Laguna Seca might be the worst track in the game on controller. Absolutely can't stand this place, those ridiculous sausage kerbs are just race ruining everytime, & so hard to avoid it's absurd.

I'd rather have championship penalties & no kerbs than this hell every race.

I've tried so hard to follow what the top guys are doing, but I simply cannot turn enough compared to them, or brake as hard.

I don't know how they're able to casually turn significantly more than me at the same parts, even with controller sensitivity on 10

Yeah its up there with Fuji for my most hated tracks in the game. There's just no part of Laguna Seca that I really enjoy. The run down the hill to the hairpin is ok but T2 is flat garbage and from there the rest of the lap is my least favorite tarmac on the planet.

I really like Gardens but just cannot get my mojo back there since i switched to a wheel. The sausage chicane does me everytime and i've totally lost my 6th sense at the 4 apex right hander. Tried the Renault which felt fast but man it's become tricky to drive since GTSport, wants to spin all the time. Gave the Atenza a whirl and as per usual i cannot get that brick to rotate. Will try the Citroen tonight. I am a bit stretched for time recently so not a lot of seat time.

With the Atenza +5 BB and give it a fraction more time to point before accelerating, it’s the best all rounder for it. The F Type is fast but really requires precision so I just stuck with the Atenza.

It’s a really fun track I think, especially qualifying, kind of reminds me of blue moon bay with the high speed corners and funnily enough BMB and Dragon Tail have been my best times breaking into too 2,000. But the race is just chaos, which I know I’m bringing on myself when I miss a like or braking point and it just puts you in the way of a train of cars all piling into you 😂😂. Keeps me coming back tho as it’s fun. Will be interested in what you think on the Citroen, I might try it too as it seems the tops times have migrated to that.

How are you finding the races Glen?

I’m finding them fine to be honest in top 1-4 splits. The odd lunger but nothing to gregarious.

The one thing is that the 3/4 viable cars all make the pace slightly differently.

The atenza is 4wd exit smoothness and top speed, the Citroen is a low range torque combined with speed just lazy mid range and strong brakes.

The G70 if you know how to drive it is weakest link of the 3 but can solid and on the pace. The dark horse is the F Type but I only did a couple of laps in it so can’t comment.

My issue with gardens races is people dive bomb at the chicane, using your car to make the corner, pushing you into narnia. If you take a narrow line to defend the inside it is SUPER slow so you are screwed regardless.

Either Race A has already jumped the shark, or I shouldn't be bothering with afternoon lobbies.

70% of the field are B/S, and they're giving a great go of it. But there's a podium disease going around, and the A/A+ drivers at the front are frequently ramming each other onto the walls and brake checking each other on the straights. This is supposedly where SR is at Max.

It's almost literally a minefield. It's very easy to become collateral damage and it's become less about racing and more about learning to dodge like a fighter pilot. There is some decent competition at the core of it all, but everyone is far too sensitive to losing out, even when it's due to their own little mistakes.

Constantly having the same drivers race after race doesn't help to disperse the resentment either. Plonk me into a random lobby anytime, please.

Indy races have been dull because it is so hard to pass. Bathurst is 6.2KM long with two long straights, one of them over 1km long. No comparison. LS is a great challenge and a really interesting track but modern cars have out grown it. Reminds me a bit of Mosport actually.

I’ve been at most of the recent Indy Car races at Laguna. Wouldn’t call them dull. Ditto for recent IMSA races. And if you want to go back, there’s the epic Herta v. Zanardi CART races in the late 90s at Laguna.

Laguna is one of the world’s great tracks, with possibly the best corner in all of motorsport.

Laguna is a great circuit and world known, actually the one great track from America which I am dying to see here is Road America, Lime rock too. But I guess we all have our tracks which we don’t like or can’t get on with, mine is Fuji, detest it.

Hopefully the next game has some world alternative tracks added

I suggest you to check this out, witch is in the "Hall of fame" of overtaking.

I watched it live, it was 30 years ago. You can grab a snap shot of any great pass on any track, reality is it is small and very, very hard to pass with modern cars that have big power, big downforce and big brakes. It just is.

Yeah it must lead to dive bombs being such a hard track, ballsy to take it at the corkscrew though, these days that wouldn’t go without a penalty 😁

At the top end of C I've been stuck with a lot of B/C drivers, but have been starting and finishing in P2 in most races.

This pushed me up to B/S today, first race at B I was P12 on the grid, 50% of the field was A DR - big difference between C and B lobbies obviously. Managed to move up one place to P11, but my fastest race lap was 4 seconds slower than the guy who won!

Back down to DR C tomorrow I suspect......

Man this game is like having a hot Latino girlfriend! My emotions are all over the place! Last night she was mad at me and ruined my night and tonight has been riveting from start to finish!!!!

Last night genuinely made me question if I wanted to switch to Iracing or something else, the lobbies I was in were absolutely filthy with constant deliberate punting and aggression! Just didn’t enjoy it.

Tonight I’ve had maybe 7/8 races and they’ve been incredible start to finish, close and fair racing. Super fast. A few incidents, 1 where I gave the place back and two different drivers being very sporting and slowing after contact to give a place back to me in different races! Makes you absolutely fall in love with the game all over again!!!!! Don’t want to stop and go to bed 😂

Nicked a win and a few podiums and DR is the highest it’s ever been! Hoping to break into the 20’s at some point on next few weeks! Need to get my SR back to S after the disaster of RBR!!

Let’s see what personality she has tomorrow 😂

My most desired American circuit is Sebring. My most desired American oval is Indianapolis.

Found some pace at Gardens, qualy 40.5 and was another quarter second up on next lap when the session ended as I entered the final corner. Citroen is my weapon of choice.

Racing is tough, easy to make mistakes and over drive or get pushed off. Managed a win to end the night, walking away from a BS field. It feels god when but nail that quad apex corner.

Congrats on the W!!!!! I tried moving over from the Atenza to the Citroen but couldn't even get it round the final corner to start my lap without spinning it  Must have tried 10 times before calling it a day! Do you not find it a bit too easy to lose the back or is that just me and my lead foot. Where do you find it beats the Atenza as it seems like it's now the META.

Agree with the ease of mistakes, seems like the track is fast and if you do make a mistake you really loose a whole bunch of time and the field really swallows you up.

Nailing the quad Apex feels wonderful and it's usually as your half way round the 3rd one you know if you have or not isn't it!!!! Also getting the car perfectly over the sausages in the Chicane is also a big moment of joy on the rare occasions I nail it

Haha yep, even just before the 3rd one you can feel it if you've nailed it.

The citreon just rotates better through every turn, especially the awkward right/left mid lap where it can carry a lot of speed.

Dont ride kerbs, especially sausage kerbs, with it, ends in tears.

Great feeling that! enjoying this track this week but need to jump over to race C at some point and give it a go.

Might spend this evening trying out the Citroen then, desperate to duck under 1.40 - down at 40.367 at the moment but still don't feel like I've fully nailed a lap.
