On this day when Lionel is laid to rest, one of the things I remember.

What Lionel said to me quite often: "Thanks a lot Pepper" as I tried the inside line on the last turn at Brands Hatch, as he drove wide into the gravel.

What I heard Lionel say to Stewy quite often: "Thanks a lot Stewy" as Stewy tried the inside line on the last turn at Brands Hatch and Lionel drove wide into the gravel.
And so on... That's Geezer Racing,

Rest in peace - Cheers Lionel!

R.I.P. Lionel, you are missed.:indiff:

Now Pepper in response to your "that's Geezer Racing", I am thinking about taking a little hiatus from geezer racing (as much as I don't want to.) because of getting knocked out of races. It seems to be mostly one person that I have a problem with. I understand the competitiveness in all of us and it certainly is not always an intentional thing but I try to always race clean (of course I am guilty of bumps and bangs myself). This person is a very fast racer and I don't see the need to bump people out of the race just to win, if you like that kind of racing then go do the quick matches. I made it around 1 lap at Brands Hatch last race day and this person was hitting me the whole way done the stretch like we were at Daytona draft bumping and then took me out in the first corner with his last hit. It is by far not the first time it has happened and I just got tired of it and retired for the day. Again I know most bumps are not intentional but it has happened way too often that I get knocked out of a race. If nobody else has this complaint then I don't want to try and change anything about geezer racing but if anyone else does maybe we could bring this up to everybody. Maybe I will cool down by next race day but I don't know right now. :banghead:

Very sorry if I missed the Lionel tribute laps but I didn't remember what time you said they were Stewy.

Geezers today for Le Sarthe geezer event, now go to mid turbo, tune suspension, tune differential. downforce at stock.
Set gears to stock then move top speed to 205 only. use either medium or hard tyres.

You know when I wrote this I really didn't consider that we were doing this intentionally. That particular corner seems to be the one that a lot of contact is made simply because it's so hard to judge speed and actually see the corner when you are close behind another car. Please reconsider your decision.

Sorry if you misunderstood Pepper. I wasn't saying that anyone in the races you were referring to did anything intentional, this has been something that I have been dealing with from this person (not you either Stewy) for awhile now, not just at Brands Hatch but everywhere and I just got to where I couldn't take it anymore. Maybe I should address it with him but he seems to have a bit of a short temper anyway or at least is very impatient so I am really not trying to start any problems but maybe just something said in general before races that we are there to have fun and getting knocked out of a race is not fun, again it is sometimes hard to tell when intention is there or not but like I said this has been going on, with me at least, for awhile and it is pretty much every week. I don't want to start retaliating because I just don't think that would accomplish anything but create more hard feelings. I also don't want him to stop racing with us because of me, everyone there adds something to the group. This is a great group of guys in the geezer club and maybe I was just trying to get suggestions as to how to (as Barney Fife would say) nip this in the bud as I do not want to stop racing with you guys.

Mots TT at Sarthe. My best time is 3:32.094 Duce is really tearing the track up at the end - great driving! Since I am posting my times due to Geezeritis (using the wrong car in the beginning) this is my final for this week.
Settings used:
667pp 614 hp 771 kg Racing medium tires
RH 98/97
9.77/8.39
4/4
4/4
3/3
cam 0's
toe 0's
BB 7/6
Mid range turbo
Trans stock 205 top speed
Diff stock 10/40/20
DForce 400/550

I had difficulty controlling the car under heavy braking - the rear stepped out no matter what I did with brakes. Wound up using stock diff settings. Got into the 31's but with red laps.

Does not appear that I have the skills to keep up with you guys , so I'll just fade away. Just remember this: " Behind every big man, is a big man's behind."

If you compete with people of a higher skill level you will improve your skills. You compete with people of a lower skill level you will stand still and not improve. That means don't give up we will help you.

Next Saturday will be as follows

Race 1 Bathurst 10 laps full tune in the 2J no nos

Race 2 Monza 10 laps full tune in the 2D no nos

race 3 will be an endurance race with a one make car, Track will be Indy Road and car will be the Peugeot 408 hdi one

make so you do not need to purchase this car.

This will be a short 20minute race with no pit stops allowed in a car that eats fuel like it's

going out of fashion and will not make the time allowed on the fuel without some pretty fancy

fuel save driving. It also uses rubber faster than a condom factory.

There will be points awarded, 1 for a win, 2 for second etc.

Fastest lap gets a point which will be taken off your score, lowest score wins.

There is an event open in the Geezer room for you to have a go.:eek::eek: :crazy::crazy: :lol::lol:

I've now given this a go with the mid-level turbo and after spending an hour at La Sarthe, I was able to run a 3:28.767 lap which put me just ahead of @Stewyripper who is running a very fast lap:tup:

27511856564_624a7be1e9_k.jpg

I find that running the Chaparral with this much horsepower is quite tough, since the added horsepower seems to overwhelm the Chaparral's chassis (or maybe it just overwhelms my driving skills:grumpy::D)
Good luck everyone!

