hey guys,
if any of you got the game already, can you tell me if you game "freezes aswell once your in the first menu screen. I get no mouse cursor, but when i disconnect the internet cable from my ps3 it works, but then tell me i couldnt establish a connection to the master server....????

Several people are having this problem. It appears that servers are overloaded.
Disconnecting the PS3 from the internet, either physically or with its network system setting temporarily solves the problem.

yea that was it looks like, i tried opening a lobby with 16 players and it was filled up within a second :lol:

hope they open more server for smoother gameplay

everyone who goes online , don't join a server :] open your own server then we have millions os servers and no problems XD

I have a nice 25Mbit connection, I'll use that and host a nice room for a while, once I get it tomorrow.


Can't wait, we can complain about shadows all we want, we can complain about standards all we want, but as of the 24th we all get what we've been waiting for! day/night transition,mechanical damage,body damage,1000 cars and lots of racing styles all for one big giant online community! we've been waiting for this since GT3, we've got it now! and boy did PD deliver on this one, can't wait to see all the people that are creating their own "Racing leagues" for updates on the community areas that are supposedly ingame and posting your changes to people on your friends list, this is going to be one giant networking-meets ingame racing game! I love it!

Yeah overloaded because uhh... PDs public servers aren't out yet? and the people that were hosting their own server was like what... a few people? lol
 
Chris ~ You don't have to be online/connected to the internet to play in GT Mode, right? I'm asking cuz with the online-overload issues, I just wanna install the game, get the patch and focus on licenses and deal with the online stuff later. To avoid my machine "freezing", I was thinking of just disabling my PS3 internet connection all together. Thanks again!
 
You wont get the freezing problem tomorrow, the game hasn't even been officially released yet, companies releasing the game a few days early isn't SCEA/J's fault, It'll all be fine on the 24th, it will probably have HIGH server load the first day or so, this can probably be dealt with by more users creating more rooms to lessen the workload.

Also depends on how many public servers they put up, if they only put up a few for each type of race, expect a high payload and long wait times in line.

They may not even know how many to put up yet, they probably want a rough estimate on payload first.

In gtpsp there is a Formula 1 car by polyphony digital. So that car should be available in Gt5 as well right?

Yeah, I looked for all the formula cars when the list came out... but I don't think they'd mix the Formula Poly with the F10 in a race. Presumably, the Formula Poly was based on an F1 car from several years ago. With so many changes in the rules and regs of F1, it wouldn't be a fair matchup.

Now if PD were to bring in the RB6 and the MP4/25... :cheers:

Seems odd to exclude it, since I'm not sure how fair an F10 vs F2007 would be if they're allowed to join the same race. It's also a shame that PD didn't update and bring in standard models of the F1s from GT3, but ah well... too excited to grab a copy of GT5 to really care. :lol:

I watched you modify the Mazda, I think it was, and you mentioned at the end of that video that the next video was going to be you using that modified Mazda to complete a race series. But, I couldn't find that second video anywhere.

There was a noticeable loss of grip with dirty tyres in GT5:Prologue for a few corners after driving on the grass/gravel using Pro Physics, so I would expect that this effect has been recreated at least as well for GT5 proper 👍

Yeah, he never uploaded a video with the modded Mazda from what i saw. Was really looking forward to seeing if there was a difference in car sound. Oh well, less than 24 hours till i'll get to test it myself.

I am excited to see in the latest video they give you a garage option in the race lobby so you are not limited before beginning of a race, and everyone could race the same cars at different setups to find the best handling car, that is freaking awesome!:cheers:

Im uploading though, maybe 1 or 2 videos of a online lobby with a race...

Now that the servers and everything has gone up you should try the direct upload feature and see how the quality is.
