Great lap!
I'm telling ya...that thing is just too much fun. I am having blast with it, even when i get tired I just keep making laps. šŸ˜‚
Thanks!

Yes - it certainly helps when laps are sub-two minutes!

I forgot to mention: as is tradition, today was lawn-mowing day (we must've gotten about 12 feet of rain the last couple days, so it was very long already and very wet)...I dunno what it is, but it seems to help me out in TTs...for some reason!

Hopefully I'm able to knock ~half a second or so off at Suzuka upon getting back from vacation, as I'll only have a few days to do so, and I'll still need to finish that week's daily challenges as well. I'm glad I picked the Honda tonight, though.

Ah yeah, you get dangerous on the leaderboards after mow day. I don't have a set schedule on mine. I just mow it around my work schedule, weather, and all of the other single man crap I have to do. But, today is going to be mow day for me too (it's about shin height LOL). I'll wait until the sun gets on the west side of of my trees and gives some shade. I'm still on this whole 'no beer' kick šŸ˜’ I am going to have to have a 'cheat day' before this Laguna combo goes away for sure. šŸŗšŸ˜Ž
At this point, not sure when I will start Suzuka. I am looking forward to it though. Since PD basically destroyed my beloved 458  rendering it basically useless in any type of competition, I have to learn the 296. I don't hate the car, but not real fond of it. It is much wider to me and trips track limit penalties, and just barely tap walls in it (Deep Forest). I like steering with the back tires to get fast and the 458 is an absolute beauty at it. I think that why I like the Honda right now so much it is just like it, if not better at it. But, the 296's balance feels 'off' to me. The CG is set to where it just skids and doesn't let the backend just step out under control. I try to throw the back tires out and there I go, skidding sideways across the track. Uhhhg. Sooo, Suzuka is a favorite of mine and I was in a lobby the other night with a group of A+ guys and was doing well, UNTIL, yep, you guessed it... it skidded out sideways in the first sector S's :banghead:. Anyways, practice on a track I know and enjoy will be good. I certainly won't be at the top of the leaderboards because of car choice, but it will be a learning week and fun.

Morning folks - first try at Suzuka and first run in GT3 with the new physics for me. Tried a few different cars, and for me it’s about finding one that doesn’t wash out at the front under power. So far the Mitsubishi and WRX are the best cars out of the 6 or 7 I tried out this morning. Haven’t tried the RCF or the Genesis yet, decent start though with my fastest time after a 9-lap run in the WRX.

Had a go at Suzuka with the now mighty Genesis coupe Gr3 car and got a good silver time but can improve, where can I get those 3sec back hmmmm???!

Happy Sunday - another morning run in the WRX. RCF was nice but preferred the Subaru. Didn’t like the Genesis. Picked up 3 tenths this morning, with another 2 tenths to find, mainly in turn 1 & 2, although Degner 2 was a bit scrappy and on the limit.

Been trying to get the USA P1 spot. Just missed it with this run. I blew the last right hand turn in S3, lost a tenth or more. 🤬. Anyways going to keep trying as I am sooooo freaking close to getting this!
My current OPT is dipping into the 23s...

Not to put any more pressure on you, but to totally do just that, you are doing this for both of us, since I cannot attempt to do so as well. šŸ˜‚

Keep it up, you're damn close!

I'm trying like hell brother!

Went back to the NSX. I like Laguna Seca most of the time, well at least the tarmac bits šŸ˜†
Picked up a couple of tenths over my last effort to duck under 1:25 (just) without TCS or CSA interference. Target met, job jobbed. Moving on. Hope everyone is well

Not my best, not my worst attempts.

Still playing catch up with the new physics, something feels weird but maybe I just need to deal with it. Anyway, these are two popular tracks I've never been competitive at in world series or other TTs so I'm relatively content regardless!

So this ghost bug...how exactly does it manifest? Is it just with ghosts of other drivers that you've downloaded? I don't generally follow a ghost, but I do use my own ghost as a sort of alternative to the delta display on the hud and I haven't noticed any problems with it. But, I don't have it constantly on...I flip it on and off at points during the lap just to see where I am relative to my current best lap.

Laguna Seca is a very demanding track for trials, I was way off the pace for the first 200km before I really figured out how to tackle this.

The Honda is one of the better VGT's to drive which was a relief, it has quite a bit of torque though, so wheel spin on corner exit is always a problem and it seems to have a hard time retaining momentum if you get into a slide. The key to driving it seemed to be reducing brake pressure where it wasn't necessary, you can carry quite a bit of speed through corners, and I found that I was just hitting the brakes for too long. Once this was figured out, I started making up the time.

T4 & T6 require absolute precision to get around quickly, miss your turn in point and you're headed for the beach or bouncing off a sausage kerb, brake too early and you lose all cornering speed. And then every corner was the corkscrew until the final corner was a weak point for me, as per usual here, such an awkward section of track.

Optimum was a 24.357, which I set on one lap before capitulating and dumping 4 tenths in the final sector. If I had held it together, that would've saved me 150km and put me in the top 100, but I was never able to replicate that unfortunately.

Gr3 at Suzuka sounds boring, not excited for that one.

I don't use the ghost of my own lap, but it seems to affect ghosts you download from the leaderboard (the top 10 positions and anyone who has put in a top 10 lap at any stage). For whatever reason if you have the setting for the ghost to reset back to your position at every sector turned on, regardless of what kind of gap you want it to reset to, it resets about 2 seconds behind you at every sector which kind of defeats the purpose of having a ghost to follow. I've had to change that setting so it only resets at the start of a new lap, and even that occasionally resets 2 seconds behind me, though thankfully this only happened 2-3 times over the course of 2.5 hours. Having it reset once per lap is also difficult, particularly while you're still getting used to a trial as the #1 time is normally too far up the road to be useful as a ghost by the end of sector 1, almost out of sight by the end of the lap. Wasn't until I was at the end of my session and setting more competitive times that I was able to stay reasonably close to the ghost so it was actually useful for a whole lap.

Ok, Laguna Seca. I'm out...
Did 170km's (+/- 105miles) yesterday, with roughly 60% invalid laps.
Got my PB down from a 1:26.361 to a 1:26.20x... Optimal was 1:25.903
I just can't seem to get a good continuous lap together... Very frustrating.
S1 is ok-ish and pretty consistent with around 22:5xx, then I either lose time in S2 or invalidate. S3 is usually good but last corner is hit or miss...

The ghost situation also affects your own ghost. Tried it because the faster ghost are of no use to me currently. Same issue...
Reset every sector it's starts 1-2s behind, reset every lap is mostly ok but it occasionaly also starts 1s behind...

Time for Suzuka. šŸ¤ž
