Funny. You were around that speed with the Audi R8 '05. The car is apparently slow though, said by the same guys that prove it is so fast.

We did a 15 lap race (All in R8's except PJ) at Laguna yesterday, with the pace falling off barely 2 seconds from start to finish, and my lap times on 13,14 lap tires being roughly the same as my lap 1 times in the BMW.

I trust the testing BK set up to inform the regulations, he said it would so we'll all have to live with those results.

What's even funnier is you making up things I haven't even said. I'll pay you if you find a post where I said the R8 is slow ;)

All I claim is it is no faster than the Speed 8
 
This back and forth crap is annoying. I say we give the bentley toyota and audi 650hp, then give the rest 680? If were penalising people we might as well go with success ballast!

That would be unfair towards the Speed 8 and Audi.

Seriously, what I suggest is 20kg of Ballast added to the Audi, Speed 8 (so it now has 80kg of ballast) and GT-One or more if needed to bring the pace down. Obviously we can't keep them the same as they were in S4 but they all need more ballast. Ballast to just the Audi is wrong as it has been proved it runs at a similar pace to the Bentley and the GT-One is far to fast at high speed circuits.

Tom I want you to do me a favor. Pick a track that you feel is a fair testing ground. I'd suggest Nurb GP.

Run a 12 lap race, by yourself, in the R8, with BK's setup. Then repeat the process in the Speed 8 with 60kg, with my setup posted in the tuning thread.

Record the total time for each, and post them here.

Same goes for anyone. I'm interested to see the results. No pitstops, you must run the 12 laps on one set of tires.
 
It would have to be stock cars then considering I don't have a tune for a Bentley but I'll try later. However, what I'm trying to also say is that you can change your setup in such a way to save tyres or make it stable.

There are tunes in the tunes thread.

Comparing stock cars is as useless as comparing PP numbers.

Fwiw I'm disappointed with my Clubsport pedals.. My throttle is starting to act up and its only like 3 months old.


While stock will give a general performance, like PP will, there can be a considerable amount of time gained with a tune. So balancing the stock cars is a bit retarded.

im about to buy some of those................. i still havent decide if i want the CSR Elite or the CSW. Forza is good, but i hate it with a controller............................

I just got the regular CS pedals with my Carrera wheel (so no xbox :( ) They're awesome, but the sensor is failing. Same happened with my standard pedals that came with the Carrera wheel (known common problem with the standard pedals), but they offered a discount to upgrade to the clubsports so did it (or simply replace). They also sent me replacement parts quickly so Customer service has been good so far.


My setup (minus the CS pedals).

I just told you, use my tune from the tuning thread linked in the first post of this thread. As Tiss said, I'm utterly apathetic to stock times.

Edit: Tiss/BK's GT5 setups rock, I'm super jealous, at least I play on a huge TV, but the controller is pretty weak.
 
I'm not condoning success ballast, I'm saying if were penalising people we might as well go with that. Super GT, FIA GT do this in their real world series. If other drivers are faster, slow them down, not the car they use. If were not doing that, others just have to get faster.

Yeah for sure it's an awesome setup. I have a very basic setup and a DFGT which I'm happy with, but that makes it look like crap. I just wish I had that much space to get the best from :(

its cheaper to go to a junkyard and find a leather seat in decent condition then to buy one of those "gaming" race seats. & i think its a lot bettter, i can adjust the seat for when my friends drive

That cost me 35$ from a 3000GT
