You're killing me dog. So I adjust sensitivity (csl P1 V2) and nfi what i did but the steering becomes insanely loose. I click it down to 207 and still almost zero response. Cue a full damn hour of fussing around, rebooting, loading new drivers, charging the laptop, retihhtening the wheel, more software shenanigans etc etc before I convinced my wheel has an issue.

I try again to change lock and the damn dot. Wait....what? Is 207 really 2070............ it is. God dammit never realized it couldn't go to 3 digits so it sort if duplicates and tiny little dog is only indication if you're in thousands or hundreds.

Dead set could have hurled the unit out a windows, I was so annoyed.

Set it to 400 and cue an hour of just not being able to tie my lap together, I top out at 19.3 but optimal is 18.6, I just keep binning it.

What a night.
Sorry 🙈

I use the F1 wheel, which is smaller diameter, but for the R8 I've got the SEN set to 150. Even with that it still feels understeery compared to other cars .

Usually I use 180/200ish for other Gr3s and tracks.

@NevilleNobody not sure where you get 207 from mate, last time I started out doing 600, then 550 etc, but just keep going down but maybe try 520, 360 first
On our wheel (we have the same one no?), it has a rotation range of 90 to 2070 degrees. However it can only show 3 digits, so 207 is 2070 degrees! 270 is 270, 207 is 2070! Took me an hour to figure this out.
Usually I use 180/200ish for other Gr3s and tracks.
I find the Audi's strength is it's rotation vs other cars with top end (GT Ford, Supra, Jag etc) but the steering always feels vague. I tried 300 but it was too sharp, settled on 400ish and felt good if i didn't bin it every 30 seconds.

Mine does 90-2520, then the Auto setting beyond that. I probably don't let the Audi coast enough through the tight turns so I'm probably inducing some of the understeer myself with the low SEN setting, but i prefer how it feels in the medium and fast turns.

Tried the 296 for a while yesterday and it felt good - I used to find it very skittish on the kerbs (wondering if they've changed anything on its setup in the updates 🤔)

Absolutely loving Race A, it’s full on and very quick. Just had an amazing race with ‘Williamdbz’ who was pole to start and as a pair we left the other 14 racers in our wake.
I accidentally tagged him on the last lap and as we have so often commented on I let him pass back. He kindly acknowledged that with the hazards and comments post race.
Felt good to race like this and long may it continue.
Clip of final lap below

What’s your thoughts on this?

I feel like we went side by side and I’m on the inside Apex and he just slams in to me?

Not sure the reaction was justified? But let me know if I was in the wrong?

Watch to the end me as the finale is spectacular 😂

Well, technically, it looked like he turned into you as you under passing him so he must have seen you, massive overreaction

You do run into them mad sorts 🤣🤣🤣

@Bondwhar that looks a lot of fun, I must do some of that this weekend

You took the exit line without compromising exit for the entry.

Now I this is the way to do it there if they concede the second apex, they don’t have to.

You took the certain line on exit not the giving contested space line.

Don’t agree with what the guy did but from his perspective it looked like you were using all of the shared track when the battle is the second to third apex which is the battle not the entry.

Very tricky one. In theory you did nothing wrong but likely from his side it felt like you hit hit as he turned left even though from your view looks like he came into your space.

if i'm harsh, that's a REALLY risky place to pass with an outside entry, i'd have tucked under his tail and looked to pressure him off the road through stress at the right before the back straight/blanchimont.

It's those vertical green white and red stripes🫣 I don't think you did anything wrong, just racing, he turned like you're not there (could depend on the driving view he uses) and both cars get a fraction out of shape and a slight touch put him slightly off, then his reaction is completely over the top.

I'll sometimes go around the outside there too, but usually if it's someone I trust. I've also had people go around me on the outside, and I've given space, just for them to run me clean off on the exit - very annoying, but I've still not reacted the way that guy did

I just don't understand why he didn't get into your slipstream and try a move at the bus stop instead of wrecking yours and his race like that.
We see two different racing lines I think here, because the defence is the left line, it’s to compromise both drivers if they have the ability to drive side by side.

