I'm still learning to fly the anihilator-- its not as responsive as the hunter was in VC (which I got quite good at flying)...

I'm good for Saturday-- thursday-- no way (will be at work).

I've noosed about $250,000 the last week trying to get my time-- I read on gtaforums that you need to get all three target times for the coop trophy in one sitting-- i don't see this occuring if true-- I can't manage to get the time on noose (not for lack of trying--- I'm sure I'll get it)-- and I have the BDB II glitch that kicks me out of the game most times as I approach the ship-- which will make this next to impossible to get in a timely manner-- let alone the other two....

deal breaker doesn't seem like it will be too hard-- will definitely need a good heli pilot and some coordination-- 2 players work top of building down, other 2 work bottom up... getting the boat right away is pretty important (as it passes by the point to the SW of the building)-- chasing it down takes a while otherwise.

Also a tip for noose--- especially important if a 2 man team is playing it-- get on the wing of Kenny's plane-- you have a better view of the swat teams and can even shoot over the top of some of the stuff they hide behind...--- there is a health pickup on the wing too-- you can hold off the cops by yourself up there while the other guy gets the heli... the only difference (I've noticed anyway) is that for easy you get 5 lives, medium 4 lives, and hard 3 lives-- and the total pay off-- the cop spawning and their AI seems the same to me on different difficulties..

I think all the noose time has helped my deathmatch skills--- I was all over a team deathmatch the yesterday--- we played to $5000-- I had 39 kills, my partner had 8--- this was against a 4 man team, a 3 man team, and another 2 man team.... we won pretty easily--

Sureshot - for tonight's races, can I suggest either 1-Lap Stars in Your Eyes or 1-Lap Taxiing? We should be able to rattle through races quickly enough that, even if we're joined by others, everyone present can get a huge chunk of their 20 wins done.

I also got a few GTA Races done the other night, so I think I'm up to 8/9 wins - meaning I don't need to win many races tonight/Saturday and am quite happy to help others towards it. Incidentally, if you already have the Top the Midnight Club trophy and you're joining us, don't win any races - we need to help everyone in the Group towards the trophy, and a race won by someone who already has the trophy is a race wasted.

I've been practicing NOOSE and I reckon with three of us who know what we're doing - mopping up and and boarding the chopper the second the 4th player lands it - and the extremely good pilot on my Friends list, a 2'2x is on the cards, maybe even less.

I havent ranked in ages in my proper account. Too lazy plus Im only GTA'in if you guys are playing.

;)

Same again, races tonight? no deathmatches?

Post 1 does say what the scheduled games are. It also says "Requests". If you have a specific request for specific trophies, please add it.

Games will be many and varied - the aim is to get as many different trophies for as many people as possible (if you have any specific requests, please let me know).

The group is about getting as many trophies to as many people as possible. Otherwise we'd all go play multiplayer on our own.

Works for me.

Since we've had little by way of request, and we can't guarantee the 10 players needed for the nightmareish trophies, we could go for the Top/Join the Midnight Club trophies - 1 lap races with damage enabled. We should be able to plough through and get the trophies for everyone attending - or at least get a huge chunk of the way there to finish off in another session.

The point of doing this all isn't to get trophies for ourselves - we can all do that without having a group to do it in. The point is to help other people get trophies.

I know I can rack up enough race wins if I plug at it all day to get my Top The Midnight Club trophy. But people don't always have the time to do it like that. I don't mind setting aside 90 minutes from my week to help them get the trophy. If anyone gets it tonight, they'll probably even manage it before I get it... But that's the point of the group. If you've already got the trophy, please join us and help those who don't by helping them win races (blocking the non-GTPers if we don't fill out the room).

I've been playing a lot of NOOSE/Deal Breaker recently and reckon that, providing everyone else knows the drill, I can help people get the target times in those trophies (again, without having done it myself - but I'll automatically get it if they do). Bomb Da Base not so much - I've had one go and the game flidded out when we reached the boat. I don't know which of us were affected by the bug. So we might like to try those games once we've disseminated the racing trophies. They're good money-spinners too, so they'll help people up towards that Rank 10.

When it's time to do NOOSE, the procedure is:
Nominate one person from the team to fly the Chopper. We can do that in here.
Let them go get the Chopper.
Shoot cops. Watch for the Chopper coming in.
The INSTANT the Chopper touches down and Petrovic moves for it, everyone get in the Chopper.
Win.

Or morons who prat about with the heli blades. Twice I've ended up in Bohan while standing in the Safe Zone. BOHAN.

21:30 LETS GO!!

I hate people who can't bring pertovic and drop him to die and boom pertrovic is dead...(meanwhile you are WTF and waiting at the meet)

When you invited me in to the NOOSE mission earlier, there was four of us, which makes that method hard because the chopper can only hold 4, but we have 5 including Petrovic.

What I was trying to do was jump with you onto the baggage carrier thing, so we both go to the choppers, then I take one to the drop off and wait while someone else takes the other chopper back to Petrovic.

Obviously we could take turns as the person gets the easy job of waiting at the drop off point. :) On Saturday night (for your guys), I'm willing to try the Co-Op missions again if anybody wants to. Otherwise I'm cool for any game mode really. The only trophies I have are Cut Your Teeth and Join the Midnight Club.