Good morning Geezers for the final round at Le Sarthe you may use any 1970 or earlier race car within game limits 700pp

If anyone manages to get gold can you please post car and tune.

I may change the year limit if no one gets gold in 1970 or earlier car by 00.00 EST 5.00 UK Monday morning UK time.

Have fun and good luck getting that gold.

The Chaparral 2J can run a gold lap:

The above was done with only the mid-level turbo, so the PPvalue was only 690, so a quicker lap is easily possible. I ran this on my other game profile (GTsail9) because I'm still going to try to go faster with the 2D on my Geezer acct.

Mots Willow week 4. I was going to use the Shelby fully tuned, but decided that the Lamborghini Miura '67 is a great drive. The grip level with comfort soft is enough to get a good lap in the 1:23 range. I know it's 15 million (I am currently grinding to get the credits), so if you'd rather go with the Mazda RX500 because you can't afford the Miura go right ahead. I didn't want to use the Mazda again because that gets boring. I've done a 1:23.xx last night on my regular account in testing. I used both the hard or soft chassis tune with an upgraded transmission set to an appropriate speed. The diff setting I'll update when I get home tonight, but you can tune that as you like. P Mallard

PS: PLEASE USE ONLY ONE OF THOSE TWO CARS FOR YOUR BEST LAP AS THAT IS WHY WE POST A SPECIFIC CAR AND SOMETIMES A SPECIFIC TUNE TO USE. (unless Geezeritis strikes) Thank you

I wasn't participating last Sat, but if I were there you most likely would have had some company. Although I drive to win, my skills seldom match my desires but I always have fun and sometimes even have success. Please don't think you're value as a Geezer is dependent on your speed on the track.

Due to other commitments tomorrow i will have the room open at the normal time but i will not be there until 14.30 UK. Silverstone qualifying finishes at the same time.

Gents, mine is only 1 vote,, but ~ I'm for Stewy opening the lobby/race room but for only 1 hour delay I vote we wait for the GZR racing until Stewy can join, or he can open a new race lobby. (what say you) WSY?

Lionel's wife would like to thank the Geezers for the beautiful floral tribute sent.

Thank you Stewy,

The flowers and especially the message ~ we geezers know our old friend Lionel has read it, he liked it, he's gripping his steering wheel and ready for us. We hope we don't join him TOO SOON!, but he knows we're on our way. Whomever paid for the arrangement and delivery,, Thank you VERY much and if there's some way we can contribute I would like to get in line. I wish I did not have to admit the thought did not occur to me, but I'm very happy someone was so thoughtful to send them. We miss our old buddy alot. I ran the new RaceNet challenges a couple days ago, but playing Grid AutoSport just isn't the same without seeing his lap times posted near the top of the leaderboards. Rest Well Lionel.

I added stage 3 turbo to my Chaparral 2D and was able to win the Silver trophy at La Sarthe with a 3:19.644 lap:)

I should be able to find a little more speed if I work on my tune some more, so I'll probably head back to the track and put in some more miles:crazy:

Thanks much Pepper, 👍👍

I was hesitant to write something about these choices until I took the time to give 'em a rip and see what's what. I so wanted to run a swift lap with the Cobra,, absolutely luv to hear that 427 beller out it's sweet V8 music but alas it was more than this 'ol GZR could handle and I had to park it. Don't care much for the RX so took the Miura out for a try and WOW!! Where the Cobra is an excellent street hotrod, I'd have to say he's akin to a spirited Quarter Horse whereas the Miura,, that well bred Thoroughbred stallion in no uncertain terms put the Cobra back on the trailer to be dragged home with it's fangs trimmed in fine fashion. If anyone wants it I'll post the tune I have for the Lambo Miura. No way am I done with this Big Willow TT - at least not for another 2 1/2 days :mischievous:. Now GO GET 'EM fellow GEEZERS!!

Thanks Duce. I thought the Cobra with more power was not really a fun drive, too much power for the tires.
My tune for the Miura at Willow
980 kg 500pp engine stock moved down to 317 hp. I might have done an oil change, but you don't have to.
Suspension, I used the soft selection to start with BB at 6/5
Transmission, upgraded but just moved it to 168 (might be too high)
Differential, set to 7/13/9
Active steering - mild
I don't know if the 1:22s are possible with more tuning and driving, but maybe. P Mallard

2J at Sarthe

853 kg 700pp 1040hp (try adding 32kg to the stock weight and take the extra horsepower)

Suspension (altered Stewy 2D numbers just to see what would happen)
59/50
7/7
7/7
3/3
0/0
-.10 +.03
BB 10/10
Differential 6/11/6
Transmission
reset and then leave fg alone top speed 236
1.382
.930
.672
FG 3.541 for higher top speed just move 3rd gear, but just a couple of clicks.
Good for 3:09.305 with another second possible.
I did about 50 - 60 laps and had one red lap (last turn) at 308.4xx
