Is the PS3 version working yet? My friends on XBL are on GTA Online and having a blast, but I keep getting session time outs.

It's just luck really. The servers can only handle x number of connections at once, you need to get lucky and try to connect while there is a spare "slot".

I got in not long ago, but the time after when I tried it wouldn't let me on, very sporadic but it's getting better.

I was last on about an hour and a half ago and it was working fine on my PS3 then, I wish COD Ghosts was released earlier so a good portion of the players would leave and make some space.

I hit another little annoyance while trying to create a character - your name has an 11 character (including spaces) limit. :grumpy: I guess you're only meant to give them a first name.

Yup like I said, it reminds me of looking at the TDU2 map and all the properties in that game. Never expected this many properties for the GTA5 online mp. 👍

My only question is can we buy the Casino or interact with the Casino when we are a higher level? It also has a horse race track. Cant interact with it yet. Maybe higher level?

This makes me very happy, single player needs more safe houses/garages to store more vehicles, glad this won't be an issue with the online mode.

Facepalm. No it doesn't.
Actually, it does. In the little time I played GTA Online yesterday and made a character, could you care to explain to me why there isn't a save file for it yet I still have my character?

Seems like a quite arbitrary decision. Could have handled 15 characters np.

Makes Schwarzenegger unhappy.

Loving the phone now, being able to call friends who are in other sessions (that I was unable to join) was a very cool feature >:0)

I'm now able to connect to the online segment of the game, however whenever I start a mission, I end up waiting for about 10 minutes at the loading screen.
I don't care how R* dress up their issues regarding online, they knew this game was going to sell loads, meaning many people will play online during it's release on October 1st and they should have prepared appropriately.
The strange thing is that most people seem to be accepting it, but if it was any other developer they would be losing their 🤬.

I made a World Record in my first Race. Second Place. :)

It's a world record because the cloud is down and you will have to do it again later anyway. Just stop playing.

1.- These first days issues happen in every single popular game. People are used to it.
2.- This issue isn't solved by just 'buying some servers'.
3.- It isn't a good decision to 'buy servers' only for the first days. The goal is to handle the usual quota, which is miles lower and costs way less to maintain.

4.- I don't get why some people are so desperate to play. A couple of days of delay doesn't matter at all.

I've managed to save an online character, but I couldn't access the first race. :grumpy: :banghead:

I finally managed to connect online for a while and get past the first race. I held up a couple of gas stations to get some cash and just screwed around for a bit. I tried to do some jobs but they were quite slow to load. I grabbed a Futo off the streets and made it my personal car.

I think that our GTP crew should have some get-togethers from time to time so as not to be stressed out by randoms.

Unless you are new to gaming, no one accepts this with any mp game. And it happens with EVERY MP GAME. Yes it sucks and it is frustrating but it is nothing new. Been like this for many years. EVERY game. It will eventually be fixed, you just have to wait patiently. Might be a day, might be a week, might be months like TDU2. We have been warning everyone about this for many months. Most members already knew this was going to happen.

I've been searching for GTP members online, but the game says I'm the only crew member online. I have Lamar calling me every 5 seconds. :-/

Herein lies the problem. If Rockstar had launched the Online 2 weeks ago, the would have been a divide between people who would have wanted to play the single player and people who wanted to play the multiplayer.

However, Rockstar decided to launch it two weeks later (for unspecified reasons), when a great proportion of people have finished the single player and want to play the multiplayer. Due to this, you have about 5 million people or more trying to get into the servers at the same time on both platforms. This is obviously quite a ways past the amount of people Rockstar thought would be playing. To add to this, the consumer will play the game in a very different way to the way beta testers played it or the developers played. Whereas "Person X" may have played the game through the set narrative the game has, "Person Y" may just want to play the game with his friends, a very different approach to how beta testers may have played it. The servers also may not be able to cope with the way people try to get in. When people get sign in errors, they will try repeatedly over and over again until they get angry, this will put an large amount of strain on the servers, leading to the issues we are seeing now.

Did my first GTA Race. So Much fun :D. 2 Rockets that shoot out as a pickup. :D I am now Level 3 :). Best Multiplayer experience i ever had. 👍 R*

No Lag. I won btw :P

Annoyed, managed to play for 30 minutes or so earlier and got my character to level 4, just loaded up again and my character has vanished and I will be forced to make another one, play that stupid f'in intro again and repeat that dumb race. I know things will get better but I like a moan.

I didnt have to do intro. Wen right to multiplayer. Plus Police are so much more strict online D:.

Looking at property's ranges from 20k-400k

2 Car Garages up to 10 car garages. Depending on property.

Did it save your character after it reloaded? The 1st time mine reloaded it dropped me right where I left off, in my car heading to a waypoint, the next time it made me create a new character.
