Tried 2 sessions on day 1. Not such a thrillingly enjoyable combo so I haven't even been remotely tempted to return back.

Relatively content with my lap-time however. I tried several concoctions of different settings:- CSA plus default ABS, CSA plus weak, no CSA plus default and then finally, the setting that felt the best for this car by quite some margine, weak ABS with no other aids.

You were right, ABS weak and no assists is a way to go!

Happy 4th to all of us in the States! Gotta take every opportunity to enjoy the time off with family and friends 👍 I put a decent lap together 1:39.732 with the DB11 ‘16, but oh man, finding the needed traction in sector 1 of all places continues to be my weakness. The way the engine rumbles and purrrs when shifting down, ah it’s a thing of beauty…

Went back to Spa. Still have more laps to make. T1 and going down the mountain in S2 still gives me issues. I don't know why I struggle there. I am figuring out the wheel base is long on this car, so the turning characteristics seem delayed. Once I get that hammered out, I should see the faster laps. I hope.

Sooooo close to cracking the 2:16s.
Starting to figure out the understeer/drift I'm feeling and keep off those damn bollards. The one at the bottom of the mountain at the start of S3, yeah, it's asking for chainsaw treatment for all the fast laps it's killed.
Amazing how many people are in this one. Just broke into the 800s with a 1.19% lap. 😧

I knew this was going to be a struggle but not this much... After 1.5hrs I only had one completed valid lap (2:17:8xx), and just as I was about to give up I managed to put together a solid one, of course with WR ghost walking away in sector 2 like he has 2 compounds softer tires and 50 more horsepower, but still, my goal of getting into 2:16s is complete, and I won't be coming back here

Life's been pretty hectic lately, so again here I am catching up on a time trial just before it closes - fortunately had the benefit today of a slow day at work which allowed me to get some laps in the early-ish afternoon while splitting the attention between the business laptop and the game on a separate screen.

On target for another top 1000! I guess this combo has some similarities with the kart TT from a couple of weeks back, seems like the ones that are about maintaining momentum at lower speeds work for me rather well, comparatively at least.

Happy to snatch P2 with this lap after a long 80 mile session. Really tried to use intensity rather than calm, casual rolling the car into the apex style driving that I normally use with road cars.

This car seems to favour the former, as you need to 'catch' the car very aggressively when it immediately starts to subtly drift upon corner exits. In doing so you grip the car sooner and can carry more straight line speed.

I used this mentality to great effect during the final sector, purpled it by over a tenth☺️.

It was an excellent lap, and your replay/ghost helped me figure out a couple things that worked better for me than what the #1 ghost did, so I very much thank you for your awesome performance!

And speaking of, I only ran 39 laps tonight but managed an 0:58.784 on lap 31 (previous best was a .807) with an optimum in the .6s.

And...and I'm not sure where in my ass I pulled this out of (a lovely image, I'm sure)...then I went and ran a 0:58.574 on lap 38.

😳

Optimum was a .568, wasn't seeing much improvement on lap 38 or the half of 39 that I ran...so I'd say I am calling this one good!

We'll see if 90th holds or not - unlikely given there is a few days left, but I'll take it!

After some hard TTs following, we have two easy TT and fun.

Gordini is a fun car to drive because it`s lack of power but excelent weightless characteristic. The most difficult part from this TT is get used to the racing line. Some curves like the one from downhill is totally different from what I thought be the fastest one. Also, because of lack of power, any minimum countersteering is a high penal in lap time.

DB11 in Interlagos it`s nice too, and the secret to get some precious time is the Senna S and Junção/Café curves. Becasue the high power, any early throttle means understeer, than you lost speed easily. Secret for S is being aggressive with kerbs in exit of S, almost going to the grass. I found 0,25 s when did that in one of invalidated laps.

Why are we on SS in the Gordini?
  • Someone at PD needed to test higher grip compounds on skinny, small wheels. We are the lab animals / aliens.
  • Someone at PD is trolling us by giving us conditions where a car with basically no power and all its weight over the driven wheels can still break traction

Yeah, it the R8 Gordini certainly seems to like oversteering when you brake. I felt like I was almost constantly correcting the car so I could maintain grip as long as possible. Funny enough, I found the car/track combination pretty fun, especially since it involves a racecar with lower power on a short but technical layout.

Had a solid session last night at Interlagos. Managed a decent time, but room for a lot of improvement as the ending of S2 is kicking my tail. I'm losing 3-5 tenths there. Going to keep working on it and see.if I can get that top 50 I've been chasing.

Well, it is a tuned race car. If you haven't already, go to the garage and read the facts on the car, very interesting.
