Hi guys!!

Did I say we were overdue a lemon of a combo!?

Uh Oh Thomas GIF

I love the F50, I use it for a lot of the Ferrari challenge races and even with sport medium tyres which I thought were a good fit for this car

I thought

I also like Yas Marina under the lights

Which it isn’t

Now you might or probably might not have noticed I haven’t set a time for this one yet, shall we guess why?

A)I’m away with work
B)I’m on holiday
C)I’m on a track day
D)I’m spending valuable time with my friends and family who I love very much
E)It is a beautiful day in the UK and I have spent the day in nature
F)The lap time has gone red

🤣😅😂 I think the red parts of the curb invalidate 🤣...
I like the F50 so much, such a balanced car...but I have no idea what they did to it, it oversteers like the V12 sits in the front, absolutely horrible and let's not even talk about the last sector.....we had some good combos but now.....someone mentioned a lemon...... 🤣
I did clock a time but this on is not going to be grinded 🤣

Surprisingly less profanities than I expected tonight (my wife asked me if I could please limit the yelling, but that had zero bearing on why I didn't ). Granted, I ran about 20 laps and had five valid ones. My final lap (which was also my optimum for the session, so there's that) was a 2:02.126. I proceeded to invalidate the next lap on Turn 2 and then crash, so that was good for the night!

The car itself and the track actually work pretty well together...but holy hell, someone at PD needs a good kick in the dick for these track limits.

Surprisingly, this car and track don't feel the worst .. but still, to the guy who designed Yas Marina: I hope you have a blessed life.

I played this first session in VR, and the Ferrari looks beautiful. I think the trickiest corners are the two before the long straights, especially the chicane one.

A low 2.11 is very possible for me, but I don't think I have much patience for this track. The goal is to push for sub 1% and call it a day.

Happy lapping everyone!

The real problem is that they build tracks in this dumb way irl. Yas Marina, Paul Ricard, Red Bull Ring, etc. There is tarmac everywhere and then they have to ask the drivers to please drive in between the lines. Obviously that also doesn't work very well in videogames.

You need some grass between the track and the tarmac run-off area like you have in Suzuka, Silverstone, Shanghai, etc. There are no track limit issues at these tracks. The solution isn't exactly rocket science yet some tracks refuse to fix it.

Am I the only one who really likes the F50 and Yas Marina combo? The track limits take a while to get used to (especially after Lago Maggiore which is the complete opposite for track limits...) but once you have that down the lap is challenging without feeling unfair on a pad. Turn 9 is really testing my temptation to get back on the throttle though. It feels like you have to wait about a month to get back on it if you don't want to run wide.

Anyway, after about 11 laps I'm down to a 2:05.7XX IIRC. Bizarrely, for a while, my quickest silver lap was one that contained a huge short shift on the back straight.

I kind of really like this combo too…
Sure the track limits and the wall invalidation mean you can’t cut the corners has much has we could but it a nice challenge.
Anyway here are some pics from the TT

For me personally it's more the handling of the F50 than the track itself, but i still think that this is a F1 track and it works way better with ridiculous high downforced cars, the tracklimits can be learned ofcouse, i think they are way to sharp in this case what realy kills the flow of the combo with this kind of car setup and most of the track feels akward except for the left hander after the second backstraight.... the chicane that leads to that is pure terror

I'll give it another go over the weekend maby, but i doubt i'm going to change my mind on this one

Morning folks,

As expected I had another and more honest look at the new TT in a descent morning session...

so... my verdict...

Yas Marina ... bad track design 🤣
It just has realy weird camber and off camber corners in all the wrong places and there is truely nothing I realy like about it despite the lights at night 🤣

Then the car....F50 such an icon, and after the legendary F40 not realy loved by a lot of people, but it's such a monster.
Though it not realy shines in this combo, it's like driving on ice and has way to much understeer if you ask me, I never drove it ofcourse but I can't imagine that a stock F50 handels like this on this track?

so still a terrible experience, and this session didn't change my opinion despite I found 4 tenths, it does sound awesom though

I tried CSA on the controller, hard to say if it did help
