Your bad mood is warranted and encouraged. I, too, have been wondering just how low the participation numbers will be given my placement while merely barely being in gold.Managed a grand total of 2 valid and complete laps over 250km...
This trial has highlighted that I am not that competitive without a ghost 1 tenth in front of me being reset every sector.
My first attempt I tried to keep up with the number 1 time, but that didn't go very well so I switched to a slower ghost about 7 seconds off the pace and I still couldn't really keep up with that either.
Can't wait to see the participation numbers for this one, being 10 seconds off the pace and still top 100, this will surely be under 150,000 entries.
Having to hold the boost button for 9 and a half minutes straight was not at all painful and annoying.
And I can only imagine that this car is not performing similarly to its real life counterpart, barely able to breach 250kmh even downhill, and it really shows its weight under braking and direction change.
Normally I love a good Nurburgring trial, not this time.

And now we have a VGT at Laguna Seca ... sigh
I am in a bad mood today and it is certainly coming through in this post![]()
I need to take a closer look at that livery.Really struggling with the Honda at Laguna Seca.

Skipping the IONIQ 6N Challenge. The thought of holding down the Boost button almost the entire lap annoys me. 😤 😅
78,378 with an hour to go.Can't wait to see the participation numbers for this one, being 10 seconds off the pace and still top 100, this will surely be under 150,000 entries.
It‘s actually just 78,347* which, looking at @half_sourly master table, makes it the second least popular right after the Red Bull X2019 on the same layout in December 24. I am not surprised. 😉Can't wait to see the participation numbers for this one, being 10 seconds off the pace and still top 100, this will surely be under 150,000 entries.
Top speed does not seem to be that different from the real life one indeed :Quoted top speed is 257km/h, which I can only guess is limited by design for heating/derating purposes. Could be the max the drive will spin to I suppose, but I don't think PD got the acceleration right even accounting for N-GRIN Shift. I drove the 5N a couple of years back and it was quite a lot quicker - and I didn't use the boost from rest because that's silly.
How I'm disappointed when PD can't pick one car for TT, instead going on whole group where in the end always comes out one meta car as Genesis now...View attachment 1562627

You can pretend it’s a single car event by jumping in the Genesis. Others will welcome the challenge of trying to achieve gold in a nerfed Gr.3 carHow I'm disappointed when PD can't pick one car for TT, instead going on whole group where in the end always comes out one meta car as Genesis now...
Here's the thing, at Watkins the same car started as the Meta but has fallen to the third most common car behind the BMW and the 296. I suspect the 296 will be very strong at Suzuka, it responds very well to trail braking which is key in sector 1.How I'm disappointed when PD can't pick one car for TT, instead going on whole group where in the end always comes out one meta car as Genesis now...

😂 I might try one of the endurance races in the power pack over the long weekend, so that’ll take up most of my time, with substantially less time to time trial. You’ve got more than a shot to get ahead of me!! 🙂 I put in a decent first effort, definitely more time on the table but given how unfamiliar I am with the new-ish physics, I’m happy with it 😋I don't typically enjoy higher downforce TT's, but this one wasn't too bad - figured I'd spend potentially my last TT session of the week at Suzuka, as I'm quite happy with my lap at Laguna Seca (and I know that if I improve, @PowerJunkie and @bigfluffy888 will just go in and nail an even better lap while I'm on vacation, with no chance for a rebuttal).
Got myself down to a 2:00.350 with an optimum of a .082, so 1:59s are definitely (maybe) in the cards the last few days when I get back...assuming I remember how I drove the car, which I likely will not. Either way, a decent first session in cars I tend not to excel at, and probably a safe gold in the event that we, for some unforeseen circumstance, could not leave vacation and had to stay up there even more days.
Great lap!Dammit, you motivated me.
Didn't even realize I actually beat my previous best with a 1:24.565 early on in the session, but got that down to a 1:24.354 with an optimum of .213. Shame I don't have more time at my disposal to further improve this, as it's actually pretty fun when it behaves, and I definitely have time in Sector 1...but damn did I nail Turn 5.
