Not sure it will stick. Not an easy one to gold.

What are you doing to balance the car? I don't understand how you're so aggressive but don't seem to get weight transfer through the two chicanes, its wild.
I included my wheel settings in the video, and in particular the 'Controller vibration function' setting (maxed). This is a huge one for this car, as it seems to stabilise the car through the first chicane, it creates a very rigid feeling in the wheel that seems to naturally limit harsh steering inputs that will unsettle the cars natural frequency, or body roll.

Went back...to...Spa...but in a different TT? 🤔

Totally forgot where all the brake markers were with the McLaren, but eventually got back into it and got down into the 31's, with a 2:31.811 (optimum not much lower of a .740).

There's more time in it, just not more time tonight for it.

Looks like I'll need to return to the TT as 3 Japanese drivers have found an ASM exploit, plus not touching grass exiting turn 2 keeps tires clean for the hairpin, something I didn't do.

Will try next week sometime, peace out!
Is the exploit any more involved than turning ASM on?

I was surprised how easy I got gold in both last TT, and with a good margin. So I`m happy that I`ve been improving little by little without enough time to training (playing only some hours by weekends).

The Spa with McLaren is a pleasure to drive. The is one of the easiest car to drive and fits with the track. I lost about 0,2 s in my best lap in 2nd sector because early throttle in Stavelot, but happy with a 1,45% from top.

The FTO in Kiyoto is very fun and very trick in corner exists because the understeer, but the secret is keep confident in high speed curves as the car is very stable even you attack the kerbs.

My attempt at the AMG VC TT ended up in a 2’16.440 in the end. For a track I’m pretty average at and a category (Gr.3) where I’m also kinda meh and others love it and only play that I can’t be too bummed out about that time, it’s pretty much what I could achieve, maybe about a tenth left to catch. 0,74% and 257th with all the Gr3. hardcore dudes going all in, that’s alright.

Managed to mess up and not save the replay for the first time so no proper 4K replay this time, just a capture recent gameplay vid, which includes me grabbing a replay thumbnail and then proceeding to fail to save it. :irked::lol:

Enjoyed myself a lot more in a sidequest TT at daily A in the Firebird at Big Willow. Never passing up an opportunity to run laps around Willow Springs. Bagged a top 10 in the end.

Only took four laps but as soon as I crossed the line, I thought "There it is".

Taking my 2 million credits and now getting ready to do the same with the Mclaren GR.4 (Once I am finished with my YouTube content)

Found another half a tenth today, down to a 2:31.753, but definitely more time in it, optimum down to a .575. Anything obvious (besides the sliding in Eau Rouge)?

I can offer my scientific analysis 🧐😂

I think you can accelerate a tiny bit earlier out of La Source - aim for a .1xx or .0xx sector 1. You’re going to feel the oversteer when accelerating early but try to use it to whip you around the hairpin more quickly. May want to check your line on the data logger to ensure you’re getting as close as possible to the inside wall. Les Combes - you’re lifting too much, aim for a flat out or very slight lift there. Turn in was too early. At Speakers Corner, see if you can get closer to the apex, you have another foot or foot and a half of room from what I can see. At Pouhon, it’s not bad, but check if you’re turning in too early. Go deep into the straight and then chuck it in left, the correct line is on or slightly to the inside of the tire marking there - there’s a lot of grip there. Hard to tell on my phone screen but might be able to find time there. Overall try to use a little bit more track all around - data logger I think will reveal that you’re a couple mph off the optimum apex speed in several turns and that adds up over the lap to a good five or six tenths.

I apologize for any typos as I’m banging this out on my phone while waiting for kiddos to finish sports practice 😂💪

One more thing! Make sure you’re doing a wide run up in the chicane leading to the start line on your fast lap… it does save time!

All good tips - I will try and remember all these tomorrow when I go back at it for one last night. Gotta get up early tomorrow for the all-day car show at work, so I definitely cannot be time-trialing right before bed, as I'll certainly not fall asleep.

For turn one, I usually find that if I try to get on the throttle earlier, it ends up trying to understeer off the track instead of giving me slight oversteer, helping me around the corner.

Les Combes, I assume you're talking about the RH turn? Seems entirely dependent on the lap on whether or not I can carry speed and stay on the track, or if it'll invalidate my lap, similar with the exit of Speakers...and obviously both have those poorly-placed bollards on the inside that just scare me from getting too close, lest they invalidate my lap.

Pouhon I did seem to be where I need to be - on or inside of the racing line...but I was finding it very hard to surpass my performance in subsequent laps there. Most of the time, it just doesn't turn in enough and I end up wayyy too wide.

Sure thing!! The line that is taken thru Les Combes needs to set up for T7 “Malmedy” - Malmedy is the turn where you’re lifting off too much ☺️ I apologize as I need to learn my turn names better 👍 posting a helpful reference for the turn names here (more for myself as I don’t yet know the turn names by heart) ☺️

Overall your lap is solid! Good composure, just need to use a little more track, and get a little closer to the limit of the car and you’ll improve! I’m sure of it.

And well… time trialing at night is the best time! That’s what coffee and cold shower is for in the morning ☕️🤣

And those bollards… I agree with you! I try to visualize my car wrapping around the bollard as I push thru the apex, that seems to help me get more rotation.

Been struggling with the FTO or the track actually. I haven't been able to hit S1 fast enough, and then the chicane with the exit speed I need to hit the 57s. Getting closer though. The OPT from my best sectors over a few sessions get me there though. Forgot to screenshot the home screen, so here are the sector times.

Excruciating TT! Haven’t driven a Gr.4 in ages, forgot just how slow and safe they are. Midday with sun/overcast also, on a track with actual 24-hour clock in the game. This TT belongs somewhere in the very bottom in my ranking. The interior design equivalent of white wallpaper and musical equivalent of Taylor Swift. :ouch:

I got up an hour early today for the (huge) employee car show at work today, so I was outside on a gorgeous, mid-70s, sunny day (but still, in the sun) for ~6 hours (getting lots of steps in!), and then proceeded to have another car meet from about 6-9PM today, so it was a very, very long day (though got plenty of top-down time to enjoy in the Camaro).

But still: needed to have one more go of Spa before it ends tonight.

First lap out of the gate and I was only like...3 hundreths behind my best from the other night, then got myself down to a 2:31.619 on lap 5...

...and then allll the way down to Lap 22 (with a whole lot of red ones in between), I found myself a 2:31.538.

Optimum of a .362, but that earlier fastest lap had an absolutely killer S2 I couldn't quite match. S1 was fastest on my last lap - a 44.157, and S3 was only 4 thousandths off my best, at a 39.744, so my 1:07.633 vs a .461 was where I lost some time, but hey, at least I got something faster after all those obnoxious invalid laps!

Thanks @bigfluffy888 , those tips in the back of my mind definitely helped, especially getting on it quicker in S1!
