Hi all, there's a lot of threads with people complaining every day and hour about the game physics, difficulty, grinding, etc... and it's all about negativity, critisisim, I think it's time to discuss the things we love in this game, the moments of magic that only occur in GT7

Let's talk about that and stop negativity !

Well for one, I like the weather and the fact it's random. They just have to work a bit on the transitions, sometimes they're literally instantaneous. But the fact you never know how the weather will play out is only a plus for me. People complain about too much weather aspect and weather not being defined before starting a race, but...I don't see a huge issue. It will only become an issue if it's for example the 1 lap Porsche cup race at Nordschleife and the rain would require intermediates, but it never does.

If you're that bothered by the negativity, I would suggest using the ignore feature. ......seriously. I'm not being flippant. I use it extensively on this site and it's made a world of difference in sifting through threads / responses to get to the content I'm interested in.

Having said that, even with it's flaws I still enjoy GT7 a lot. I play nearly every evening at least long enough to earn my daily roulette ticket.

I like that the tuning feature has returned, I like the weather, I like the time of day feature (especially on longer races) and the haptic feedback on the PS5 DualSense has been game changer for me. It really helps provide a connection to the car that simply wasn't there on my PS4 with previous iterations of GT. Ive really grown to understand the feedback and adjust throttle / braking to adapt to what the controller is telling me (e.g. the start of traction loss, brakes locking up, etc.).

I like having the tune shop. It gives me the feeling I am virtually building cars again and most my cars just get the modest mods I would do in real life. It also has my favorite Enkei wheels. The cars that are available look nice. Im not sure they justify the time it takes to model vs quantity available but no qualms about the detail.

The fact that I can drive silly cars and win!
Also (given its limitations), car customization is good enough that it's quite simple to build a nice-looking race prepped car.
And the rain sound effects in this game are incredible, you can actually feel the impact the rain and strong winds have on your car and it's amazing

The weather system and lighting are the highlights of this game for me. And I'm still on PS4 Pro. (PS5 arriving today!) And the physics are great for most cars. A lot of the oversteer issue can be tuned out so it hasn't really bothered me. Looking forward to seeing what cars and tracks we get over the next several months.

Other than TC1 being a bit intrusive, the race cars are not bad to drive compared to the road cars.

I was not a fan of the higher class racecars in GT Sport (including GT3) but in GT7 I actually quite enjoy driving most of them.

I just got around to driving my 787b.. after the first 5 laps of LeMans I already had a satisfied smile and a good feeling.. and then used the inside camera for the first time.. that was a great feeling.. Finally I fell one that many here are impressed by the "Woble" ... so I tested it ... my ears would have grinned in circles.

I'm most impressed by the weather system. When it's wet, you really have to think about the lines to take, especially using the karting lines around the outside. You can really feel the tyres sliding and losing grip and braking if you stay on the normal line, sensational.

I'm pretty satisfied with the car customizations, though I've always preferred OEM+ to full on bodykits.

I'm weird, and have a penchant for front lips/splitters on cars, and PD nailed the ones in GT Auto. Not overdone, no additional winglets, no support wires. Just simple additions to the bumper that make the car just a little more aggressive, and even gives you downforce adjustments.

I also like that they added some smaller rear spoilers for some of the JDM models. I love the look of the Celica GT4 with the base GT wing.

The number of wheel options are also nice, and the ability to add a bit of offset and tire stretch is a welcome touch.

Finally, they really nailed some of the sounds, most notably, the VR6 in the Audi TT 3.2. I've never heard a game get the wookie growl just right, but PD did.

I love Custom Races with opponents' cars chosen from my own garage. If I'm really into it, I'll rename the drivers and change their countries of origin. Grid starts are an option!

With all the choices open to me, I love the driving experience and the visuals.

Of course, I save the replays so I can catch Race Photos of multiple owned cars any time in the future.

None of my cars have those silly plates with the name of the car on them. Yay!!

Do I wish that Custom Races could be saved and shared like liveries/styles? Of course.

Do I wish the financial rewards were commensurate with the length of the race and strength of the opposition? Of course. However, given the generally low rewards in GT7, I've lowered my sights to achievable goals and am focusing on having a fun driving experience. All's good.

The game scores 80/100 for me. I like it just for being a new GT title and having some cool new features. Still, we need some more content and there are a number of annoying issues I hope will be fixed sooner rather than later.

Honestly, the only real issue I have with the game is the lack of content. Everything else I either disagree with or don't get at all like someone going on about a "fundamental disconnect" in one of these other threads.

'Cause otherwise, the driving is great, the graphics are awesome, and while the non-chili pepper AI could be a bit better, it's enough for someone of my skill. Seriously, I couldn't even finish above last place in the chili-marked GT Cup Gr.3 race on Maggiore. =/

That's positive ! I love the tuning mechanics as well and how small changes impact directly your car
I also really like the physics and Fab, they are not perfect but they are informative and make driving challenging and rewarding
I like as well how the game as improved over GT Sport and the more sim oriented approach

And yes with more content it will be even better, let it aged as some famous French wines ;-)
PS : why Kaz always name the drivers in the demo merlot, sauvignon etc... it make sense

I've fallen in love with all the French cars specifically for some reason. Every Alpine and Renault has been a dream to drive!
You got taste :-P My favorite is the Clio V6, small MR car, lightly tune it's awesome

oh yes I'm UBER impress by this cockpit view, apart DIRT this is the first time where I enjoy this view (and it's playable without affecting your driving), and I'm even more impress by the fact this a view from GT7

Now I want to try this, pretty impress by the sound and how detailed they are

I'm a huge supporter of this game mode since GT6, glad they have bring it back and push the concept to the ultimate personalization

All my life all I wanted to do was race. Racing is life, the rest is just waiting. It was never gonna happen in the real world. Then some dude invents GT. Over the years it has got better and tougher. GT7 is the best so far for me. You only get better by playing a tougher opponent. The AI driving is annoying but I ride a bike so I am used to stupid car drivers. The graphics and sound quality are awsome, there is a good variety of cars and races. The widebody animation is brilliant. GT7 is not perfect but I still love it.

