A quickly completed, relatively simple selection this week.

Euro Sunday Cup 400: The most challenging to win/gold of the 5 events, took a few attempts
American FR Challenge 550: Straight forward win
Quattro Time Trial: Easy Gold at 1st attempt
HyperCar Parade: I’m not a fan of Yas Marina. Happy to win and move on.
WTC 800: Heavy rain from start, but 1 set of IM’s saw me through with no stops

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Yang Gang

A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges goes live this Friday, May 8, when your console clock ticks past midnight. Five events, seven days to clear them, and the usual stack of bonus tickets waiting for anyone who works through the list...

I was tempted to go with "Gang Yang", but thought better of it.

Fun week again. Sunday Cup is a breeze and at a nice time of day, just avoid getting held up in turn 6. Japanese FR Challenge was harder than I thought in a stock Mazda Roadster, even with a slow grid I struggled a bit. Clubman Cup was a lot of fun in a 620 PP Corvette C8, the AI is slow in the first half of the lap so it's easy to make up time and pass cars there. One-make was better than I expected as the car is quick enough to not be boring at Le Mans. There was some wang on wang contact with the AI braking very early in a few places, I figured picking the right kind of rubber would be important but SH was more than enough to finish before everyone else. WTC 900 I've already won before in the '16 GT500 NSX so I tried the LF-LC VGT on RM given it's basically a hybrid Super GT car. Not too difficult given the AI will make some weird strategy calls, was running 1:22-1:23 laps to win by about 10 seconds. There's some cars in WTC 900 races that are usually tuned and much faster in a straight line whereas here they seem to be stock so they get in the way a lot, one AI car might try to not pit and the Lexus on RS will often stay out too long on worn tyres.

Cars for this week (there's no Brazil scapes sadly):
full

Today's to-do-list is reaching down to the earth core but my cars are already set to go, looking forward to racing ... at some distant point in time :

Toyota Sports 800 at 350 PP
Honda S 800 swap at 450 PP
Jeep Willys MB swap at 635 PP
Yangwang U9 at 690 PP
Audi RS 5 at 885 PP

Edited for PP correctness

Quirky challenge for a quirky car. Sunday Cup Classic at Laguna in a stock Twingo using only 3rd gear.

Reminds me of my dad's old Austin Maxi. Except in reverse. It had 5 gears but the only one you couldn't use was 3rd
Occasionally, he would go there accidentally and the clutch would scream...
As a young-un I could never understand how, despite this, it still passed its MOT every year...

All done!

Had to rummage through the garage to find a random classic European car.

Hachiroku for the Japanese FR event. Started my "No ABS" practice.

Ford GT did its thing in The Glen.

Oh, driven by a certain someone...

Stopping the heavy Yangwang U9 without ABS is pure hilarity.

Improved my previous run by just moving 2 clicks to the rear in the brake balance, resulting in a very smooth braking experience, much less lock ups without ABS.

Thanks for the 500k, PD!

Enjoyable Week! Nothing too taxing. After choosing my first challenger, I decided to make it a 'Golden Oldie' selection...

Sunday Cup Classic: 1952 Abarth 1500 - Comfort Soft Tyres and racing aspiration were the only upgrades. Handled beautifully through the Corkscrew.
Japanese FR Challenge 450: 1971 Nissan 240Z - Comfort Soft tyres, fully race spec'd except no weight reductions. Fun race in a great car.
American Clubman Cup 700: 1966 Ford GT - Race Hard Tyres, '67 Le Mans(ish) build. This thing is a beast! Destroyed the field!
YangWang Special: SS Tyres, WR 1,2 & 3 (so it doesn't weigh as much as a Rhino) Race brakes. Uneventful race, but better than many other EV's.
WTC 900: 1970 Chaparral 2J - Racing Medium Tyres, Custom Race 5sp Gearbox. FM 6 all the way, 1 stop at end of Lap 7. Fun race, enjoyed using something different, that I've never raced with before.

My ‘Pic of the Week’ goes to the Abarth at Leguna Seca

At least is not called "Yang-bang"

The 900 is quite easy on a lmp1 car, so it might go first.
Besides, I prefer the U9 to the SU7, that car is almost undrivable. Which leads me to think on other electric hypersedans like the Lucid Sapphire, that thing must be useless beyond the start

This week’s theme was V8 Thunder

Sunday Cup Classic: Mustang Mach 1 ‘71, stock with fixed ratios, a bit OP but a good drive.
Japanese FR Challenge: LC500, this car is a favorite of mine. Another OP run.
American Clubman 700: GT40 MkI, RHs and some engine tuning. Very OP, was expecting a little more challenge at 641pp. I might go back with my 600pp Cobra or stock GT40 and try again.
Yangwang One-Make: I was pleasantly surprised with this race. Very manageable pace to win and by far the best driving EV in the game.
WTC900: F3500-B, RHs and detuned to 900pp. I dislike Interlagos, so just wanted it over with. Stopped for fuel on Lap 8 and got the lead and lost the CRB in lapped traffic.

Now onto the Power Pack before I go on vacation for the week.

European Sunday Cup Classic: Alfa Romeo Giulia. Easy (As long as you avoid the Sausage Curbs)
Japanese FR Challenge 450: Mazda efini RX-7. Another easy run, but the first in my road going GT-C build.
American Clubman Cup 700: Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE. GT4 build returns to do its usual thang (That and I'm just manifesting a SVG win this weekend)
World Touring Car 900: Audi RS5 DTM. Began on Mediums and shortshifted (Even with DRS). Came out on softs and thanks to traffic, destroyed the leaders
Special Event: Tricky but that practice absolutely helped. For those Le Mans chicanes on the main straight, braking at the 200 Markers worked for me.

Wanted to try one of the old GT500 cars. Not sure if @RCKakashi14 could do it stock but I needed the high RPM turbo and the adjustable racing transmission to make it work. (Could have probably made the transmission a bit longer to not go deep into red in 6th gear. I had to short shift a bit now to make it 6 laps.

It was close but also quite fun to drive.

Pretty fun week. Sunday Cup was in (again) the Jeje tuned 400pp Captur. This time it was an easy win for it.
Next up for the Japanese FR, I first tried it in a mildly tuned '22 Miata which had mostly handling mods. I thought I had this race in hand but 1st place was just keeping distance from me. This is the first time I've seen drifter in the gold Silvia out of the Silvia Sisters races. So I ended up retrying in a car I haven't driven (S2K) just to get it over with
Watkins Glen was in my 655pp Focus RS on SS. Easy win.
The U9 race was pretty fun. I used a tune by Exeter and that got me a 9 second win. I don't drive much EV's but this car seems to be the best I've driven.
First time for the WTC800 (saved it from the last update until it appeared in the weekly) so I took one of my DTM Audis. Fun race. Went with RH and only pitted for fuel at the end of 8. Then those last few laps were a battle for 1st between me, Ordonez in the LC, and Sternberg in the Nissan. Lap 11 I overtook Ordonez for 1st and we came up to a backmarker. Was able to put that backmarker between me and the two. Held on for a 4 second lead at the line.
