I want to thank all the creators for doing a tremendous job in their interpretation of Gran Turismo 5 through their videos and choice of music.
After watching all the user-made videos in this thread and some that aren't listed here, I'd like to bring to attention my favorite videos that I think everyone here should see. In my opinion, they display a level of sophistication that rivals, if not surpasses, official trailers made by Polyphony Digital. Those who exhibit the following (to me) are:
Tommikin - "5OUL ON D!SPLAY"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibzpHAl1M1A
A very good incorporation of all the licenses introduced, like NASCAR, WRC and Top Gear without compromising the fidelity of the E3 2010 official trailer. Creating a video for the whole song with scenes that match the pace of the E3 trailer is no easy feat. Fantastic job.
Tommikin - "Moon Over the Castle"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=452h-bAUOWc
Tommikin has a knack for capturing the feel of the franchise, and his homage to the introduction of Gran Turismo 2 does the song justice. The introduction is utterly brilliant, the buildup riveting, and the his montage of cars nostalgic. The song choice, naturally, puts it over the top. Hard to choose between this or his first video.
KoppabergDave - "Ooh La La"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXalZw44mAk
How this one has only 400 views (as of now) confounds me. Perhaps it was the unconventional song choice of "Ooh La La", departing from the grandeur, "epic" feel, that made people overlook it. In my opinion, the song is classy, sexy, and beautiful - exactly what the cars in his trailer are. Match that with clips that sync with the music, and you get a brilliant fan trailer. I do have to point out that the delay of the game makes it outdated (referring to inclusion of the November 2nd date). Nonetheless, KoppabergDave is a great, and very underrated, editor (his take on the GT1 song is pretty snazzy as well).
There are many other honorable mentions to praise but that would take up a lot of time. My top three are those that keep me clicking the replay button many times, and make me do a double-take on whether or not it was fan-made or professional. I feel that once the proper introduction for Gran Turismo 5 surfaces, we will see countless masterpieces from everyone here. So thank you, great job, and keep it up everyone!
