Well, I will eventually make a GTP San Andreas Community, as I did with the Vice City Community. I just wanted to ask a few questions, and get some feedback from all who are willing to be involved.

Do you want me to make this like the Vice City Community, as in make it so that it's all about running a gang and handing out jobs? Or would you rather make it all about posting your details, updating some things about your own storyline, and maybe some people giving out a few jobs here and there. With the latter way, I could make the Balance section correspond with your actual money in your save game...?

Or would you rather me not make it at all?

Please give me some feedback.

I'd suggest not hurring and making one right off the bat, as people will be busy playing the game and getting used to the city. You made the Vice City community after pretty much everyone had played the game through 4 million times and it was a way to keep the game alive. At first I'd just make it like you said "make it all about posting your details, updating some things about your own storyline, and maybe some people giving out a few jobs here and there"- Jimmy Enslashy. That way it'll give people time to actually beat the game. I myself would like complete the game 100% before anything else.

That was the main intention of the Vice City Community. It was a way to pass some time before San Andreas, and to get some people posting a bit more in threads like the Vice City Record Book and Vice City Quiz Thread.

The 2nd way seems to be the way to go. I don't overly intend the San Andreas Community to be a post-a-day thread; it's just a way to have some fun with the game and tell everyone who you are when you play San Andreas.

BTW: completely offtopic but does anyone know a person with the email address: nick_e_morgan@...........? because he says he is from GTP and was banned so now he won't go away and just swears and rants about useless junk and saying that no one on GTP likes me and all I post is bull****. So if anyone could inform me on who this is it would be great.

Well he is a guy that jokes around a lot. He's just doing it on purpose, just to get you started.

By the way, he got your email address because you added me on MSN, and I didn't know who it was. I asked a couple of people, and you must have talked to him then, as he was going to see who it was. I didn't know it was you at the time, sorry about that. Block and delete him unless you actually talk to him normally.

Jimmy, can you explain what exactly it is you're planning to do with the SA community?

Well, first it's not going to be how I set out the Vice City Community. It's not going to be all about criminals and jobs...heck you can even be a Cop.

Basically, you post your details, but you can't have the same house as someone else (unless you have their consent to live with them or something). You post things like your job, etc. Just follow my lead with the details (although my actual history/story is long, but you don't have to make it that long). You may update your money situation (whatever money you have in the game, it doesn't accumulate automatically like in the VC Community), you can update your details, make your own gang, join gangs or just post general stuff about anything that has happened in your storyline (not the official storyline, your own storyline). Of course, you may also request jobs (for some fun), or just post any jobs you may have done, in your own time, that you wish to entertain us with.

It's basically a big giant storyline where you can do anything you want, providing it doesn't clash with anyone else. You just entertain us with your own storyline and update us with new information from your world. You may also use other people's information to use in your own storyline in your own time, to interact with them, etc.

Just thought id use this thread thats already been created to ask another question. Bascically when SA gets released im thinking of starting the inevitable, "Official GTA:SA thread". What i want to do is set it up into different sections. i.e The official GTA cars thread, The official GTA planes thread and gangs and locations secrets and so on.
What im asking is does this sound like a good idea?. And will it work as a rescource tool aswell as a discusion forum?. What i want is for it to be easy for people, members, non members and people who don't start playing ther game for a while, to be able to find the info they want easily.
Hope what im asking is'nt to complicated.

First problem is that if you were to do that Planes would come under the same thing as cars. It's a vehicle just like a car and it would make it alot easier. Also, presonally I don't think this sounds like a good idea, maybe if you provided a more in-depth preview of what you're thinking of doing I might change my mind, but from what you've just posted I don't like the sounds of the idea.

I don't think that in particular is a great idea, but the general concept is good. You could expand on this. Here's some suggestions:

Still call it "The Official GTA:SA Thread", but make the thread about discussion, questions and help on San Andreas, not just information. So basically, make it a thread to discuss anything game-related, ask any questions or get any help. The only thing I don't like about this is that you may want it stickied, and there's going to be 4 stickies in total soon. I think that's enough stickies. So don't request this to be stickied, it will be active enough anyway.

But don't start it until people start playing the game, or it will become another "New Details About GTA:SA!" thread.

You need to organize it fairly well but instead of you trying to list everything, it might be a better idea to use the first post just as a source to other sources-- you can link it back to your posts or to other peoples posts if you want but I'd make it-- first organized very well (formatting wise)-- remember you can link to individual posts and use this as like a table of contents.

Realize also that there is going to be alot of false info, misconceptions and straight out false stories out there-- it might be best to wait a few months for this.

I honestly think you are biting off too much, doing a recordbook and this-- trust me, the record book will eat up alot of your time for a while.

Exactly. I'll be doing this for the Record book, so if you want to see a layout of this, wait for the Record Book.

Just make it a discussion, help and questions thread. Even if people come into the thread new, it's okay if they re-ask a question from a few pages back. This way is less complicated and more user-friendly.

I honestly don't think a thread like this needs too much organising. Like I said before: discussion, questions and assistance is all it needs to be about. Not many people are going to venture into the first page after all, and I don't think this will ever be a tidy thread. Just let the thread take its own course, I say, and if people post a question that has already been asked and answered before, it doesn't matter.

Just don't put too much effort into a thread like this, the New Details About GTA:SA thread could have been like this, but I think it has been fairly successful.

O.k here is how i think i might go about it.

The firt thread i want to create will Basically be a thread for us members who will be getting the game on release. I want to do a GTA:SA FIRST IMPRESIONS? Thread. Ill also mention that there is spoilers inside for anyone who has not got the game yet.
I will also link to this thread in the Official GTA:SA thread maybe a month or 2 later When i hope to get itup and running.
What I intend this to be used for is to post any views, comments, observations and general thoughts and expressions people may want to convey about the game.
Then as Blake mentioned I may create an Official GTA:SA Vehicles thread. This im hoping will be used for any comments people have on handling driving navigating or piloting techniques, modifying tips, Real-life comparisons and any other views people may have on San Andreas vehicles. This i believe will be the hardest to do well, due to the many vehicles and views about them that may be raised.
Then i think a locations thread and gang discussion thread may follow, these should be fairly easy to set up.
I think the major thing will be timming, not starting them up to soon, when people may not have experienced enough of the game to give proper imput for resourse purposes.
Any input or comments anyone has would be great. Also if anyone wants to help in setting up anything mentioned above or adding to any of these is more than welcome.

If you don't mind a little assitance I was wondering if I could do the vehicle thread? I think overall this is turning into a good concept. But I disagree with Jimmy in that people should be able to ask a question already asked, no doubt they will but I think it would be more appropriate to give them the answer and/or link them to the previous discussion on it and then inform them of the search button. This forum is equiped with that button for a reason.

No problem. It's become a thread for asking other GTP GTA Forum regulars their view on things. I like the idea, it will be good.

I recommend Blake doing a couple of these threads, as his GTA 3 Record Book will die for a while, and he won't have much to do. He is also very capable of running a thread or two. I would ask to run a thread, but I will be very busy with the San Andreas Record Book and other outside-of-GTP things. However, if you need assistance with anything, feel free to PM, Email or Instant Message me. I'm more than happy to help.

What i thought is when you do the vehicles thread is compile a list of the vehicles on the first page under each category. i.e
Cars
voodoo
hermes
patriot.
Boats
Speedser
etc
Planes
Seaplane
Dodo

Then we'd also have a place for vehicle discussion but also a vehicle list.
Thats what i was thinking about doing anyway.

Oh well all i have to do now is wait for the release, get into the game for a bit and then start the threads.
