And I can still have an opinion. I'm sure it's against your precious AUP to single out members as inferior on the basis of posts. If it's not then it's at best unprofessional. Look at your posts, I don't automatically assume you're a balding middle aged man with a bowl cut and cargo pants because you have 36k+ posts.

I'm a member here and I expect to be treated like one.

Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing.

If the Mods stay out of this thread the topic won't be about them :)

And Wooly, may I ask what you're contributing with besides off-topic talk? Who are you?

Im trying to support this champ by posting in it. I wouldn't be off topic if the mod wasn't in it. Who am I? I'm a good friend of fellow members of this champ and as you can read by my avy a current f1 2010 racing champion

Image of London burning and in turmoil after I become a mod
And this would be a bad thing right? See.

If it would put a bit of life in this place then i'd gladly support him.

Woo hoo. The errr election (not quite a democracy but I could gather support) campaign begins!!!!

You will not behave in an abusive and/or hateful manner, and will not harass, threaten, nor attack any individual or any group.

This could apply to Famine's post. Hmmm.

I should start a thread where people vote as to wether moderators should be elected members of the GTP community who can fill in spaces in the moderation team if there is a vacancy (or they would like extra staff) where a system is used by if a vacancy is available, anybody can put their name forwards to be a moderator and then the best, say five members are picked by the moderation staff as present and then the community votes on who should fill the slot. We could have GTP election campaigns and everything. It would be brilliant. Speeches, TV debates, going around in campaign crusades, calling an old female member of the community a bigoted woman. What more could we want.

Best thing, this post doesn't break the AUP in anyway. Woo hoo!!!

(Campaign theme tune removed because the lyrics say keep your revolution which isn't what we want)

If people want to continue talking about moderating decisions - and repeating information about them that they know to be untrue - in this thread, they can expect answers from moderation staff. You don't get a free ride to talk about us and also get to complain when we respond.

And I can still have an opinion.

And as I said, we'll take your review of the liveliness of this site under advisement...

Luckily I don't recall that happening. I did, however, point out the innate worth of someone passing their denigrating thoughts on something without actually experiencing anything of it outside a very, very narrow scope.

You may automatically assume whatever you wish. I am not responsible for your assumptions.

Interesting, because the staff here are all volunteers who uphold the rules we all agreed to abide by for the site's benefit and we expect to be treated as such, rather than derided for humourlessness by individuals whose majority experience of the site is a single thread about a race series.

Funny how that works, isn't it?

No, it couldn't. On the plus side, you could always use the Report Button to report my post, but since the report button is only to be used to draw staff attention (you already have it) to AUP issues (which haven't happened) and we're not, as a group, keen on having our time wasted, I suggest you take that under advisement also.

You could. However as I already pointed out, the only person who appoints staff is the site owner. That's the guy who created and owns the site and wrote the rules you agreed to before you joined it - and who through the success of his policies has had the opportunity to interview the guy who wrote the game this thread's participants have been playing twice (I did it once in Cologne, Jordan did it once in Las Vegas) at the invitation of the company who make the console you play it on.

I'd suggest that thread is not one that would thrive.

So, do you all want to continue picking at the staff fruitlessly or do you want to get back to the race series you're apparently interested in?

Edit: are you guys gonna run some races tonight? BK / Bombe?

I'd follow this series and enter possibly if it was on-topic...

I would like to get a practice day set up during the week. Just to create online lobbies and help create some interest.

Any time on Tue / Wed / Thur after 2 pm eastern

I thought this was a Le Mans Series, not an arguments thread? Golfer, Jam, what has happened here???

The british came.

Also BK, maybe you should put up another poll like you did in the S4 thread.
Unfortunately I can't make any of them since I'm still just a kid in high school. I don't get home until 7:00, then I shower, eat, and start working on homework at 8:00.

Back to the Le Mans racing. I'm looking at 1:43's right now in the GT-One, should be abl to break into the 1:42 barrier.

The races

Does that mean I am alone on the Mazda team now?
If that's the case I would like to invite Seth over here. I'm not going to the Bentley or Sauber though, that's for sure.

No, I'm only missing the weekday practices.
Not that I really provide much benefit to the Mazda team anyways.

I'm sorry bk, but I have a life outside of racing, filled with schoolwork. I just won't be able to race all the time.

That was a great race, made up several places into turn 1 after qualifying dead last, and spent most of the race, fighting tissimo for 3rd. Was satisfied with my consistent pace, which I settled down to so as to save my tyres and wait for tiss to make a mistake. But I was first to crack. Cost me something like 30 seconds of time, killed my tyres, and so I was forced to fight off you in the final few laps. Managed to pull a gap, but ruined the last corner on the last lap, which allowed you to get beside me, and on presumably fresher tyres, better traction meant you had me to the line. Flooring it wasn't a good idea, so it put me into the inside wall.

As for my pace, some tuning adjustments should be able to get me into the 1:42's in the GT-One, i'm happy with its stability into and out of the corners, which should help me over long term strategy. Maybe this will be the day, where I make it for once, and have a good race, and probably take the fight to the reigning Audis. If it rains, i'm prepared. I've been fairly quick in the rain before, and without traction control this season, things may play a little bit more into my hands if it rains, thanks to several laps in the GT-One in the wet without it, though that was at La Sarthe, I have rain experience.

Still mad that I couldn't get 3rd last season here though. :ouch:

So, we don't have that?!

At least leave a message in here about not making a race instead of vanishing.

Hofstee: Practice sessions aren't that common in this series and when they are open they either a) last for 10 mins, or b) consist of races on different tracks and is therefore not real practice for next round. So no worries.

I know but I'm talking about the weekday practices bk wants to start. I was there for most of the practices over thanksgiving break since I get 3 days off of school. Those lasted for about 2 hours each.

I'd absolutely love to make this Saturday's race. I was in one of your lounges the other day and had a great time. I only have the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP -- Team Oreca Matmut '10 car at the moment. Since I've come here at round 3, I'm technically not going for the championship. Would it be ok if I used it then? Or do I still HAVE to find a team that will have 3 total people once I join?

I'm back guys :)

-----

Golfer I wouldn't vote for you to tie my shoes let alone have some power LOL

-----

My odds for peter not showing up are evens LOL

My odds for him having speeed... There's no point betting LOL

I'm going to need a tune for the 787 or AUDI if I join one of your teams. I don't really care if the 787 is slower, just as long as its tires last. The Bentley with 700hp doesn't.

Random idea: to pick cars next season we could have a few kart races and also qualifying sessions to see true skill. Whoever has the lowest number when you add both the race and quali results together gets first pick. Also there would be "rounds" so 3 top drivers can't all pick one car
