Congrats on the review too, a very interesting and informative read.

Thanks for taking the time to do this Amar. It's so refreshing to at last read something written by someone who is both intelligent and passionate about the game and who is willing to write in detail about the things that really matter. Looking forward to the next installment. 👍

Roll on next Wednesday.

I really wish i could stop reading this, i dont want to spoil the game for myself. However my impatience is winning damn it!

Great write up! Keep it up.

Congrats on the review too, a very interesting and informative read.

Please, can people stop asking that question, it's been answered 100 times (or more).

Looking forward to your updates later today amar, thanks. :)

I agree, sensible and enthusiastic without gushing.

Amar, please at some point explore the kart-track landscapes of the track-maker, and attempt to use a car there. I'm also interested in the maximum dimensions in terms of length and track width.

This would make me feel a bit better about the loss of some of the circuits.

Thanks.

Thanks for these amazing informations.I want to ask if you had a time to see how "Racing modification " works? Is it like GT2 ?Thanks for everything :)

Amar, can you please, answer about licences.

Is that only races ? Or, the 16 cars on tracks was just to clarify the amount of cars on track ?

This Thread is the first one I actually ''believe''.
The others were still convincing, but they just came out of nowwhere. (I don't mean Czech or anything just suddenly some1 had one...)

I like the way of telling the story and not like '' look what I got!''
Even the spoilers arn't really breathtaking.
Ok that we know now what price cars we have when we finish the license tests is cool (actually they didn't ring any bells to me, but if they run nice you won't be hearing complaints from here!)

Furthermore I am just wondering what it brings and actually it is disturbing me that I don't own a racing steer! By january hopefully I can buy one. I am just a simple student so you have a picture about the circumstances haha xD

Only a few days away and we can all enjoy the game!
Keep up the good work with the review!

I don't understand where the LAN-option is. Don't think it's a "unlockable feature" is it?

I havent read any of it. This is starting to cross that major spoiler line of ruining my experience when I first fire up the game, and killing my excitement for it. I really enjoy an element of unknown and new discovery when playing a big game for the first time, but im happy to hear that whatever he wrote is mostly positive.

The only thing I saw was that red SLS car in his photo, which im still wondering where he got it. It doesnt come with any version of the game.

I'd also like to say "Thank you!" to Amar.

I don't know if people have tried to do any writing like Amar has done, but it's not easy.

It takes skill, and effort, and intelligence. For Amar to take the time and really think about the subject and craft the smart, detailed, interesting, analysis we've gotten so far is a good indicator of his love for the game and dedication to this community.

It's impressive that he's done so much this early into the game.

I'd like to request two more things for Amars detailed analysis. 1) The damage system (specifically standard v premium), and 2) What is "transferable" between GT5 prologue and GT5.

Again, Thanks amar!!

I've got a few questions.

Can you save replays from a race against other cars (AI)? If so, can you re-watch that replay and take photos like you could in GT4 (pressing select while watching the replay from Replay Theater)?

Amar I just want to thank you for this thread. I was thinking that I might be little bit disappointed with this game but after reading your impressions I am excited again.

Congrats on the review too, a very interesting and informative read.

why can't you people read? you can't put rims on a standard car! this has been covered 50,000x :ouch:

Amar, can you tell us if You were able to shift (with clutch) the G25 without losing any speed/ power like in Prologo? I hope this bug is gone, because if not we have great problem in all online race. :nervous:

This was never a "bug" in Prologue, proper use of the clutch in Prologue Spec III did indeed have a loss of power and throttle during upshift. The problem was people who manually made a modification to the clutch activation to be able to flatshift.

I repeat, using the G25 and G27 clutch was NOT a bug, using the illegal home-made modification which a very tiny percentage of users have done, is the problem.

From what I have read here about the reason G25 and G27 are not fully supported by GT5, this modification appears to still be possible in Gran Turismo 5.

I have encountered it incredibly FEW times online anyone using this clutch cheat/mod in nearly 3 years of non-stop online racing in Prologue.

