GT7 Daily Race Discussion

I've been pretty dormant for the past 2 weeks here due to ill health & also being away from the dailies.

This week's Race C is the only daily I've touched. What an enjoyable combo. As always, not sticking with the meta cars (Viper, Ford GT & Audi R8) although I've set my fastest TT of 1:26:097 with the R8.

Driving my pocket-rocket RCZ mainly which is feels so lovely. Raced just once today & surprisingly, because of my qualy time, I was on Pole. The players who finished in 1st, 2nd & 4th were placed right behind me. In the race, I let them past one by one as they're much better & faster players than me. I was ok with a 4th placed finish as I just wanted a clean race.

At the end, I finished in 3rd as the 4th placed player pitted one lap too late than me & lost ground. Till the pit stops, we three (2nd 3rd & 4th placed guys) were bumper to bumper as we kept bumdrafting to close the gap to the Viper.

I even knew that the other 3 players in the top 4 are not only fast but also clean. So I was alright with any result that I would achieve in the top 4.

Apart from the RCZ, I tried the 4C which is much faster than the RCZ but felt a little less stable than the RCZ in S2. S1 is where the 4C excelled for me.

This daily race C catapulted me into DR A category after 2 months which feels rewarding.

Looking forward to Watkins Glen from tomorrow as 2 racing compound tyres will makes Gr.4 racing entertaining as well. As always, won't touch the typical meta cars here too (GT by Citroen & G70).

Been good racing again today at Bathurst, really for the most part enjoyed my races over sat and sun, I think those wall pens kill your SR, because I had really clean race and apart from a thump to the wall for a 1sec pen, ended in a SR red when it was the only incident.

I’m really looking forward to spa, I think I’m just going to DR farm it and get some respectability back, now at 25k but I did wake up to being SR B!!! Sorted that in 3 races early morning before the fam got up!

But anyhoo, got 3 wins today and the award for the jammiest get in town for this way of serving my pen 🤣 Which is harsh AS at Bathurst

Decided to definitely have a break from GT7. Rebuilt my PC into a new case last weekend and it seemed an ideal time to play some other games. If you don't see me around here for a bit - that's why. I'll be keeping an eye out for any "must race" combos though so its not goodbye!

I’m thinking I’m going to mix in some other games on a few nights as often feel burned out by the weekend on GT7.

Stringerbell you have exceeded the limits of this game so so fast and well done to you. I would imagine A+ is a realistic target and fair play, go get em Tiger. :gtpflag:

Bought all the outstanding DLC for Destiny 2 as it's on a mega discount atm then it'll be Halo.

Put 500 hours in GT7. I barely touch career (apart from the licences) and the variety in daily races isn't great so I often find I'm scratching around for something to do but mainly I feel I'm out of form. Better to take a break than throw my wheel through the TV 😂.

Thank you sir!!! You’re too kind. I’m hoping I can stabilize myself im the mid/top end of A in the next few months. I’ve dropped back into B then back into A twice in the last 5 weeks and probably will at spa 😂🤦‍♂️

I need more track time as I can get a fairly nice quali but consit next is what lets me down.

I saw that about destiny and it rang a bell because I think you mentioned it before that you played it.

I watched a few gameplay videos as thought I’d give it a whirl but there so much going on and it’s so fast pace I wouldn’t even know where to start 😂 did look fun though. I think I’m going to give last part of Elden ring a go, nightreign once or twice a week.

Hopefully see you back when the bug hits you again!!!

Is it too much to ask (I don't think so) for Sony to let us know before we write a message to another player, that the person's settings don't allow for us to send them a message?
I tried to send an explanation and apology to another player that I bumped off the track on the last lap at Bathhurst because someone hit me from behind. I spent about two minutes writing an explanation to this person, and when I was done, Sony just said NO! It's happened to me at least 100 times.
Let me know that before I waste my time, you morons. :dunce:

I hate it when that happens, eventually I just figured if they've blocked their messages they're not interested in engaging with others, if they want to be mad let them be mad.

You can get some constructive conversations if you're dealing with adults and if you send them your clip of whatever incident it clears everything up.

You're right.
I only send messages if they're congratulatory, or apologetic.
I have made a lot of friends this way. Some people are just overwhelmed when they receive a sincere apology.

That's pretty standard there for me (B/S) but I'm also auto on a controller and if you're stick on a wheel you absolutely can start braking later than I can and still make the corner so sometimes it's a divebomb but sometimes it's taking advantage of the advantages they have

My ratings are A/S with both bars either maxed out or almost full.

Just start with a short hello and send that. If it goes through then type the rest of your message
 
Wanted to race one more time at DF before the new dailies would kick in. Was fortunate enough to again have some players whom I raced yesterday & are known to be clean but fast.

Somehow I started on pole & was expecting two if not three to catch up to me & pass me but surprisingly, I was in the lead of the race from start to finish. In such an instance, I'm my biggest competitor as in not making any mistake or running off track to get time penalty. I didn't so I was able to stay ahead. Also, this race proved yet again that setting a good qualy time is essential to escape the chaos of the mid pack.

My trustworthy RCZ doing the job as always. Finished my last daily race C with the most ideal finish I could dream of.

P.S. - The player who finished in P8 seems familiar by name & past history but don't know if it's him in question or not. I was worried he would create utter chaos but he I believe was clean & respectful.

What are the cars for each race? I was hoping gr3 SPA

Think I will use the R8, seems like it's the meta, which means most of the lap guides will be based around that car.

I don't think it will I was more than half a second behind you last time round
 
Shame Sards is reverse, why ruin a good track? Might stick with Spa this week, been really struggling for seat time.

(though I’d prefer Sards A the non-reverse way).

Had some time today and did 5 races on daily race A. Found decent pace and had 3 podiums, one of them the holy Grail of pole, FL, clean race and win.

And finally, finally after 226 races this got me into DR A for the very first time.

And am I crazy for thinking that Sardegna A is better in reverse? Even despite the first hairpin being a punt fest.
