Urrrgh I have the Red Bull down to a 1.09.6 which is that annoying area where you are tempted to keep trying rather than settle for silver. I am not flat through the tricky bollard dip right hander, suspect that is worth a chunk of time so will see what that brings me.

Gotta say, going from this TT to Gr3 sport mode racing makes the Gr3 feel like slow motion!

Interestingly easy combo, tried 2 sessions. Concluded that I'm way faster with CSA in strong (with weak ABS). I don't think I can extract much more time out of my lap, but I'll certainly try a few more sessions to see If I can get a lucky final sector.

I think staying in 4th gear for the initial S section is slightly faster than utilising 3rd gear there, yes 3rd has more torque but it annoyingly bounces off rev limiter exiting the S, forcing you to lift.

Oh ****, seriously? I usually need the full two weeks to get around to the TT and improve over the course of a few sessions, especially since I'm about a week behind and there's an extra TT to deal with.

Exactly for this reason. The last time I recall we had a one-week TT was the week before the Eiger Nordwand update and its physics overhaul.

Which probably means a physics overhaul in this update too.

This isn't really what happens.

What happens is that time boundaries are changed, to reflect the new physics: if it becomes too easy to make the original time, the new time is faster; if it becomes too hard to make the original time, the new time is slower. The leaderboards are also wiped.

Anything you have already achieved with regards to gold, silver, and bronze remains in place in your record, regardless of how the times change or if the leaderboards are wiped, while your own record is displayed for you (but nobody else) and may be better than the next level up (if the new target time is slower) but does not qualify you for it - because when you set the time it only met the lower standard.

Your percentage progress (for Arcade races) also remains. These are not reset "to zero".
 
Unpopular opinion, I hope they make getting ont he power a touch easier for Group 3, i realise this offends the purists but on RH tyres I find it really unpredictable where and when I can start to gently apply throttle. It's also neutered RWD cars because the MR cars are so much easier to get on the gas with.
 
Cool, another shorter session tonight (because Woodward), back in the Daytona and got myself into the 1:51s, with a 1:51.872. Optimum of a .591, so clearly there's more in it.

But, with two other time trials I also need to be completed to my liking (of placement), the question is: will I have the time? I expect this, like the Camaro at Alsace, will probably be the least infuriating of the three currently available.

Ugh, ****...does that mean there will be two TTs dropped next week, since we won't have the MR2 carrying on into the following week? :confused:

The first session is done. Being 4 tenths behind Adam at this time tells me one thing, he’ll most likely drive 51.7xx if not even faster lap.

Funny guy thinking a 7xx is possible, if its driven I'll be uninstalling GT7.

I think a high 8 is the threshold for this combo. That will require insane execution to get it.

Sirvia, one of the fastest road car drivers from Japan, drove over 600km to get his 972. That just gives you a rough idea of how improbable an 8xx is, let alone a 7xx.

Not that it really matters that much but some of his kms from yesterday were from Route X and daily A though, as he was setting the WR there. Still of course probably gave the MR2 a good spin.
 
Awesome time Adam! Happy to drive a 967 and surpass sirvia for P2.

I discovered that not swinging the car all the way over to the inside approaching the finish line is actually slightly faster. Going for a more wider line enables you to carry a faster apex speed (by about 1-1.5 mph) and you subsequently reach a faster speed crossing the line.

You don't lose out to the most popular line I've seen:- a slower apex speed but a more acute line that requires less total distance travelled.

I am having good time with the double D's! I know I got some more time out there, mainly the chicane exit. Then Beer entered the competition and won. 😂 so I went and ran a few 6 pack laps in the MR2. I like that combo!!! Sure wish we had the extra week.
