And unlike most here I personally lack the motivation to put in the hours. You grinders here are the true beasts and the real heroes. Inspiring.
Each to his own but grinding for endless hours to get in the top 100 or whatever, man, tough sledding unles you're one of the freaks int he top 10. I get my gold and vanish off to race.

Couldn’t even muster 100 kms on the R8 Gordini at Horse Thief Mile. Didn’t like it at all and generally struggling with motivation for Gran Turismo right now... On paper a pretty cool combo but in my opinion it felt like crap on SS, should’ve been on the CM tyres it comes with or CS at most. Probably the least time I’ve spent on a TT in more than a year. Anyway, a 0’58.516 it was.

First try and GTP top 10... come on 😄
Well, sure. Just about. Still felt like **** though.
Asked myself the same question when I gave it a go last night, thought this would be comfort soft at most.

Must be driving a different car to everyone else, cannot stand the way it handles.
Concur a 100% with you, man. As is often the case. :)
  • Someone at PD needed to test higher grip compounds on skinny, small wheels. We are the lab animals / aliens.
  • Someone at PD is trolling us by giving us conditions where a car with basically no power and all its weight over the driven wheels can still break traction
Yeah, perhaps!

Well, it is a tuned race car. If you haven't already, go to the garage and read the facts on the car, very interesting.
Sure but still felt really strange to drive. I’ll have a look at the car collection info though, that’s a good tip to slowly tick off all the “unread” cars. ;)

650 Gr.4 at Spa. Can you even come up with a more uninspring combo? You could brew and drink up a coffee by the time you’ve passed Eau Rouge and Kemmel. We couldn’t even get nighttime which could’ve been a slightly redeeming factor, instead this combo just makes you wanna uninstall the game.

I’m back, DB11 and Gordini times.

Spa...feels like Deja vu? I wonder why...

First session out in the McLaren - the car isn't bad at all, very very stable and easy to control. 2:31's just eluded me tonight (though an optimum of .888 certainly means they should be feasible), with my best being a 2:32.068 (aside from the 2:31.941 I did run that one of those stupid bollards invalidated - I consider that theft). Towards the end, it was starting to get weirdly understeery and I was missing markers, so I called it quits for tonight when I somehow blew Turn 1.

More laps in Brazil. Gained a bit and squeezed into the top 100 with P96, but that won't last long. There has been no indications I can get much faster, so I think I'm done here.
Did a few laps at Spa to get a feel for it. I get its been overused, but damn, it's the most enjoyable of the three for sure. Had some fun with it. Only got to 2.33.060, so I'm off by over a second 🤣 but it was fun.

Hi Guys,

A quick visit on the forum!
Sorry I am not that active but life is still freaking crazy, working around 11 to 12 hours a day so the 5 o clock buzzer isn't realy that fun anymore 🤣

Off to the land of @Jeje6410 , sun, sea and baguettes!

Au revoir! 😁🤣
Welcome in France my dear Jomar and happy holidays 🫶🫶❤️

Why do they use RH tires even on time trial? Dont they trust the physics to work with RM tires?! Same with other time trials - no one would take cars like the recent Aston Martin to track with such terrible tires that they use. Propably wouldnt even be legal to use those tire in a high performance car..😂 to me this is classic case of unneccessary japanese game design sadomasokism.

This is weird. Both easy and hard at the same time. Easy to handle but hard to not lose tons of time.

The Gr. 4 Aero ist weird as well. Need to slow way down to make a corner but it seems to hook super well when you accelerate very early. Totally unintuitive.

And I have a hunch that short shifting is important. Is that right? And what would be the point at the indicator? (Sorry haven't check guides or replays yet)

Yup, @Tidgney mentioned that in his video, and, for most of my session, I mis-remembered it as shifting at the downshift gear indicator, not the actual one to the left. Even that small of a change (and thus shorter shift) was noticeable in the higher speed sectors, especially the 5-6 change.

The McLaren feels odd as I'd just been doing races all week in group 3 so it took time to recalibrate. Got into safe gold in 7 or 8 laps but its, I dunno, a weird car, you need to slow more than you think to make the corner.

Someone above answered my question on the aston correctly, I drove more smoothly rather than trying to miscle it around and I found a second of lap time for safe gold.

Odd tidbit, for the three current time trials I am at 2.5pc, 2.5pc and 2.53pc.

Thanks for all the advice regarding shift points. Immediately managed safe within 2 laps. Then pushed some more and improved a bit. I'm weirdly inconsistent in some parts though. Some times the cars just doesn't turn and understeer wide. Other times I break at the exact same spot and make it fine.

I remembered that the Mcclaren Gr4 requires shorter shifting. I’m in vr though so not sure where that was.

I was shifting where the center red 4 shift lights are lit in the dash before it goes into white (?) and flashes at you.

Does that sound right?

Back at it with the Aston since it ends only a few days from now. Best I could do tonight was only ~2 tenths better, and still out of the 1:39s, with a 1:40.129, but optimums of a 1:39.893.

Not entirely understanding what I am missing here, besides it seemingly being a complete tossup on whether or not the car turns how you want it, and whether or not it hooks or spins.

With some effort managed to improve to a 41.4 with the Aston, and it felt at the time like the sort of laptime I would peak at - however as it placed me at the high end of the 900s on the leaderboard, opted to try for at least 41.39x or something to secure a top 1000 spot.

Then experienced the rare occurrence of the The Lap(tm) where suddenly all corners came together and instead of finding a couple of missing hundreths, cut down the entire laptime by around 3,5 tenths and threw myself into the leaderboard 500s.

defo not beating that any further, good moment to move on
