GTA: SA - Have you reserved your copy?

My local GAME store will have more than enough to go round. They are also doing a promotion at the moment where if you trade in any five games, you can have a new game for free. I got five ****ty games that are going to be exchanged.

pimpin_t -- EB over here lets you trade in 2 PS2 games for San Andreas and buy it for $49.95 ($AU). They won't let you do that deal that you have for San Andreas. Any other game though...They also have a list of games you can't trade in for these 2 deals.

I'm going to pre-order mine from www.Amazon.co.uk. It is for under £30 (Good for a new PS2 game). Just have to get my dad to get on the computer to do it! And I'll get Burnout 3 at the same time

GAME told me I can't trade in football or wrestling games. The five I showed them were fine. I have already part exchanged them in with GAME and they said I can pick my copy up 29th. There wasn't any problems. I am in the UK so they may have different rules to where you are.

Yeah they would. You can't trade wrestling games here except for whatever the latest one is. You also can't trade old games, like GT3, etc.

Yeah we probably have the same late-night shopping things because we both live in AUS. If they need money, I’ll have to go put more on it because there is no way I’m waiting for the next shipment.

Imagine missing the first shipment of GTA:SA. I couldn't bare it. Luckily in the UK even supermarkets stock the lastest PS2 games.

Big W and Target at my shopping centre would stock a few copies, but hardly any and other people would have this idea, too.

Luckily over the last week or so, I've gained a friendship with one of the managers of EB, who also writes part-time for PSM Australia. I've been in there heaps lately, and I've filled him in with some San Andreas news. In return he's keeping a copy stored for me as soon as the first shipment comes in! So I'm happy right now. And there's still no word of a delay in Australia from any trustworthy or official sources.

Anyopne ever do business with gamestop or EB? I want to know if I order San Andreas, if it will be delivered on monday 10/25 instead of 10/26. 10/25 is the pre-release date.

I preordered a few days ago... the EB I went to is in the mall and they're promising to open their doors at 12:01am on October 26th to start sales... I don't know how they're going to get a mall in the middle of downtown toronto to stay open that late, but they've got something figured out.

I'll probably reach the store to pick up my copy by 8:45am on that morning on the walk to school from the train station.

Yes. They get all copies of it before they open doors usually for the release date. So if it's coming on October 26th 12:01AM, then they will have it after dinner time on October 25th.

If they're staying open, whilst getting copies in, that's very brave of them.

It can not be at your house on October 25th. They officially stock them on their shelves on October 26th.

I went and payed all of the money off GTA and GT4. While I was there, I also pre-ordered and payed for the game guides to both of them........I don't know why really but I did. I guess just because its the official one and has a bit of infomation. Anyone else going to get or pre-order the guide?

Well, when I went down to first do it, they told me about that deal. It's like 40% off the game guide or something. I said no, as I usually hate game guides while I'm first playing the game. I might end up getting it for the Hidden Packages (which haven't even been confirmed yet, but are expected), Unique Stunts and Rampages. But not now. I will after I've done everything I want to do.

My guy at EB still says there's nothing yet on our release date being in November. The only change that has been made is to October 29th still. Looking good!

I've pre-ordered from Amazon purely because it's 10 quid cheaper than the shops... problem being is that the delivery is slow cos it's free (Can't afford expensive delivery) so I'm hoping that I'll get it for saturday the 30th... but expecting Monday the 1st.

I just hate ordering from overseas, or interstate. I'd rather get it from a source close-by. I don't overly care much for the prostitutes, never have, but it would be nice. But thinking about it, I would hardly use it at all.

Plus, my copy will be safely kept aside by the generous people I know at EB Games. Thanks guys. 👍

I won't use the guide to get through the missions or anything like that, just for a bit of background information on the characters and stuff like that. I will eventually use it if I get really stuck on a mission and for packages if they are included.

If GTA comes out on say a Monday, will my copy still be held until I pick it up or is it up for grabs if I dont pick it up straight away? Because I can only really get there on mums days off which is Wednesday, Friday and the weekend.

I rather learn about all of that stuff in the game. Blake has the Vice City Guide, but I only read it after I finished the game. For Hidden Packages, I used the internet.

No copies get held aside (ignoring my copy being held aside) at all. So if there's a copy when you get there, then you get it. They will never refuse a customer, so you have to get there before the first shipment runs out. If the first shipment has run out before Wednesday, have a nice wait.

Damn it! I guess I'll get my brother to get it or something then. He lives near Pacific Fair (Where EB is) so I'll just pay him or something. Or I'll catch a bus or something like that but I will find a way, there is no way I'm waiting for the second shipment.

If you read my thread I just created "Where do Rockstar go from here?" (or whatever it's called) they predict that this will beat the all time most pre-ordered game in the world.

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

$99.95, but as always they have a special, trade in like 3 PS2 games and get it for $49.95...but I've done that deal so much I don't have many games left. And I'm not getting rid of any GTA...
