@Wilsonson I like a few tracks in reverse including Sardegna A. I remember we had this exact same combo a few months back. In it's own right, the race is fun but it gives a lot of potential away due to dirty driving.

Race A & B by themselves could've been longer versions of themselves a la Race C. But Race A has that typical tendency to do go haywire every single time. Race B seems the safer but fun choice this week. I ain't good enough to tame the hypercars so will give it a miss as I did when it was a hypercar Race C two weeks back at Le Mans.

Hypothetically, wish Race B would've been as long as Race C with weather change. It would've been simply lovely a la Verstappen.

Yep that first turn will be carnage, not to mention the left right a few turns in

Spa it is
Race A indeed has 1st corner carnage but it is a quick fun race but would benefit from at least 1 maybe 2 extra laps. In my last race 13 of the 16 drivers received an SR penalty 😳.
That said I have bagged a rare beast to pin on my headboard with a win. 🥇 🤠

Managed a 2.18.9xx at Spa, got me a pole and a win 😁 this one is defo getting rinsed this week and hopefully I’ll be in A racing at the back by the weekend 🤔

Before this one I had a good race, started 6th, finished 5th but lots of cars changing all race, really clean amongst the racers near me until this guy decided to perform a trick I only just missed

I had a hell of a fun weekend at DF, seriously. I decided to race on the alt account, starting from the back with no QT. Did 16 races to then set a QT only for Sunday afternoon (to get some "easy" wins and some spectacular death's execution from random killers).
Starting from back was btw enlightening.

Best from the back was a 4th cause I'm no alien and I waited also for contacts that weren't my fault (ping pong, net codes, etc.).
I'll repeat the exercise this weekend at Glen for sure and maybe Spa, even if it's way more difficult in race B.
Enjoy your week, everyone.

Some time there @Barney Da Dog straight off the bat on a Monday as well 👏 👏

Shock to the system this week, always takes me by surprise just how much faster and harder to control Gr3 is than Gr4, feel like I’m getting somewhere in Gr4 then Gr3 brings be back down to earth 😂

Need to find a whole second to be competitive but I think at least half of that is in T1 (La Source for @NevilleNobody 😬) and the bus stop.

Going to be a fun little grind this week to get to grips with the track properly. I’ve already beat my time from March so bodes well!

Lovely work mate!! Hopefully see you in some A lobbies end of the week.

Might see you on my alt account as I may race that whilst I’m trying to get to grips with the track. Still don’t really have much control of the car at any point!

Lovely work mate! Going from the back is no easy feat! I tried it when I set the alt account up and only worked in D and C, by the time I got to B I couldn’t pass enough people.

Cheers, still about 2-3 tenths available - which I'll need, as I'm starting around P10 - which sucks on the stupid rolling start. GT-R is decent at Spa and also the 650 in some peoples hands. My trusty 458 loses out too much on the straights if I lose the slipstream but it's great around the middle section.

Yeah I wish Gr4 was less grippy (or just ditch all the AWD cars) at least Gr3 feels like there's a chance of spinning off.

I've time trialed A - car feels good, not a fan of the reverse track :grumpy: buy may try a few races there.
Did a few laps around C but not sure about racing - will likely be a mess.

P.S @Stringerbell how you finding the new rig?

Out of interest, what wheel sen for race C you use? I’m tempted to do some TT there, but enjoying Spa far too much so far.

I also tried the GTR and it is very strong but I just feel more comfortable in the Audi, settled with a rotation of 280, but like you, still some time there for me, maybe mid to low 18s.

Yeah that start in the middle of the chicane is brutal

Missing some pace at Spa, both with my QT and in race I could do with shaving half a second a lap.

Just feels like there is so much understeer, not sure how guys are managing to brake so late and still make apexes.

Tried the Ford GT but just too much understeer at Radilion and Blanchimont. Jag felt OK but nothing came close to the audi. I'll try the gtr and 911 tomorrow.

Think I'm on about 300 on C but have to reduce the FFB strength for the oscillations getting wild. I'd prefer less rotation as it feels a bit rubbery and not like a sports car should feel though.

I've not updated the firmware for ages so maybe the bad oscillations have improved, but last time I tried it got stuck in a loop and I feared trying again in case I wrecked the wheelbase.

Around Spa in the R8, I have the SEN set at 150, which is much lower than I'd use for any other car, but to me it makes the R8 feel much more alive.

Edit/
@NevilleNobody does your wheel allow the rotation to be adjusted? That's what made the Audi feel better for me

Got a really weird bug the last few days, i like to chase my own ghost of my PB but since Saturday at Bathurst and now at Spa, when i load my ghost it only shows up from sector 2 onwards? Is this a known bug? Anyone know how to fix it?

Starting in the Chicane almost makes it like two separate races for people before and after it.

With the chance of spinning, do you feel you have the car mostly under control? i feel like I'm clinging on 80% of the lap.

Rig is brilliant thanks, really happy with it, seat is super comfy and love sticking my mad scientist hat on and tinkering away!

I tried the 992, felt so much more stable but was half a second off the Audi.

I checked telemetry and I'm losing half a second from La Source upto Les Combes and then another 7 tenths through les Combes to Pouhon and then 4 more tenths in the 2nd half of the bus stop.

Think Les Combes to Pouhon is the easiest fix, how these guys are getting on the power so early at la Source and the bus stop blows my mind.

I need a little something more to get me past @Stringerbell so I’ll try that, must be like not hardly moving the wheel at all though? @Barney Da Dog
haha I'll look forward to seeing what the target is when I get home!!

