Hmmmm, i'm in an invite session only and a special crate dropped...No T-Shirt in it though. no weapons either, just $1000 and a bit of RP

Requires 4 people in invite only or crew session.. I saw rockstar post it on a newswire reply.
Also several people reported the same thing as you... got a crate with no shirt.

The World Record RP race glitch is on.

Just get a world record each lap, and you'll gain a huge gain. My level 41 character is at 50 in no time
 
Finish first lap at 56

2nd lap at 55. WR alert, get considerable RP.

3rd lap at 54. WR alert, get RP again.

4th lap at 53... WR ALERT. YOU GET THE IDEA.

There's a wierd glitch that lets everyone get the world record award after you complete a lap of a R* or R* verified track. You can gain a ton of RP by doing it. Best way to get RP from it is to go very slow the first lap, then build up speed each lap so you know you will beat your previous time.

I should try that WR glitch actually, I'm pretty sure I haven't unlocked the achievement for it on my main, and it'd be nice to have.

I had the same experience. I read through the R* support section, to start with the Special crates are yellow and not green, and DO NOT currently contain any extras, ONLY small cash and RP.
Something to do with their hash data not being uploaded.
Also, at the moment NOT ALL Special crates will contain t-shirts.

Typical of a company to release something that hasn't been fully checked and tested. Many people would call this kind of approach Retarded.

Does the glitch work on any race or only a certain one?
 
Due to some recent events, I think I'm going to start employing a sticky-bomb on sight policy for all Zentorno drivers... Me and @Beeblebrox237 had some fun after a griefer in one made good use of the bullet proof back, and then got his friend to come along and help.

In other news, I've got one T-Shirt left to get from this weekend's event. It seems that if you collect 2 special crates in the same session, you'll get the same item both times, since I got the K-JAH one twice. Only the K-ROSE one remains for me to collect, and while I'd never put it on my character, the idiot in me likes shiny limited edition things.
 
Apparently R* have applied a hotfix for the drop rate of the special crates.

I can also confirm that you CAN get crates with the t-shirts with a single player in an Invite Only session.
My first dropped in just over half an hour of playing.
 
After freeing up some time, I hopped on GTA to see what I can get from a special crate. I was able to get a shirt with my favorite station's logo on it, K-DST, but I had to interfere @superstreet556 . I'm sorry bud - but when it comes to my K-DST, all friends are no friends for those moments.
