each one based on the timezone : Then it will start to donwload 00:00AM of each country.

The option 1 sounds more logical, and matches with what my PSN says, in that case it will start today.

PSN though says that the game will be downloaded on 5th, but the game will be playable on 6th... <_<

And some download estimates, 14.5Gb donwload :

Connection speed 5Mbps ( 0.62MB download ) ------- 6.9 hours
Connection speed 10Mbps ( 1.25MB download ) ------- 3.6 hours
Connection speed 20Mbps ( 2.5MB download ) ------- 110 min.
Connection speed 50Mbps ( 6.25MB download ) ------- 47 min.
Connection speed 100Mbps ( 12.5MB download ) ------- 24 min.

All of them, "theorically", because the important value is their servers bandhwidth, so it doesn't matter if you got a 50Mb connection, if they only have 10Mb/per user bandwidth.

Are you sure you entered the right size? At a 10 mbit/s connection speed it shouldn't take 34 hours to download the game.

Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, commonly stated as Mb or Mbps (i.e. 15Mb or 15 Mbps). Make sure you don't get confused between megabits and megabytes (which tends to be written as MB, or GB when referring to gigabytes). There are eight bits in a byte, so, if your download speed is 8 megabits per second (8Mb), then that's actually shifting 1 megabyte per second (1MB)

For example, i have an 50Mbps fiber connection here at home, but the "real" download speed it's about 6MB per second, that's why it's a little bit confusing.

Based in my experience, they dont have that huge bandwidth per user in their servers, so it's going to take way more time I think. With my 50Mb connection, PSN usually downloads at 1 or 1.5MB, but i can reach 5MB with others servers, they have a limited BW per user ( it's common ).

I hope they decide to use a good Amazon S3 server or something similar for this time !

Your figures are all over the place.
With an effective 10 megabit connection speed (with DSL there's some overhead, for me that is about 11.6%, which means that to achieve 10 megabits the DSL link speed should be 11.6 megabits in my case) one should be able to get a peak download speed of 1.25 megabyte/s, which is about 4.4 gigabyte/hour. That's 3.34 hours to download the 14.7 gigabytes of GT6 in the best case.
 
Just spoke to PS store customer services and came out of it none the wiser. The guy said "sometime today" after I had to explain to him 3 times the difference between a pre-download and an unlock.

it was 2 - 3 days before release that GTA 5 and Ghosts could be downloaded, so they need to pull their finger out.
 
guys...somebody told me that it will be downloadable at 3pm CET (czech republic, german, france, etc. time) so we shall see

Mega = 1000 Kilo
8 bit = 1 byte

EDIT: Example: 10Mbps = 10000 kbps = 1.25 MBps = 1250 kBps

EDIT2: Providers don't use the binary system with the 1024 ratio.

EDIT3: In this case 14.3 GB would take about 3.3 - 3.4 hours.

Okey, ive now been hovering over the digial pre order on psn for an hour and i have a question. The special edition you get from the pre order there, will it include credits? like the physical copy of 15th annivarsary does?

Just took a peek, it doesn't actually mention the 1m but I would imagine so, even if you don't get the money, you start with 25 cars so not a big issue.