If we’re are really going race craft then it’s turn 7 where you make a move or a block pass stick. But track space exists regardless of how you imagine the lines are.

Nothing wrong in the esses. A racing incident caused mainly from his stubborness to not concede being passed round the outside.
I disagree on the retaliation btw. Don't get me wrong. I understand it, I did it also at the beginning of my GT adventure/career, but now (next month it will be my 2 years "anniversary" of GT sport) I simply avoid this bad habit. I prefer to think that on the other side there's a child (either by age or mental maturity in any case). Being 53 I feel a dishonour to be "rude/violent" with a toddler.

Yeah that's what I thought, I don't think i could have moved over any further on that apex, but then his reaction with the 3 punts and then waiting on me on the straight and trying to punt me T1 and then chasing me to punt me T3 as well made me think maybe I did something wrong

Ok - so the issue is I should have gone more gentle on the gas exiting the corner and stayed middle of the track?

Yeah fully agree it's not a great place to overtake and tbh I don't really try and pull a move in that corner or similar as it never works but there was such a speed difference between us as he was recovering from a spin that it just didn't feel natural to slow down so much to get behind him. Which may have been a miscalculation on my part.

Yeah the reaction was very wild  But everyone plays the game their own way, I was more concerned if I misjudged, I do feel that we could have both got round without any issue if he hadn't turned into me. Feel like he should have known better as he is on the border of A+

Yes when things like that happen I do hope that it's a child on the other side and not a fully grown adult as if it is another adult then it is very embarrassing behaviour. I did message him afterwards saying I think he should check the reply but he just ignored it.

He had spun himself out from P2 so think maybe he was on an emotional roller coaster from that

This is where first contact is made, you could have backed out or he could have stayed slightly wider. Guessing he was in bumper/bonnet cam and didn’t see you but you could have seen him.

This is about 3 seconds later, he’s recovered quite strongly from the contact and is straight and taking the later straighter exit line, you are exiting in to the space which arguably at this point will be shared space especially from his perspective.

Overall a racing incident but could you both have done different things, of course it’s not something I’d over worry about but when you slow it down GT physics don’t help matters.

Having a torrid time at Spa, keep getting 18.7 optimals but just cannot get my crap together and still stuck on a 19.3 qualy. This has me near last in A rooms and mid pack in B rooms. In races I am competitive everywhere, no matter who I am racing, pace is hot and I am staggered how consistent everyone is. There's my issue, I make too many errors. Had a race last night where I made a slight error early but got away with it, dropped me to 7th, worked my way to second place and 2 corners later i dropped the car exiting the final corner. I am just way too error prone.

I know the feeling mate, I’m nowhere near the times I got last time out, this morning I was only hitting 2.20 in race laps, where as earlier in the week I was closing in on 2.18s

I am slow on entry and mid corner, cannot brake as late as others and make my apexes. When I look at the radar i see cars really close in under brakes and mid corner but I am on the power early but my net time is a struggle.

I am addicted to Race A, it is a mild SR killer but is so so much fun in VR. Thought I’d download a French 🇫🇷 guy who clearly lost his mind and decided retribution was better than calmly finishing in a DR+ position.
The craziest observation is the fact he missed at the guy he disliked!!
Watch and enjoy 🥳🕺🤣

@Bondwhar you said it... SR killer!

It finally happened, I got the dreaded DR reset. I'm really upset at this one. I can't figure out whether a combo like Race A is just a little too technical for a lot of people, mistakes are heavily punished and tend to have a lot of collateral damage.

I'm assuming there's sparse participation too because of the field spread I have been experiencing, which no doubt exacerbates my observations. Generally, I'm not hugely into the SR-off business, but in this case PD should have disabled it.

Very rarely have I seen penalties meted out for the old side-contact into the wall manoeuvre, just for full on rear-endings. To make matters worse, ghosting seems ineffective at giving a helping hand to anyone chasing closely when someone clips a wall, often resulting in a pileup and the aforementioned collateral (unavoidable) SR loss. Early in the race there's normally something of a train forming and it's just bedlam, very often.

