i finished GTA3 yesterday and ive gotta say the game was nothing great. there werent enough missions to complete and most of the missions were far too easy to complete.

anyone else feel the same way?

you know, now that i thinkback your right. I got bored of it pretty quickly, especially without cheats. The graphics stunk, the game didnt load off the disk fast enough, the missions did get boring. Now that i think about it i wasnt too thrilled with it either.

I like it :) I felt cheated in the PS2 version, but not on my PC version! :D So many good editors so many different cars.

Hey, how did you do that mission where you have to drive by the Purple Nines (First mission for D-Ice) I forgot how i did it the first time :o

Aie. I have tried that before but i still can't kill them in time

It has glitches (and so does Vice City; I just had it freeze on me on a level 11 vigilante mission...argh...), some missions are a bit connect the dotish, but after GT3, the two GTA games have become my favorites.

For one, the non-linear play, all the extra stuff to do around the cities is much different from other such games I've seen. And there're several ways to complete most of the missions, so you can see how inventive you can get, too.

And, both games are absolutely hilarious. I think this is what much of the more moral criticism misses. And, I do think, if someone's not mentally mature enough to get the jokes or that everything is a joke, then they really shouldn't play these titles. Without the humor, this would be a much different game.

But I may play it differently than most people, too. I actually avoid killing peds or police. Maybe I'm just nuts.

Anyway, I bought a PS2 specifically because of Gran Turismo, and after that, nearly everything else has been disappointing (but it did set an awfully high standard), with the GTA games being one of the few exceptions.

So, yeah, it may be overrated, but it's still a great game.

I think the release VC has perhaps highlighted some of GTA3's flaws? Like the character not talking... but I throughly enjoyed it esepcially the final mission :smilewink

When I first played GTA3 I was amazed, but now in comparison with VC it is a joke.

The main thing different are the textures.

I have also noticed better framerate and it just seems to have smoother animations although a few animations are pretty chopped up. i.e. falling off a bike, jumping out of the car, jumping off the bike while moving.
