Why do you think that?

It has power understeer* (being nearly 500hp*, light and mid engined?)

But it’s nice to drive, the middle pace between Hyundai cup Gr4 and Gr3 racing.

You just really need to brake a bit earlier and be more patient or controlled on the power, not a massive ask to do for the tires really.

This is what I love about the revised physics. The Pork 959 is also a proper understeery Mary if you don't drive it as it needs to be driven.
My last daily was an A4 (B6) with the 3.0 petrol v6 up front and mechanical Quattro. You had to balance throttle inputs carefully to avoid understeer. And when you got it right it was a whole heap of honey roast happiness!
I'm finding tons more realism with the new feel. Loving it 💯

You mean Counter Steering Assistance? Yes I have it on strong. I'm not one of those drivers that has a moral objection to using assistance.

I basically perceive the CSA aid as an extension of the ABS aid.

No shade taken😅

Went back to using CSA for race A and found a couple of tenths. CSA in this case enables you to be more aggressive over the curbs.

Completed a couple of races with it on and felt more comfortable and therefore more competitive.

This race had it all. Penalties, mistakes, overtakes, cheap moves - the lot!

So Monza either on the Supra or the Viper, I guess.
If Brands is still an Elantra cup, I don’t see myself driving Gr4 for a while till the new BoP of spec IV is in place.
 
After a few tries and multiple punts and spin-outs, Dragon Trial has become ruthless and i even been a stern victim of the death chikaaaannneeee from hell! Only managed to get a decent 5th place today and that was tricky for me, I still ranked a C rated driver, oh crikey! Various strategies worked following Calsters advice but i prefer the 8RM then 4RS strat to win, Will need to try a few more this week to improve my timings, but recovering from a rear punt & shunt is hard.

Mate because these next week's dailies get revealed, which class of cars will run in which race doesn't get revealed though. The percentage is a rough probability of the class of car that may be used for that specific daily.

Supra has gone down the trenches now. Genesis shouldn't be the meta because of not having a good top end. I feel the F-Type could be the surprise package at Monza.

Yeah not sure what the new BOP has for us at Monza. Last time we had this combo I won two races in the Jag.

WHat's the story with driver ratings being so tough now? Is the game just left with hard core racers? I am closer tot he top times in qualy than ever before yet now i'd say i've dropped to a genuine B driver, rarely get up to A now. The standard is crazy high.

Fastest lap times are 7RM/5RS, 8 and 4 seems overkill on the M. In saying that, the undercut is VERY strong and I went from 12tht o 3rd in a race last night by doing 6/6, by lap 7 the mediums are well worn, you exit on fresh softs and can gain like 3 to 4 seconds very easily. The catch is you then need to nurse the front left or it dies before the end of the race.

Seaside is brilliant now, I've absolutely no idea why the physics change has made the COD so much easier but at one point I was barely getting through there half the time in the past and now hit the wall maybe once in 12 laps.

I’m glad you’ve noticed it as well, as I was wondering the same thing.

My Bathurst time was inside the top 400 and I was starting 10th in A lobbies when previously getting into the top 800 was good enough for top half.

It could be the simple fact that at this stage of the game's life, the only people left playing online are the dedicated ones.

SR is likely a more effective sorting pot simply due to the fact that slow drivers get quick much more effectively than dirty drivers get clean.

I mean it doesn't really matter, so long as one is amongst drivers of similar pace. This week has been weird though, my qualy is a 28 flat and I am lining up bottom half of B grids, that seems very low, usually in an all B room I am top 3 but nope.

Yeah agreed, but it is nice to be battling it out for the win/podiums when you’ve had a good qualifying. I just didn’t expect it would take a top 150 time to do that 🤷‍♂️
 
I think my QT is 75th or so for race A but racing and being beat by a lot of other DR B's

I too have noticed how difficult it is to get a win. Dropped from almost A+ at one point to top of B as of this week.

My demise seems to have coincided with ditching the Logitech G923 and getting the DD Pro wheel.

I was wondering if these are A+ players on alternate accounts!?
 