Hopefully we push each other into the 17's!!!

Definitely don't have to move the wheel much in fast turns - I think that's why I felt the Audi too understeery before. Same settings on the 296 and it feels too twitchy.

Starting in the Chicane almost makes it like two separate races for people before and after it.

I think overall it feels good, but I usually have TC-1 on in GR3 races (depends on the car as well)

That chicane really ruins the start - and also puts you out of the slipstream from those ahead, but the rest behind get a good advantage on the run in and out of Eau Rouge

Yeah the audi had never felt right to me, there's something odd about it and I have issues with cars who's engine sound I don't like. And if thats what an audi v10 sounds like IRL I'll eat my damn hat. 6 months ago the aidi was a popular pick at Monza and and bathurst and I won races in the Jag but I just cannot get the jag to work here.

As for getting on the power at la source, I reakon we focus too much on throttle modulation but the real skill is maximizing mid corner speed so you are not pinning the throttle from too low a speed, which causes wheelspin.

A couple of niche peculiarities about Race A...

Firstly, I noticed the grid-start launch is easily possible without TC, but the gearing is a weird one. Change to 2nd when it feels right, but then there's a second or two of bogging-down (not wheel spin) before proper traction kicks in, and I'm always losing ground. Anyone else noticing this?

Secondly, I've started becoming flexible about ABS depending on car selection. Weak was perfect for the Yaris last week (and for road cars in general) but the Red Bull car needs Default for the trail-braking potential. Just a tip for anyone looking for that extra tenth.

That’s interesting, I’m a AT driver at the moment (working on MT) and I have found TC1 at the start as a real benefit as it just seems to give me a ‘boost’ of the start.
That aside, enjoying Race A hugely as long as I escape the 1st and 2nd sharp right hand turns. 🤪🤠

Mate, bite the bullet and take the short term hit on time by learning MT.

With how fast you are on AT, you obviously have the fundamentals down with the racing line and braking points etc.. you’re easily leaving .5 to maybe a full second out there by using automatic.

If you change and get it you’ll be able to brake later and use the gears to slow you and get better rotation, be able to pick a higher gear to come out of a corner if needed and shift in the power band whether that is short shift or rev the balls off it!!!

Getting to A on auto was seriously impressive mate! 👏 👏

Just my two cents, one of the guys like Glen etc… may be able to shed more light/correct me if I’m wrong!

Not touched A yet, had it have been not reversed (my fave of all tracks) I’d have been only there.

At 28k DR now so soon spa will wear off and I’ll dive in - thanks for the tips 😁

You’ve got loads more in the tank, super impressive bud

Seen you’ve been, in the 17’s yet or still trying to cut the last chicane 😂

💪

@brockie I'm mainly curious about others' experiences. You're probably best off jumping in later in the week because this race is a peach when you've got a good old train forming. It's just a little tricky, so the more time people have to get used to it the better

You're killing me dog. So I adjust sensitivity (csl P1 V2) and nfi what i did but the steering becomes insanely loose. I click it down to 207 and still almost zero response. Cue a full damn hour of fussing around, rebooting, loading new drivers, charging the laptop, retihhtening the wheel, more software shenanigans etc etc before I convinced my wheel has an issue.

I try again to change lock and the damn dot. Wait....what? Is 207 really 2070............ it is. God dammit never realized it couldn't go to 3 digits so it sort if duplicates and tiny little dog is only indication if you're in thousands or hundreds.

Dead set could have hurled the unit out a windows, I was so annoyed.

Set it to 400 and cue an hour of just not being able to tie my lap together, I top out at 19.3 but optimal is 18.6, I just keep binning it.

What a night.

Dropped nearly half a second off so down into the 18.414, still lots of errors so more time if I can tie it all together which is a big IF!!!

Think a perfect lap for me could see me dip into the 17's but not sure I will pull it off.

I'm 4 tenths down on the last time we were here so happy with the improvement.

I always target to get into the top 1,000 or 1% of the WR but that's a 17.7xx so no chance of hitting that this week.

Had 4 races, dropped 2k DR so I think I will replace you in B when you go up to A

How have you got on? Set me a time to chase?

I think I’ve hit my ceiling mate, I looked back at last time and I was at 2.18.7xx so I’m where I should be I think, also in the TT at spa I was at 2.18.7 so not a lot to find

I do enjoy the races though and I’m racing A sorts and still not had a dr decrease race, only my last race this morning I had an internet outage and that dropped me back to 27.5 dr

I plan to spend some time on race A from here, need to get a decent time first and I’ll do some racing there at the weekend, as well as Spa,

Happy days 😁 I’ll keep an eye on your times mate but I reckon you need to chasing @Barney Da Dog

@NevilleNobody not sure where you get 207 from mate, last time I started out doing 600, then 550 etc, but just keep going down but maybe try 520, 360 first

I think I've changed my mind about starting from the back at Spa (don't like that much to start in the middle of Bus stop). Still, since I'll be on the alt account, I'll not going "meta". I'm undecided between the Mc Laren and the RCF to post a QT. What do you think guys I'll should use, considering not relevant the competitiveness of the choice?
To give some bias, here's the Mc Laren livery.

Mate you had a 2.18.149 last time!!! I was sure you had a low 18 as I remember you finding the sensitivity then posting 4 or 5 updates in row where your times had absolutely tumbled!!! I dunno where you got 2.18.7xx from? I just went on DG and saw your time.

Na I'm not going to get close to @Barney Da Dog this week, I have the odd week where I can match him but most weeks here is a good few tenths between us, gives me something to chase though!!!
