Considered turning off the reset at every sector setting and going for a slower ghost instead? Perhaps not ideal if you’re used to the resetting but still... better, no?
This is what I've already done, and even then I still start to lose the ghost since it doesn't reset. Typically, following a faster ghost that resets every sectors allows me, myself, to become faster because I can see braking points and lines taken and what not.
I'd sort of agree. I absolutely love The Ring, but it's just too much for a weekly TT event like this. The aliens are able to post some crazy times that us plebes (referring to myself, not you lol) really can't hope to approach. I think it's weird that some events have a relaxed 20% for bronze but not this one. Personally, I think for Nord TTs they should actually relax every tier - make it 5% gold, 8% Silver and 20% bronze. That way at least you have a decent chance of getting paid for the effort.

Thanks, I know that's exactly why it’s also on the side of the Hyundai WRC car. But just because Hyundai builds a van, it doesn't mean we have to drive it on the Nordschleife. I get the meme, but if you're going to just accept everything, don't complain about what the automotive industry has become over the last 10 years.

The ’73 Porsche was pretty great and so was the 911 Club Sport ’95 but let’s not forget the early masterpiece, the NSX ’02 at Nordschleife (tuning allowed). Man, that thing handled like a dream. I still rank it as one of the top most fun TT’s of all time so far.
Mh. Different things have different value to people, I guess. At this point the credits don’t really mean anything to me, sure they helped earlier on (should be a grand total of 452 mil I think if I’ve counted correctly, two at 4M) and I’ll always make sure I can receive the two mil but every now and then I go and purchase some expensive rides just to make sure to avoid the credit roof.
A streak starts to mean less and less and becomes a mess and difficult to keep track of if you start to mess around with its continuity because of rules changing.
Really only if you do a bad job of that, sure. Honestly, so many cars are developed at Nurburgring, it doesn't make the car as special as Hyundai thinks it does.

I agree, for me, the '95 Porsche one was the best. But even the Elantra TCR, despite being front-wheel drive, was pretty nice (definitely better than the Gr.3 cars or the Red Bull).
If you want to believe they built that car on the Nordschleife, you're free to do so, but it’s all pure marketing. Unfortunately, since its bankruptcy, the Nurburgring takes sponsorships from absolutely anything. Back in the day, doing a lap on the Nordschleife was a real challenge mostly for the driver, since it's the one track where the car matters less.
By "vans," I mean that that 2,300 kg thing is basically comparable to a Fiat Ducato (honestly, a Ducato might even weigh less).

Then, fortunately, that's not what happened. Hyundai developed the regular Ioniq 6 to be a regular electric car to do regular electric car things; HMG is actually pretty good at battery and motor tech generally, and I've found their mi/kWh efficiency to be better than any peer.
The WRC car livery is literally just the "Hyundai N" livery which you'll see on that, the Elantra N TCR, the Ioniq 5N's Pikes Peak cars, and probably others:
It was developed there, Hyundai has a major test facility there for vehicle dynamics and performance development, and the whole sub-brand is in part named for there.
Quoted top speed is 257km/h, which I can only guess is limited by design for heating/derating purposes. Could be the max the drive will spin to I suppose, but I don't think PD got the acceleration right even accounting for N-GRIN Shift. I drove the 5N a couple of years back and it was quite a lot quicker - and I didn't use the boost from rest because that's silly.

This trial has highlighted that I am not that competitive without a ghost 1 tenth in front of me being reset every sector.
My first attempt I tried to keep up with the number 1 time, but that didn't go very well so I switched to a slower ghost about 7 seconds off the pace and I still couldn't really keep up with that either.
Can't wait to see the participation numbers for this one, being 10 seconds off the pace and still top 100, this will surely be under 150,000 entries.
Having to hold the boost button for 9 and a half minutes straight was not at all painful and annoying.
And I can only imagine that this car is not performing similarly to its real life counterpart, barely able to breach 250kmh even downhill, and it really shows its weight under braking and direction change.
Normally I love a good Nurburgring trial, not this time.
