Of course GTA: 3, and VC had cheat codes...did any of you use cheat codes to get farther in the game?

Do you think GTA: SA will have cheat codes right away, and if so do any of you plan to use them?

Games always have cheat codes right away. It's whether they decide to release them or not, which most do straight away.

I'm not using them for San Andreas. I'm not even going to look at them, find them or learn them.

While we're on this topic, I request that no cheat codes be posted in any threads, other than Cheat specific threads. Thanks.

Same here, I don't want to see cheat codes. I may use them once I have 100% completed the game.

Well, i do plan to play the game str8 up, but who knows...u know they've made it so easy to just check the cheat code when u get to those points u just can pass. Feel me?
<><

Yeah it can be tempting, but it can spoil the game if every mission becomes easy.

Yeah. I used cheat codes for Vice City and GTA 3. I feel I will enjoy San Andreas so much without them. I still loved the other GTAs, I mean I never stop playing them really, but I would think it would be very enjoyable. I only used health cheat and cop cheat in Vice City though. I'm just not going to learn them for San Andreas.

I'm not going to use cheat codes. I believe both Vice City and GTA3 had bugs where if you used cheats, 100% might become impossible to attain, even if you completed the 100% checklist. And besides, I want to play the game the way it was meant to be played.

Sometimes, I may use cheats to cause mayhem. Anyways, Cheatmastes suck at cheatcodes. $2.00 a minute for cheatcodes. And the operator. Says them slow.
Must be company policy. And quick scheme to get cash. 👎

I never saved a game that I used cheat codes on in VC. I probably only put in a code 5 to 10 times since I got VC. The cheat codes are sometimes fun, but I never use them to advance myself in a game. I'll use this same policy for SA and any other game.

Im going to have a file that has no cheats, and then right down the bottom of the list I will have a file with the cheats on, just to have a play around. The game guide might have cheats in it and if it does, I will post them in here if anyone wants them, but here and no where else.

Actually, a few sites already have cheat cokdes available for GTA San Andreas, but theres no way to prove if they're legit. On another note, my VC file with codes on is glitched, they is basically no traffic, and large vehicles like busses have disappeared.

I personally like the cheat codes when just fooling around!. But from previous experience ive never used them when completing the storyline or in getting 100%,and don't intend to when i do the later in SA, ive just used them for fun.
But i do have a couple of vc games that have cheats saved in them.

That is true, but only with certain cheats. Cheats such as Health, Armour, Weapons, etc, don't affect the save game. The cheats that do are Vehicle Cheat, Costume Cheat, Improved Handling, and a few others. Best way to avoid it, is not to use cheats!

And I'm not going to have a separate save game, or learn them after I complete it 100%. I didn't really "have fun" with them in GTA 3 or Vice City, so I don't see the point of me learning them.

Well, now with the news of how the entire game is going to be 'locked' has greatly changed my planned use of cheats. I'll be trying to get a no police cheat ASAP so I can explore the countryside to my heart's content without having SWAT teams pursuing me! Of course, I wouldn't save after exploring using the no police cheat, I don't want to risk another 100% bug making me rip my hair out of my scalp come mid-late November.

Actually, some games have no cheats available. I was looking for cheat codes recently for Resident Evil on PSX and Resident Evil: Code Veronica on PS2 and couldn't find any. Couldn't find any codes anywhere. I googled high and low but to no avail. All that's listed is bonuses you get for completing the game like extra weapons or other boring nonsense.

I got bored with both games ages ago and was recently looking for a cheat that would give me infinite ammo or a super weapon or something similar. I just wanted to finish off both games to see how they ended.

Well, yeah. But I meant for games that have cheat codes.

i hardly ever cheat and when i do im already 100% finished the game anyway, i see no point and depise of cheating.

Yeah. I half-cheated the first time through GTA 3, and I used the Health and Cop Cheat the first time through Vice City. After that, I vowed not to use them. I've done GTA 3 twice without cheats (only once with cheats), and a million times without cheat through Vice City. I was young and stupid. I'm not going to learn any cheats for San Andreas. I'm not even going to look for what sort of cheats there are. I will probably come across some, but I'm not going to learn the codes for them.

I don't personally find them "fun" to mess around with anyway, so I see no point for me.

I don't think that'll work. I think that while you're still in that area you'll keep becoming wanted. So I think the only way to explore without the cops chasing you is to get up to that part in the storyline.

Also I don't care if cheats are posted anywhere. I'll never use them, but it's not like I'll read them if someone posts them, and it's not like I'll remember them from seeing the once on the screen.

@Jimmy It's not like you'll avoid any threads on this forum anyway

I think SA will be to much fun for cheating.
Precisely. Cheating won't add anything to the game for me.

It won't. It's been confirmed that there is no way to lose the Wanted Level. Cheats, Pay 'n' Spray, nothing. I'm going to try a Chopper. Hopefully that will work. But they will probably shoot it down.

I suppose. Good point. I'll just look in the threads, but as soon as I see an actual Code, I just won't read it. Simple.

I think Jimmy means:

If a game is made with cheat codes, then the cheat codes are available (via internet, strategy guide, or any other source) at the same time that the game is released. He is saying that this is true in most (if not all) cases. Right Jimmy?

I noticed that, was going to point it out but I didn't bother. Jimmy, you said that I posted that but I didn't, 'twas R32GTST\M.