Hmm, interesting point. I chose to let you go for the chopper, 'cos I did it the previous round

I seem to also have a weird bug on Bomb the Base II. By a fluke two of us got left behind by the morons in the heli, so I had to drive to the ship. Got there, jumped out, climbed up the ramp, boarded the ship, hopped up on the cargo hold roof and, plip, got dropped.

No idea what's going on there - I got dropped previously in a heli, several hundred metres away from the ship...

Good racing tonight. Had some fun with a player who was obviously out to just cause mayhem. My second clue was that he was on full-right lock before the race even started. He missed, and seemed quite surprised (even more so when I sent him a message of thanks [for taking out the other cars] on the forum he calls "home").

I think I'm up to 14 now (yay boats). We need to get a decent GTP_ showing though one session, so more of us get wins compared with the randoms.

No worries. That idea came from this video. As you can see, you don't have to cleanly land the chopper, if you're good enough to crash right into the centre. :)

He also has videos for the other two co-op missions.

I learned the Heli route from a rather excellent pilot the previous night :D I can smack it down on that yellow blip at full speed now.

I just got my time about 30 minutes ago-- 2:30.xx -- I was flying and managed not to flub the landing (was hard not to keep glancing at the clock)-- hope the time gets recorded-- sometimes PSN drops some sessions...

Good racing last night, lads. I added 3/4 more race wins. See you all Saturday night, same time as last night.

I've been successfully playing Bomb Da Base II today. I should like to add "5'34? 5'34?! In what universe is that possible?"

I probably won't be available until quite late on tonight (if at all).

So chances to win for the rest of you ;)

I'll bring my racing gloves-- I just set my alarm on my cell to remind me an hour before game start time.

Regarding the BDBII

I'm sure it is possible, but I have that stupid glitch that kicks you out to single player almost every time as you approach the ship-- I've had it since the trophy patch-- and even tried deleting and a reinstall (redownload of the patches)-- still have it.

I've read that for most of those multi trophies (fly the coop, team wins, etc) you have to do them in one sitting-- don't know if its true.

Oddly, I've been able to complete BDB2 twice and been dropped three times. There's no logical pattern to it (one drop was in the Chopper in the air, one was in the chopper on the quayside, one was on foot on the deck)

Most times, the explosives truck is delivered to the drop off in about 2'30, leaving just over 3 minutes to fly to the ship, board it, kill the crew, plant the bombs and get off. No.

That was productive last night. Me and Spuds must have had about 7-8 races between just us two. I racked up about 8 wins last night.

Was fun too....

We were kicking anyone that joined our race but eventually 2 people would get in before we could kick the first one and then the race would fill up-- in which case, working as a team this way did help us get a few wins-- whichever one of us screwed up/crashed first would then go and try to crash into the other players so the other could win-- worked sometimes, not always... a good one for this is a one lap race of horse punch-- where driving the opposite direction you can block somone 3 times in a one lap race-- otherwise it was a matter of trying to spin out others on turns when they slowed down for a turn you don't.

And I think you may have misunderstood the message I sent you when I said "I gave you that one"-- you ended up barely beating me yes (you came in 4th and me in 5th), but what I meant was I was crashing into/blocking several people and got you a big lead that you lost late in the race.

On a completely unrelated note... I just found this and enabled it on my PS3-- you can't play while it is doing this but if you want to donate the processing power (the power to run it is your donation) of your PS3 to a good cause.... on the main menu-- click on the "life with playstation" link and sign up for fold @ home...

What this does is fold proteins which helps medical researchers develop all kinds of treatments for various diseases and/or drugs-- you can also download an application to run on your PCs also-- this will run in the background and should not interfere with any processes but does the same thing as the PS3-- just not nearly as fast as the PS3 can.... I urge everyone to at least run it on their PCs-- especially if you leave your PC on all the time anyway (I know some people do this).

More info on what they are doing can be found here.... http://folding.stanford.edu/English/Main

My PS3 has been running for about 24 hours now and is on it's 4th Work unit now... my 3 PCs are running too but none have them have finished one yet-- each is about 20% done with their first one-- the faster higher end PCs will run alot faster then mine can-- it can even utilize video card processors.

I joined a team which compiles team statistics in sort of a contest over at GTAForums where I'm a moderator.... but you don't have to join a team... the unregisterd "PS3" user (default user for PS3 users) has folded-- a bunch more then any other nearly 5 million proteins... it looks like alot of businesses participate in this too.

http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=userstats

The link for PC downloading of the application is here: http://folding.stanford.edu/English/Download

You want to download the first windows one (system tray one)-- there are links for linux and mac users also.

Thanks for listening...

Folding@home was released when the PS3 was - it's part of the launch software package. Just it's now incorporated into Life With Playstation.

There's a GTPlanet Folding@Home team somewhere - and yes, the PS3 can fold stuff in an hour that even flagship PCs can't do in a week.

Okay, latest plans are that we nominate a person to receive all race wins in a session so that we can get up to 20 race wins in one session for that person, thus giving them that trophy "Top the midnight club" iirc. Read the other active threads in the GTA forum if you want more info.

So, next planned event? If we're doing the above method, I think we need to start earlier than 2130GMT. Maybe 2000GMT/2030GMT? I'm not fussed on days, just can't do Sunday's.

I have the trophy, and will run interference happily for others.

Fridays I can't do earlier than 2100 - but that's okay as I can just join in once everyone else is running. Any other day and 2000 is fine.