It's a shame because with more players dialled in, the weekend could've been promising but now I have to navigate the SR swamp to return to my right level.

I really can only blame myself for trying.

I can feel your pain, I have been trying so so hard to be fair and race cleanly and still my SR has dropped.
As an example of how frustrating this has been, I received a 2 second penalty for hitting a car in front who clipped the wall on the 2nd hard right hander and didn’t ghost 👻.
I have now built up a bit of DR-B flex so will probably race but sit at the back for a number of races to get the SR back to where it truly belongs.
In the SR-A/B lobbies it is manic and just compounds the issue.
That said and done I’m addicted to this race A and do enjoy this sporty little car 🚙.
ATB 🤠
Edit: meant to add, great Q time by the way 🍻

100 % agree here with both points especially regarding the exit. If you follow F1 you get the impression that "first to the apex" can do whatever they want and they other has to yield kind of racing is normal. It is not.

Alonso's "always have to leave a space" is much more correct. You forced him to compromise his exit by going full racing line straight over his face.

I also agree with the no retaliation views in this thread. Tbf I had a good laugh. But it is still wrong. No matter what happened before.

I love the initial move. You perfectly hug the apex on the left hander and they blindly turn into you. 100 % on them.

If there was no contact here and you both kept it side by side the above is even more relevant. Claiming the racing line exit you then would have 100 % pushed them off the track which is a big no no in my book.

Oh no buddy! That’s painful and just reminded me of when I did it!!! You will now have to fake win yourself out of there,

You know what, I read these messages and first I’m like, yay, race A looks a peach im heading there! Then I read sr killer and I’m like, Ooh, not sure about that one 😁 race B will put me up to DR A for a few days at least,

Then there another Soa TT to consider 😂😂
@Stringerbell I had to laugh at this one, sorry, just in case you didn’t know vids are super easy to create, 1) hold down your capture button and choose them amount of time you want to save upto a max of an hour, pres the ps button and it’ll be waiting there to open and heard toward the media centre, 2) choose edit and it will give you a start and end points and you can save as new or replace the hour block, 3) click share and you’ll need a linked YouTube account, here you can upload 4) head over to your videos on YouTube and click share and copy link 5) copy that link to your GTP post

You can also just rewatch some saved video and change the views etc, which I never can be r’sed to do, and just save that as recentl game play

Just in case it helps, I felt bad about laughing

Been enjoying Watkins in the hypercars. Much more challenging to drive than the usual Gr. 4s and 3s.

I understand that they automatically deploy the batteries at certain speeds, but does the driver need to re-charge the battery by braking? Can the battery go to zero (mine got very low late in one race)?

Just raced my son for two hours on a full motion rig sim with a high ffb wheel. We did Exige V6s at RBR, and F4s at Laguna. So much fun, and what a workout. Was just exhausted at the end.

So hard to hit the optimal I find as it's just so twisty and turny that just a touch too hard into a corner or a touch late on the gas and the delta just seems to fly away!

haha what an angry and inaccurate young man!

Soooooooooooo annoying picking up a penalty on the first few corners isn't it, I've been picking them up in t1 and it's just infuriating.

Nice racing to get up to the sharp end, shame about the bin! if it makes you feel better I've ruined more than 60% of my races. The only ones I haven't is when I've ended up with a few seconds in front and behind, any time I've got cars behind me i bottle it!

Ah mate, I feel for you! I was so close to it a few weeks ago as I dropped into the top of SR C but clung on by my finger tips! Good luck getting back, should be a week or so of clubbing seals in the lower lobbies for you with your pace!

Thank you and @newmedia_dev for going into detail, that was why I posted as I didn't think I did anything wrong because I really stuck to the inside but thinking back to other overtakes, i don't think I pay much attention to the exit as I feel like the move is done. Good to know I need to focus on staying on my half of the track on the way out as well.

hahaha yes yes I know! to be fair a few months ago @Bondwhar sent me a message explaining it all to me as well.

TBH I just can't be bothered, youtube is on my phone so film and post just makes it easier, plus it's literally only for you guys. I don't want to do the video al professionally in case I dethrone Rory at the top of GT7 youtube!