I‘m absolutely in love with GT7.
Honestly I LIVE and BREATHE this Game.
I appreciate the Philosophy, Kaz and his Team have brought to us with their interpretation of what it could feel like driving Various Kinds of Cars.
Collecting Cars, driving them, tuning them, personalizing them.
Each one with an unique Character.
No Car feels the same.
I always play in Cockpit View and now that we have the Wobble Feature, it immerses me even more.
It’s just breathtaking how much detail is felt.
Especially because of the Cockpit View, I really feel a connection to each and every Car.
The unique Interior designs are just so incredibly detailed it’s a pure pleasure to appreciate the Cars.
The Sounds are a huge improvement too.
So much diversity and class, just wow.
Especially the VGT Cars are a class of its own.
Since I was a little Kid and my Father brought me some Concept Car Calendars, I absolutely fell in love with these Futuristic Art/Concept Designs.
Big bummer though that no Cockpit Views are available with these Cars 🥲
But that’s just a little downfall.
Everything else about this Game got me hooked so hard that I can’t imagine not playing it anymore.
There’s so much to do in this Game.
So many Car/Track/Time of Day/Weather/Opponent/Customization/Tuning etc.etc.options…wow.
What a great Game and what an incredible experience to have the Chance to enjoy all of this on an adequate Setup with Proper Wheel/Rig, TV/Sound Setup 😃
Enjoy life, enjoy yourself and enjoy GT7.
What a great time.
Thank you Life 😁

The weather makes single player races unpredictable and a lot more fun.

Cockpit camera wobble 2 is so immersive.

Sport mode despite of some questionable penalties handed out sometimes is by far the best racing online experience I have had on playstation.

All in all its another GT game which I will play to death.

The economy was a low point when they reduced the payouts but since they have fixed that this game is an update to the AI away from being a masterpiece.

  • UCD/LCD content may be "exclusive content for a limited time," but I like the fact that I can purchase as many as I want as long as I have sufficient money.
I am a style player who prefers to own multiple favorite models and enjoy them in different tunes and livery.
And while I have played both Forza and GT for many years, but Forza has become more and more difficult to have such fun with each year of exclusive content.
GT's current style is not perfect either, but still, there is nothing better than being able to own 10 or 100 cars in my garage that I like.

  • Driving FWD.
I think GT is the most fun game to drive FWD, especially using a tuned car with PP500-600 on a narrow circuit like Tokyo Expressway.

  • JDM Lineup.
Today's racing games are geared toward global sales, and nearly all Japanese racing game developers have either gone bankrupt or stopped making racing games for consoles.
As a result, many current racing game car lists were similar, especially JDM, which was so boring it was as if the list was shared by all developers. (There were exceptions, of course, such as Forza)

But PD is a Japanese developer. They are of course not unmindful of sales in foreign markets, but still, JDM's lineup in GT is clearly different from other games.
Non-sport style mass-market cars like the Prius and Crown, and kei cars like the Copen and Beat, these cars would be hard to find in any other console racing game today.
They are the last hope for those who once loved Japanese console racing games.

  • Visual customization.
One thing I disliked in GT was the difficulty in giving my car a personality.
Not that I am totally dissatisfied with the current content, but still, the wide body conversions and the various body kits available for almost all road cars were unthinkable in the past GTs and made owning and customizing a variety of cars fun.

At least you can recreate some sega rally in it

2 occasions recently that gave me a warm fuzzy feeling…
Winning the lake maggiore 1hr endurance race after missing out 2 times. When you get that race that is just the right challenge/reward factor.

Driving the P330 in cockpit view around Monza with all display options turned off. Oh and earphones make a huge difference over what I though was a decent 5.1 surround system.

Hi, amg gt3 2016. RM tyres Fuel management at 1. Pit at end of lap 10, new tyres, total refuel. Pit again at end of lap 20, new tyres and refuel for 10.2 laps. You will be 20ish secs behind leader but his tyres will die and you’ll catch him quickly.
No assists, TC slows you down. No tuning, BOP race. I did 1.57-2.00 laps with fastest in 56’s. Also one big spin but still caught first. Cut those ripple strips for faster lap times.
I think that’s everything:)

I'm in pretty much the same mood. I've skipped meals because I don't want to tear myself away from the game. I whine about certain aspects too, such as races I can't win, the rain which vexes me because of a car wreck in real life - and how instantly the weather can change!, and PP jumps in tuning some cars, among other things.

But now we have a Gran Turismo in which we can once again race tune any car, and either paint it a great livery or grab one from the Showcase, and make it our own. The car and track list is splendid, and will only get better over time.

Whiners will whine, haters hate, human nature at it's "finest." But Jordan was right. The King is back.
