I think it should look like a sports car but be the size of a city car
Oh, okay, you got me lost thereI wasn't refering to the high of the car @Grandea GTR , just the smart design of the Mitsubishi Colt, where the base line goes from the headlights, the hood and the windshield up to the roof. It's just a little bit of inspiration, not a guide line to make it a dull shopping cart![]()
I don't mind so long as it cocks a wheel in hard cornering 👍Oh, okay, you got me lost there
Anywho, an important topic I want to discuss is:
Suspension.
What would be effective? Independent? Pushrod?
I already have shrunken the battery to 15% of its original weight.OK guys instead of using the traditional battery I think I found a good replacement that won't add as much weight and also wouldn't take much space. I've been doing a little research and searching on the Internet and here's what I got: Energy-storing body panels

Well its open source, if they care they will come.Single seater seems fine to me to fit the proportions. @kapnk006 I think your right we do need to keep the community involved at each stage.
I've looked to the design of @eran0004 again and maybe I've found something that can be crucial to eliminate out the design.

For a spotscar, the design has the right dimensions. Long nose, low profile, wide body. Seems good to me.
But for a key car I think this orange/red area had to be skipped or shortened for a design that is in balance within the kei-car regulations. A more cab-forward design.

I take for example a slight bigger car, the Mitsubishi colt, short nose, sharp design, but from headlights till over the windshield it's a design that stands and is in balance. Without going to high in this design, I think the windshield can 'start' at the point where I marked the body orange. I think, with the skills of Eran, he could design in that Autozam AZ-box and he can do this without making it like a toon-car. I believe in you @eran0004![]()
As an Industrial Designer by trade (my job is to ideate, sketch and 3D model aesthetic product concepts).................. I am involved in projects ........such that in this case..........I would expect that 3 to 4 refined alternative Aesthetic Concept sketches of 787's design would be created......... that the community would then vote for in the next poll. Component Concepts (single seater, transverse mounted motor, battery type, rear wing, etc.) required to execute each of the refined sketches would be presented along with that particular sketch in the poll. This methodical voting process keeps the Community involved beyond the Team VGT group here. Once the next sketch is voted for.............refinements would occur to the selected sketch Aesthetic details......and the Community would continue to vote along the way. 3D modeling would be introduced a bit later down the development process. This is the methodical process that I am familiar with.![]()
>turn on carWhy bother with the 5 turbo twin engine W50 piston arrangement 7 wheel drive convertible van when we can jump to the holy grail of MRs instead? A full on Formula car with headlights and adjustable suspensions, and no bigger than an elise! Its the world's first, mini road legal Formula Car that anyone can buy! (With some amazing front bumpers too!)

Pretty confident with this design

The McLaren F1 is a 3 seater with the driver seat in the middle, I think we should do something similar.
There's a limit with a Kei car sized car, y'know.Nah I want the opposite; no electric so we can use a larger, more powerful engine
Couldn't we put the battery under the car like the Model S?I know but without a battery we would gain space
No... that's not true. Actually the oppisite. Near future batteries and electric engines have more efficiency than Combustion engines and gasoline. Meaning more power less space. Just put the battery in the frame. We can have a 2000 hp car if we want. Let's just put a dial. On the dash that let's you adjust your max power from 300 he to 2000 hp. LolI know but without a battery we would gain space
Also not true. Near future electric weighs less than gasoline and combustion engine. If we put it under the car it could work but another reason I don't favor hybrid tech is that it makes the car significantly gain weight. Our kei sized car should only weigh a little over 2000 lbs at the max
It's been made in small amounts for testing. It was mathmatically calculated how efficient it would be in the Labratories. But they are experiencing a few issues they have to fix. The batteries refuse the recharge, probably hot and explode often too. And the engine is under development by one of the Airplane companies."Near future" implies that it hasn't been made yet
Yes and we're not an engineering firm we have no idea how to apply that futuristic tech to a car. I don't pd would take us seriously if we used experimental tech.
We decided on structural batteries. If we put it under the car it could work but another reason I don't favor hybrid tech is that it makes the car significantly gain weight. Our kei sized car should only weigh a little over 2000 lbs at the max
