I noticed several double posts and some slow loading at times. I also just noticed there are only 32 members on. Thats very unusual for this site.

Yeah, I've noticed it a few days ago as well.
I also sometimes get error messages, but that's not a big deal.

I very occasionally get a database error, but a quick refresh sorts it right out.

I'll try and take a screenshot next time.

When the database crashes, the currently active users are sometimes lost. Nothing has really changed recently with our configuration, so the source of the MySQL problems is pretty mysterious. I'm having my server management guys take a look at it now, hopefully they'll be able to sort this one out.

Yeah, Ive axidently double posted because of slow/incomplete loads
I have learned that if you hit "submit reply" and it starts loading really really slow. DONT hit the refresh button. Thats how you end up with double posts.
Just copy your typed text into notepad in case it doesnt reply. THen just try it again.

Just click sumbit reply, click X on Firefox, (or what ever you use) and come back..

I've also noticed that the site is being slower... I mean i go to other sites that are MUCH bigger then this.. and they work just fine.

Something weird happened....

GT3 has 100x better drifting physics than GT4. GT4's physics are fun, frustrating and retarded.

GT3 OWNS for drifting.

Real life is 10x harder than any video game because of g-force and fear, and the fact that if you f' up you'll have to pay for it......possibly with your life.

However, the skill is about the same. Learn car control on GT3 NOT GT4 if you're wanting to apply it to real life. But nothing beats going into a gravel lot and hitting the gas to learn. Then applying it to wet pavement and dry if your good enough. Be carefull

I think drifting is more realistic in GT4, and from driving in real life and treating my school's parking lot like a race track on some weekends, if you se your DFP setting to "simulation", it feels about the same. If anything, the only thing you miss out on in GT4 in comparison to real-life driving is the G-force.

ok that was possibley the dumbest thing i have ever heard no offence. it is much more realistic in real life because it is real. GT4 is all good and well but they one missed out on the oversteer physics complettely

sorry but you cannot compare real life drifting to GT4 drifting.
GT4 is meant to be "life like" as close as possible, and in real life, well, thats real

RogueSSv is very correct. This is a duplicate thread. Duplicate threads are simply not tolerated.

Since the GT4 boards are much more active then the GT3 boards, why even post in the GT3 boards?

Also, the techniques used in GT4 are similar to real life but obviously it can't make up for the feel of being in a car. Just like the regular racing.

Yay, support from Swift!
Just glad I did the right thing, sorry if I came out too hard, I tried to be as soft as possible
Dont worry, you'll learn. It took ME a 1 week ban but I learned.
And since your'e new and havent done anything really bad like advertising or clearly deliberate spamming, you should be safe. Just review the AUP/ToS and youll be fine

There're 2 types of physics involved in the game. Car and tyre physics.
Car physics is way better in GT4.
Tyre physics is more accurate in GT4 (grip mode). When the tyre slides, GT3 tyre physics was just better (it doens't mean it's closer to real life).

Not for me.

Various on opinion. Because I can't really tell since I only been in a FF drift but I would say GT3(majority of opinions out there)....well there is Gt4...wahhh I can't choose T-T.

… a screenshot is much more helpful for those kind of things.

Just got the database error again.

GTP
There seems to have been a problem with the database.
Please try again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, whom you can also contact if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

GTP is one of 2.5 sites our currently-broken filter will allow through. And it works just fine.

The techs made a few configuration changes, but it does appear to have made things a bit worse. I would agree with Famine, though, that when the database is up, everything is very quick.

Yep, here the loading times are faster but I still get the occational database error.

Press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard, then paste the image into MS Paint or Photoshop, if you have it, then upload to imageshack.

Didnt want to start a new thread so hope this is ok here..

Been having some problems of late

1)Keep getting logged out when refreshing page and sometimes when changing threads

2)Custom user title not displaying

3)Showing offline when im online under my avatar (shows online viewing thread at bottom of page)

4)pages never completely load up

I use firefox and when changing to IE issue 3 did right itself, just been fairly recently this has been happening, i think the logging out thing is known about and that also happens on my work pc.

regards

David

The problems with MySQL just seem to be getting worse and worse. I'm going to have them take a look at it again.

Dave, please start a new thread as your issues are unrelated to this subject. I will address your problems there.

I think they relate. Its GTP problems, and those all are.

Well, it happened again. Whats going on, indeed.

Anyone notice the minute wait just to get on the site? I'm getting this slow connection to GTP.. Like i have Dial Up...

And you tripel posted.
Guess what!!! It happened again!!! 5 times in the last 7 minutes!!!! As a result of which I accidentally posted 6x in a row!!! WTF!!!! And the new posts search just refuses to refresh itself!!! Once again WTF!!!!
OK this is getting reallllly screwed.... its happening every time I try to post or edit, and there are no indications of new posts until you go into the thread and view them.
WTF?!?!?!??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111111111

It's starting to give invalid thread links as well.

Master_Yoda, I can see your problem. Whenever you press submit, it will submit but it won't show up ;) You just need to refreshed it. Happened to me a couple of times.

Look at this!!! Another @#$@#ing double post!!! Have you noticed, right now, consecutively, one triple post, and two double posts? WTF?!?!? is happening!!! DONT DIE ON US GTP DONT DIE ON US!!!

Maybe its another sign of the apocalypse....!!!!!!
DO SOMETHING JORDAN!!!!! All the signs are lining up... everything is made in China.... its almost 6/6/06..... the MAyans predicted we'll all dieeeeeeee
NOOO

WHAT!!! How the @#$@# did this happen!?!?!? I only clicked once and DIDNT refresh!!!! WTF?!?@?!#@?#?!%!#@**********

I'm getting this too. I just pulled the same thing, by accident, that the last poster in this thread did, over in the Cars in General section. It's throwing the error message now, too, I'll screenshot it if it comes up.

It also seems to not recognize new posts, by the way. My post is here in the thread, obviously, but the subforum doesn't list it. Here's the error, by the way. Using IE 6.0. (Furryfox and my firewall hate each other)
