Is anyone else having trouble with lag on the PS4? I'm playing the Pacific Standard - Vans set up and I'm a navigator, and the game is lagging so much I'm finding it impossible to direct my driver. My screen shows him crashing, then stopping, then jumping to another location as the game catches up, then the car will slow down again and suddenly jump somewhere else again. I direct him one way thinking he's driving on one route, then the game will jump and it turns out I've directed him in the completely wrong direction. It normally only happens in busy public lobbies, but now it's happening on jobs too. It makes the game pretty much unplayable.

That's peer to peer lag. Someone's connection(likely the driver's) is terrible. I rarely see any lag, but I play with a smaller group of people with verified connections most of the time.

I get it almost every time I'm a passenger. Maybe it's something on my end?

I had the same problem last night, same setup. My driver though was able to get my directions and we were able to finish.

Surprisingly the main heist went fairly well.

This was so bad I couldn't direct him to any of the vans. The other two got all the photos themselves. I texted the driver telling him I couldn't direct him because of lag, but since he was a random I have no idea where he was from or if he even understood what I said.

Don't bother with the drivers. You're better off driving yourself. The vans always spawn in the same locations so they're not that hard to find.

Never done the vans set up before so I had no idea what I was doing at first, if I'm honest. I'll remember that for next time though.

If you are seeing the lag with different players as the driver it is possible; the lag can be on either end. The car crashing, then teleporting back on the road is a symptom of the PS4 attempting to extrapolate the lost packets and then when it reconnects the car will teleport back on the road. If it's all with randoms it may be difficult to tell which side it's on without knowing the others' connection quality. The only things you can really do on your end is resetting your modem/router and hardwiring the PS4 to improve your own connection.

As I detailed in another post(I forget where) that mission is most easily done if the driver knows where the vans are and just drives directly to them, as they always run the same route, but I'm assuming that isn't an option for you at this point.

Well, I get it a lot when I play with my friend too, and as far as I know she has decent internet. It's most likely my connection then, since I know I don't have the best. I've yet to play Destiny without disconnecting every two minutes. Unfortunately I live in an area where fibre optic broadband isn't available so I'm about one step up from dial up.

My PS4 used to be wired, but it seemed to always disconnect itself from the ethernet cable, so I switched to wireless.

Most of the time, the game won't even send the message because the swear filter never wants to work.

That'll do it. There isn't much data being exchanged in GTA Online so the bandwidth doesn't matter as much as the ping rate and packet loss. What you're experiencing is extreme packet loss.

For fun you can always check out your connection quality at http://www.measurementlab.net/tests or www.speedtest.net. To check for packet loss you can go to http://www.pingtest.net/

So the Savage will be less than a million? Sweet! I'll just need 4 people to do the setup to unlock it for me. At least somebody here should have the heist. :p

I'll be home on Sunday, sometime after 4PM EST, as a rough guess.

I can help. :)

Am I the only one who gets annoyed when people try to take the golden Luxor seriously?

Most people who bought that thing, such as myself, are so rich that they just purchased it as joke.

Unless some people think the ability to drink champagne and smoke in a plane is worth 10 million

I don't see how it could be taken seriously. It's Rockstar's most blatant cash grab ever. Thankfully, it isn't useful in the slightest.

I can start the convoy setup straight away.

I'm going to eat dinner soon, so it will be at least 30 to 45 minutes until we can play.

*Only on next gen and PC.

It's more of a joke vehicle than anything. Complaining about something like that is just annoying.

Do all of the utility vests provide protection or just the heavy ones?

I was wondering the same thing. During some setups when the outfits were set to "From Selection," I had the option of wearing an outfit with the stealth vest. Normally, when I wear the black heavy utility vest, I need to jump to move faster. With the stealth one, I can sprint normally.

The heavy vest that doesn't allow you to run is the one that provides additional armour protection. The Stealth vest does not.

Like I said, won't be on u til Sunday evening, but you want to do some of the early setups, by all means go right ahead. All I ask is save me the Convoy one so I can get me the Savage! 👍

But the Savage is only on sale for today and I don't have the heist unlocked.