@Amar212, you have the deepest and most gracious thanks of the GT Planet community for your contributions and the time you have taken to bring so many people here the kind of detailed, intelligent and reliable information we have been craving for so incredibly long. I hope, regardless of any negativity you may encounter anywhere on the forums towards GT5 and the discoveries you make as the bearer of good/bad news, you never forget how much your input and presence here is appreciated.

I hope that I may ask one question of my own for you, were you to find the time to investigate this for me. In Arcade 2P mode after a split-screen race, is it possible like in GT1,2 and 3 to view the subsequent race replay in full screen from one driver's perspective (TV camera or any other view) or is it once again a forced split-screen 2P replay as it was in GT4 and Prologue?

Many kind thanks in advance, I very much look forward to hearing from you. 👍

All the best
Maz

I've got e few questions to make:
1)Will we be able to customise cars
2)Is true, that only race cars can be damaged:sick: (if yes,is ferrari 458italia considered a race car?Cause in a previous post, there was shown a Ferrari crashed after hitting the barrier)

Aaaawsome update mate, I'm now confident that the new physics will NOT dissapoint! Damn, I will be covering so many miles in this game! HYPEEEEE!

Amar, a big THANK YOU by all who like GT series and wait to get their hands on GT5. You make the wait easier. I want to ask you if there is any setting for the exact steering ratio in Steering wheel menu and especially in DFPro & DFGT. I know about 300° % 900° settings but I would totally prefer to adjust it depending on the vehicle I want to drive each time. By the way, I would like a mini review about the Fanatec wheel as soon as you have the time to do it. I do have the DFPro but if it is not satisfactory about GT5, I think of getting the same Fanatec wheel as yours.

Thanks for all the work you are doing for us.. but about this below:

...........................................................
I tried to drive without ABS on both stock cars mentioned above, but even G25 pedals are not up to that task
............................................................

Are you sure? I stiffened up the springs in my G25 brake and throttle pedals a little, but even stock they are very good.

Are you sure it's the pedals that aren't up to the task? You don't think that with more practice you could control the brakes sufficiently with a G25 pedal set and that only better pedals than the G25's will allow you to brake consistently without ABS switched on? Really?

I can obviously read benwaballs. I have actually asked his "opinion on" those features. maybe you should read the post correctly before jumping on the bandwaggon

As always... very well said, Maz 👍

Amar... we are lucky to have someone with an understanding of what's really important to the GT community. Thanks for your great feedback

UPDATE SECOND AND HALF

OK, all National B Licenses done (10 of them), all Golds.

Nothing particulary challenging, but it was fun to see some licenses from the times of the very first Gran Turismo in the new era :) All licenses are done with Premium cars as expected.

Notice that Skid Recovery is permanetly on and it can't be set to off for al N-B Licenses. Other assists can be turned off, but you have to do it manually for every new License. Some things never change in he World of Gran Turismo :) Also notice that quantity of OSD data during in-cockpit is noting short of fabulous :D Position, map, current time, prize times, best time, all gauges, split-times... My dear Lord. Polyphony sticks to the roots of 15 years ago

For all Bronzes in N-B you get legendary Demio Sport '03. For Silver and Gold you get *censored*

Notice that winning all N-B with Gold will get you to Lv. 4 and unlock Kart, JG Nascar and Top Gear Special Races (ones with appropriate level).

Also, N-B 10 License hosts 16 cars on track, so that one question is also settled pretty much.

Will come back soon, I have to do further search into some options now.

That would indicate that the licence tests are the same we've always had.

amar212 hello, I want to know if GT5 (zone 1) includes Spanish language in the texts (the language setting of the PS3 in Spanish).
I'm from Argentina and book the U.S. version, which is what you get over here.
sorry for the translation of google.
Greetings and thanks !!!!!👍

@amar212

It's save file of the GT5 really locked, thus can't be copied to back-up medium? I've had bad experience with locked save files, when my launch 60GB PS3 YLOD'ed I've lost my Killzone 2 progress ... just imagine GT5 save file with 100%, I would be really upset!

Why would he make such video? :odd:
By the way his name is AMAR, not mamar.
