I have no problem hosting a room. We also need back ups as well. I'll volunteer myself to be primary for room #2

I guess I'm not included either. It's cool, I barely have time to play anyways. If anyone needs an alternate, let me know.

Gives me time to make a copy of my real life turboed Miata! :)

Yeah, just not sure where to put you at the moment. We'll figure it out shortly.

sweet, thanks!

Don't worry, we'll get it figured out.

Oh and just pulled a 1:43.794 in practice at Laguna Seca.

Insanely fast time 👍

I live in the east coast. It would be ideal if we split up the rooms between us two dividing by coast with Central players choosing between either West(you) or East(me) rooms.

I'd like to sign up for this. I'm happy being a part of the second group. I'm happy to try and help run a room, although someone might have to help me with what that involves and my region may be an issue (or may not).

Edit: Updated with colours. Also, despite being in Japan I'm using a US copy of the game. Dunno if that makes any difference, but there you go.

Edit: I just created a room titled "GTP spec Miata's only", room number is 1472-6118-4130-9222-6075. I'll be on for the next couple of hours, unless nobody shows up :)

No visitors for the last while so I just exited the room. Thanks to those that dropped by, I can see this is going to be some fun close racing 👍

I'd like to be added to the list as well, 2nd room entry or what have you.

Just raced with these two guys tonight. It was awesome, thanks a bunch!

Ha i missed the highflow cat. No wonder i'm slow :P

But really i'll prob just make sure you guys are using the proper rear bumpers lol.

@Rocket Punch: Well it would probably make people race a lot more cautiously, which is a good thing in my book. Today in some of our practice races someone barreled into me in the first corner twice...

lol, if people can't brake with a 130hp 800kg car, I don't know what they can brake with....

Rocket Punch - it's actually a little tougher than that because you have to brake as little as possible with these cars otherwise your momentum severely dies off. Even though with every car you should be braking as little as possible, hahaha.

R1600Turbo - What rules do you wanna set up in regards to driver aids? I'm relatively sure the lap times we've pulled(I pulled a 1:43.xxx) were with assists. Also I think having damage at heavy will add on to the simulation and I totally recommend it.

I just tested it, my 2 cent is mechanical damage set to light is better. Otherwise I fear most of the field will either be limping or have to spend so much time in the pits to get the car fix, may be only 2 car will ended up in the lead lap.

Just keep in mind that if some one crash into you, you also will suffer alot of damage if set to heavy.

We have to examine the possibilities too. There are two major types of crashes that come to mind. One being the douche bag crash and the other is a lag induced crash. The former relies heavily on the honor system while the latter is an issue on any online game.

Since the actual races won't be going on for another two weeks or so we should do some mock races to see how this really affects us.

As far as driver aids, I drive exclusively on my wheel with all assists off aside from ABS set to 1. Steering is set to Professional though I'm not sure that does anything on my old Driving Force.
I hope that's not why I felt so slow today :/

The car is 130hp, weights 860kg; please tell me we are turning every assist off otherwise what is there left to race? Might as well use racing soft so everyone can just pin the throttle call it a race. I race the 600hp MP12 with Sport Soft and no assist online.

Just my feeling.

Hey guys,

I just wondered how plausible it might be to keep this room going around the clock...there seem to be a lot of different people in here, all with different work and sleep patterns. If we can't make it there at any specific time/don't see any posts on this forum, perhaps if we agreed a set name for the room (GTP Spec Miata has been mentioned), then if you're online at any given time you can just search for it? If it doesn't already exist then perhaps you could host it so the next person can find it?

Essentially, what I'm getting at is that whenever you find you have any free time you can go looking for the room...if it always has the same name...

I hope this isn't treading on anybody's toes, but does anybody else think this might be a good idea? It might also help to find other drivers who are interested that aren't on this forum?

Rob

I'd say that instead of first come first serve there should be tiered racing.

There should be qualifying to get into the top 16 each week (or whatever frequency decided).

It would be unfortunate if someone in the current first 16 was off pace the whole time and was discouraged from going on. Having qualifying will stack up the drivers nicely.
This makes the field more competitive and creates a better series overall.

But in the mean time, here's my entry form for consideration:
Wardez (Wardez) [NTSC] - Splash Green Mica
Controller: G27 wheel

Turbo, perhaps update the OP with those who have registered after the initial 16.

Then atleast we could all see what we have to work with and maybe figure out how we would like to set this up a little better.

Qualifier is definitely a good idea and I agree. There should be a qualifier of some sort. I'm sure Turbo just didn't expect there to be so much interest so he did not consider it.

Perhaps we can have whoever starts a GTP SM room to post in this thread. That way we can just open the threads last page and see if someone is already hosting one. All we have to do is plan on a certain beginning and ending time.

Unless someone else already opened a dedicaced room, I will create a room today at 1PM (New york time), starting on Tsukuba.
I will leave a 3PM.

Name of the room will be GTP Spec Miata Practice.

It will be perfect if the racers comply with all the rules specified in this thread.

It will include unofficial races too... for some fun ! :)

I will edit this post as soon as I have the room number.