Had a cracking race A this morning, started p2 behind an AS rated driver with a QT 1.5sec faster than mine, so expected I would run around on my own as the rest of the lobby was C&D rated drivers, but literally me and this guy ran around trading first place and in the end I couldnt get past and finished 4tenths behind him.

I suspect people are finding exploits in the physics to get very fast QTs is all. I've heard if you switch ABS off or onto Weak, brake bias makes much more difference, which if used correctly could get you a second or more off your QT. Also noticed that a lot of players who set a very good QT don't perform anywhere near as well in the actual race, which makes me think they're turning ABS off for the QT and turning it back on for the race as they can rely more on drafting.
Exploit isn't the right word as that would imply cheating. More so just figuring things out by trial and error, coupled with spending hours and hours learning the physics.
For reference I'm A+ rank and I got there using a T300 and TLCM pedals and always used TC2 in races. I now have an RS50 and use no TC and my laptimes are as good or better than they ever were but it just doesn't put me in the top 8 in an A+ or even a mainly A player lobby anymore.
If you watch SuperGT's latest video, he's going thru the same thing. He was struggling to place better than 5th in a lobby of A and A+ drivers, whereas before he would often get a podium in all A+ lobbies.
 
I am more competitive in race pace for sure, well at seaside anyways, but small sample size. Still not as fast as the top B guys though for sure.
 
I just shifted to a G29 wheel yesterday after years & years on a controller. As the transition phase could be slow in terms of time & my outright pace, I'll probably be less active on this thread. My main focus will be to spend hours per day playing with the wheel & because I'm going to be many seconds slow, won't take part in daily races. Will attempt TTs for sure.

Wish me luck guys as I'll need plenty of it..... :gtpflag: :cheers:

I understand Your suggestion that I should play dailies to get upto speed but as You'd expect, I'm way off in my braking inputs & steering even. In my process to re-learn, I've got no right to ruin other players' races especially those ones who would start behind me on the grid.

As for suggestions on getting upto speed, will undergo license tests & CE's too.

I've been driving in the real world since 29 years now & every day I drive my car, I still enjoy (thanks to the racing exhaust...hehe) driving. So I knnow once I get upto grips with the steering wheel, I shall be much faster than my controller times. Because I struggle with progressive acceleration, trail braking & swift direction changes using the analog stick has shrunk my confidence level a lot.

I enjoy clean racing but can't be consistent because of the reasons above. Which is why had to shift to a wheel. Will also use Calster 25 as an added inspiration as he shifted from controller to wheel but got upto speed in 2 weeks or so which won't be my case.

Looking for to participating in dailies soon as this is only what I play in Gt7 now.

Welcome to the Wheelies family. I used a G923 for almost 2 years before switching to DD wheels. Be sure to have the controller's sensitivity set to 5. Higher or lower gives awful steering.
FFB torque between 6 and 10 according to car category.
FFB sensitivity never higher than 8, cause above that value the "rattling" of the wheel becomes unbearable. I've also wrapped the base with foam rubber to reduce significantly the noise.

Edit: Go and repeat all licences tests and missions. It will be enough to get back to speed.

Enjoy the move chief. I had a NIGHTMARE of a time adjusting to a wheel but in retrospect I think it was because I had a cheap wobbly stand and a terrible cheap wheel (T150). Once I got a solid rig and went to a decent wheel, adaptation was much, much faster. Once you're used to it, you'll never go back.

I'm done for the week, Seaside was fun and far better now the COD is not such a nightmare, though I feel the driving standards in some races were just appalling.
 
Well, I reckon there’s race As to do this weekend, not sure about Bathurst but let’s see - managed a few races before work and a couple on the lunch breaks I managed this week, but no wins and none expected but some good racing out there.

I’ve been doing the weekly challenges and the sophy challenges more and more, hadn’t gotten around to those dlc races yet so there’s some money coming thick and fast to help in my quest to complete the car collection.

Just had a fantastic race in Race C. I normally start on RM’s but had been trying to improve my QT so accidentally started 5th on RS’s.
Pitted after 5 laps and automatically put another set of RS’s on 🫣😳.
Did another 6 laps (slightly less wear as less fuel) and popped in again for a set of RM’s and managed to finish 5th despite 2 pit stops 🤣🤣🤣🤠
