Not sure it will stick. Not an easy one to gold.
I included my wheel settings in the video, and in particular the 'Controller vibration function' setting (maxed). This is a huge one for this car, as it seems to stabilise the car through the first chicane, it creates a very rigid feeling in the wheel that seems to naturally limit harsh steering inputs that will unsettle the cars natural frequency, or body roll. What are you doing to balance the car? I don't understand how you're so aggressive but don't seem to get weight transfer through the two chicanes, its wild.
Is the exploit any more involved than turning ASM on?Looks like I'll need to return to the TT as 3 Japanese drivers have found an ASM exploit, plus not touching grass exiting turn 2 keeps tires clean for the hairpin, something I didn't do.
Will try next week sometime, peace out!
Found another half a tenth today, down to a 2:31.753, but definitely more time in it, optimum down to a .575. Anything obvious (besides the sliding in Eau Rouge)?
All good tips - I will try and remember all these tomorrow when I go back at it for one last night. Gotta get up early tomorrow for the all-day car show at work, so I definitely cannot be time-trialing right before bed, as I'll certainly not fall asleep.I can offer my scientific analysis 🧐😂
I think you can accelerate a tiny bit earlier out of La Source - aim for a .1xx or .0xx sector 1. You’re going to feel the oversteer when accelerating early but try to use it to whip you around the hairpin more quickly. May want to check your line on the data logger to ensure you’re getting as close as possible to the inside wall. Les Combes - you’re lifting too much, aim for a flat out or very slight lift there. Turn in was too early. At Speakers Corner, see if you can get closer to the apex, you have another foot or foot and a half of room from what I can see. At Pouhon, it’s not bad, but check if you’re turning in too early. Go deep into the straight and then chuck it in left, the correct line is on or slightly to the inside of the tire marking there - there’s a lot of grip there. Hard to tell on my phone screen but might be able to find time there. Overall try to use a little bit more track all around - data logger I think will reveal that you’re a couple mph off the optimum apex speed in several turns and that adds up over the lap to a good five or six tenths.
I apologize for any typos as I’m banging this out on my phone while waiting for kiddos to finish sports practice 😂💪
One more thing! Make sure you’re doing a wide run up in the chicane leading to the start line on your fast lap… it does save time!
Sure thing!! The line that is taken thru Les Combes needs to set up for T7 “Malmedy” - Malmedy is the turn where you’re lifting off too much ☺️ I apologize as I need to learn my turn names better 👍 posting a helpful reference for the turn names here (more for myself as I don’t yet know the turn names by heart) ☺️All good tips - I will try and remember all these tomorrow when I go back at it for one last night. For turn one, I usually find that if I try to get on the throttle earlier, it ends up trying to understeer off the track instead of giving me slight oversteer, helping me around the corner.
Les Combes, I assume you're talking about the RH turn? Seems entirely dependent on the lap on whether or not I can carry speed and stay on the track, or if it'll invalidate my lap, similar with the exit of Speakers...and obviously both have those poorly-placed bollards on the inside that just scare me from getting too close, lest they invalidate my lap.
Pouhon I did seem to be where I need to be - on or inside of the racing line...but I was finding it very hard to surpass my performance in subsequent laps there. Most of the time, it just doesn't turn in enough and I end up wayyy too wide.
